We stopped at Mitolo for wine tasting. Nice setting with a great view (like almost everywhere in McLaren Vale) and a nice modern restaurant. The highlight for us was the wine tasting. They had a few options and we picked the one that could fit a vegetarian style with 6 wines. The whole experience was great and the wines, mainly the Shiraz and Cab Suv for me, where excellent. Very nice.

Oscars is not "fine dining", as some of the other reviewers might have expected. It is more in competition with the local pub, providing solid, hearty food with a friendly service. That's exactly what we were after. The flatbread was flat and not too yeasty nicely covered with rocket and pear. All ingredients were fresh and nicely presented. Service was a bit on the slow side but very friendly. And yes, we had as well the experience that after our mains we felt a bit left alone. The short blacks were however as they should be.

Carmel's is a unique restaurant located in the heart of the picturesque McLaren Vale. The Restaurant presents an ever-changing menu focusing on flavors to compliment the extensive wine selection from local wineries. The food is modern Australian twist on
The service was very good, smiling staff is always a good sign.We ordered... sage and onion porterhouse schnitzel with mash and veg which was really well received. Wagu rump done medium rare with chips and salad. The steak was tender but slightly over. Wagu rump done medium with mash and veg. The steak was slightly over cooked again but was tender and had a good flavour. BBQ ribs X2 were very tender falling off the bone. However the coleslaw is lacking in flavour chips were really nice. Our grandson had the chicken homemade nuggets. He is 3 and enjoyed them but salad for a 3 year old with chips was a bit off key. He had no sauce with the dish and I think maybe give the little ones a choice of baked beans. Our 8 year old granddaughter had the salt and pepper squid and it was tender and she loved it.We had a really good meal and left feeling full.We split the bill and each used the Entertainment card which saved us 40% each. Will return again as the meal was very good and the owner was up for a laugh.Hi Chris,Glad you enjoyed your time at Carmel's.By the way the discount on the Entertainment Card was 25% not 40% just in case someone reads the review and says they've been hard done by.

Where do I even start? Loved everything about this place. The business ethos, module, the concept and finally the execution, everything perfect. I love the fact that everything is sourced from the farm or locally from another farmer they know. Everything cooked from scratch, nothing out of a jar from the supermarket. Having no menu but cooking what's in season or more like whats on the farm take guts. Having just the one day and one time to serve everyone again take guts. But when you have the best to serve, why wouldn't you have the guts? To add to this spectacular view, the decor and above all Andy as the host just puts this place on a big pedestal. It's a dining experience.
