Moorcroft Manor was recommended by our host who also made a reservation for us both nights we had dinner here. It is excellent. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. It was cool enough for a fire so we went early to enjoy the ambience of the bar area before dinner. I highly recommend and hope to return someday.Dear Patty6-13Thank you for your review. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed both your evenings with us and we hope to see you soon.

Havana Grill offers an unforgettable dining experience with the combination of great food, an extensive wine selection, humidor for cigars and an environment that is relaxing, yet remains up-market. With views overlooking the ocean, excellent meals and at
This is in the Suncoast Casino development, a is a very popular mall, packed with people every evening. There are multiple restaurants. We didn't like the complex, but it is popular in Durban because it is safe and secure. This branch of the Havana grill is quite large, and busy. We were well looked after by the waitress, who had a wryly amusing manner, and made us smile. I had the venison (Eland) which I always enjoy, my wife had a steak which was fine, but too big for her. Both were well cooked. Wine was good, if a slightly limiting choice. We used Uber to get there and back from our hotel.I would go there again ifI wanted that sort of food. It is a shame about the venue, but I understand the need for safety.

Butcher Boys, an elegant upmarket steak restaurant and sister to our Florida Rd store which was established in November 1999 has now opened opened its doors in Umhlanga Rocks on the 1st of March 2017. This sanctuary for meat lovers serve the best grain fe
We only booked that morning for a large group of 12 but they were able to accommodate us. Despite the size of the group, the service was excellent and the meat was delicious. I had a meat sharing platter for two which was a delicious and more varied than it sounds. The whole group enjoyed meals across the menu and. All washed down with some red wine recommended by the waiter. Fun place. Thanks for the fabulous review @PFTraveller62 - delighted to hear you had a great meal with us and hope to see you back again soon.

I wrote a full review of our recent experience at Hartford House under its accommodation listing, but here is the section dealing with the restaurant:Pre dinner drinks are extremely awkward as everyone sits around in a quiet lounge waiting to be seated. No staff greeted us, or made much of an effort to be welcoming. After being seated, the chef Chris Papayannes came out and spoke to us about what to expect, he made a good presentation, which had us anticipating a memorable meal, however the reality did not match up to the description. The wine pairing was rather poor, the sommelier was not knowledgable, going as far as admitting that she had never tasted one of the four wines that we were served (there is a good wine list to order from a la carte). The six courses were generally poorly executed. All served cold on a freezing cold night. Flavours were mismatched and in many cases bland. Much emphasis was placed on the use of 'local produce', however, we were given Patagonian squid, Italian truffle, Capetown cheese... The worst course was the dessert, which featured an ill conceived beetroot granita which tasted of dirt, paired with sickly sweet white chocolate mousse, bland cake crumbs and salted caramel. Having said that, none of the courses scored more than a 5 out of 10 in my opinion. The breakfast was a better experience than dinner, but again, hot dishes were served warm to cold, and staff were again disinterested.

Good atmosphere and great service from waiter (Musa) , the prawn dish prepared at the table by the talented chef was delicious but the steak fillet was dry and warm.(Not sure if this is standard restaurant pricing but a 60R glass of wine seemed pricey when compared to the exact same wine at the supermarket for 65R/bottle)Dear Theog751Thank you kindly for taking the time to complete a trip advisor review regarding your recent visit to our Sugar Club Restaurant.Your feedback is most appreciative and will be pass on to the team. Overcast windy day in Umhlanga and we opted for Mundo (which has beautiful sea views), but the moody sea was still a lovely sight. We always receive good service and even though we got there 30m before our reservation- we were seated. The restaurant was also very busy. The service team is always so friendly. We no longer look at the menu because we order the same meal every time. Starters: Spanish Mussels - we love this starter. Itâs spicy. Itâs a generous portion. The sauce is so good. Fish cakes Duck spring rolls Mains: Deluxe Seafood Medley 2 baby crayfish, 2 Langoustines, 4/6 King size prawns and a piece of fish - we have it done peri peri. Itâs served on a bed of rice and it comes with a small bowl of chips. Additional accompaniments are garlic butter, lemon butter and peri peri sauce. Today this platter came out to us cold. And it was put into a burner - but it still was cold. And I donât like cold seafood. But it was cooked perfectly- the meat was tender and did not stick to the shells. Dessert: Oreo cheesecake- this was the first time that I ordered this and it was delicious. Brownie with ice cream - this is always a winner.

Was in the area for the weekend and ended up here twice. That is just how nice the whole experience was.Popped in at lunch time for a light snack. What we found was a gem of a place with really good food and a fantastic atmosphere. This is a very rustic establishment which adds to it charm. Our lunch was such good value and enjoyable that we returned for dinner as well.I just have to mention the owner (who's name I cannot remember now). He really made the experience so much more enjoyable with his friendly presence. Making sure we were looked after properly, which we always were.10/10 for valueWould returnWould recommend

We welcome you to come to Flavours Restaurant, where the team bring you a selection of our favorite food from around the world. Please note that booking is essential, especially for evenings, Sunday lunches and holidays. Restauranteur, Ingrid Formo bought
The food is excellent. The menu is quite extensive and in some ways we felt they should focus on fewer dishes and then improve speed and service. We weren't in a hurry and the menu warns you that dishes are freshly prepared; even so sometimes less is more. The food is excellent; the place is busy so book. Thanks your comments and review. We will take them under advisement.

Grill Room at the Oyster Box Hotel.
Thereâs an old fashioned elegance to the Grill Room â the chandelier, the starched linen, the waiters dressed in their very retro uniforms. Even the menu includes what you wished were more universal timeless classics. One was something definitely out of fashion in the UK â an hors dâoeuvres trolley. We couldnât recall seeing one in the last 40 years â it was a meal with my father (and he died in 1975). We did remember how good they were. And this was an absolute cracker. There must have been at least 20 different salads, meats and seafood to choose from. Another retro things was the sorbet that arrived next â lychee and pineapple, although both flavours were very muted. We followed that with another classic â chateaubriand â one of the items on the âGueridon trolley serviceâ section of the menu. Itâs an enormous piece of meat, accurately cooked as requested and carved and plated at the table. Thereâs a bit of showmanship, with brandy being poured over and flamed before carving. And thereâs an array of vegetables to go with it â asparagus, courgette, carrot, cauliflower, broccoli and baby sweetcorn. And a very well made potato dauphinoise. And some pan juices to drizzle over and an excellent béarnaise sauce. This had been a lot of food and only one of us felt they had room for dessert. The menu described it as âcaramel apple sphereâ. This was disappointing, with no real flavour of caramel and precious little of apple. Nor was it a sphere, unless they meant the blob of ice cream. This could have been good if only there had been a good twang from apple and richness from caramel but this just tasted of a generic sweetness. It all made me later wonder if Iâd actually been served the dessert Iâd ordered.Service was generally good but there was a quibble. The Grill Room is one of the places where, if you order a bottle of water, they donât leave it on the table. Now, thatâs OK if the waiters are âon the ballâ and top up your glass regularly. That didnât happen here and we had to keep asking for the bottle. And the second bottle we ordered, while still eating the main course, didnât arrive until after weâd finished eating dessert.
