Reviews on Grill food in Eastern Cape, South Africa. The Eastern Cape is a province of South Africa. Its capital is Bhisho, but its two largest cities are Port Elizabeth and East London. It was formed in 1994 out of the Xhosa homelands of Transkei and Ciskei, together with the eastern portion of the Cape Province. Landing place and home of the 1820 settlers, the central and eastern part of the province is the traditional home of the Xhosa people.

A trendy restaurant serving the freshest local fish, well aged steaks and a wonderful selection of baked goods. A well stocked wine cellar - ask your waiter about the chefs special.
Best Banting cheesecake and bread in town. Oh yes, do not forget the banting base pizza, absolutely delicious. The service on my last 5 visits were really excellent. Attentive and informative. Tried various dishes and everything was top class. Keep up your high standards. Well done, will be back.

The restaurant was very busy as we were there on a Saturday evening. Just as well we had booked. We had a good meal although the service could/should have been quicker. The waitress did say that had they known the numbers coming they would have had more staff on.

A country style restaurant with a spectacular view of the river and bush. We also have a venue for weddings and special events.
We had the good fortune to be invited to lunch at Stanleys. What a beautiful site, overlooking the bends of the Kariega river in a peaceful rural setting. The food (fish and chips, in this case) was really good and the hospitality was tremendous. We can't wait to go back again. Thank you Rod and Dot.

All you can eat everyday sushi buffet with an awesome selection of seafood and grill, or watch your chef cook in front of you on with our special Teppanyaki dishes.
Sitting outside on the deck on a deserved #Friyay afternoon after a long hard week, I was pleasantly surprised at the lovely ambience created at this sushi restaurant situated in a rather uninspiring little shopping center in PE.They have a lovely range of sushi, teppanyaki, and other interesting seafood mains on the menu, all fairly reasonably priced. I was super-impressed with my sashimi salad which, at R98, was gratefully generous in the amount of sashimi (salmon, tuna, prawn and crabsticks) served on a bed of fresh crisp, julienned and spiralised greens, fashionably presented in a deep salad bowl, unlike the accustomed small sushi-plate servings! My hubby opted for a selection of salmon roses and the Tempura prawn sushi, which he ordered with their wicked superhot Wasabi. There a few things that make me cry, and this (I'm ashamed to admit), was one of them! Our meal was beautifully paired with a glass each of the house Sauvignon Blanc. The service was prompt and professional, with the manager even coming to check up on the quality of service. A lovely experience; and I would most certainly be back for my powerhouse value-for-money sashimi salad with the superhot Wasabi!!

Blue Waters Cafe is situated next to the ocean with great views of the bay. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our meals range from light meals, steaks, chicken and fresh fish.
Awesome memories and experiences at this wonderful restaurant. Their Strawberry Daiquiri just does it for me! We recently took the world renowned Pastor Ray Bevan from Wales in the UK, to this lovely restaurant while he was visiting here in PE, SA. One of my favourite PE restaurants. We enjoyed a delicious lunch! Good food, good wine and awesome company! Also beautiful beachfront views. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. Service, food and drinks was great. Definitely worth visiting for a lovely time with family and friends!

We're about good food, and good people. We make everything ourselves, bases are slow fermented daily to create an unique flavour, we hand-roll the pasta everyday, the vinaigrette, desserts, ice-cream is all made by us...and we only use fresh local produce
We had diner with 5. Reservation was vlear but not necessary. Calm evening. Waiter was very friendly. I ate a nice honey mustard salad adapted to my intolerances. I got extra avocado instead of cheese. Nice atmosphere and decoration.

We are situated on left hand side to Diaz Road cut se sac. The building is double story with the restaurant being on the first story. It has three parts to the restaurant. The fine dining inside section. This side will do you well when wanting to impress.
Always liked this restaurant but It's a couple of years since we last dined here. We heard the restaurant had changed and we decided to have dinner with friends. Loved the new look but the 'rickety-looking' entrance staircase was very familiar. The menu looked welcomingly familiar - ribs were the special for the day and we all ordered them. Service was pleasant and efficient. Not sure that the number of ribs added up to the advertised 450 gm, but they were attractively served with three small racks. I really enjoyed the first two racks and all that went with it, but my third rack was terrible. Very overdone with little meat. What meat there was I eventually spat our because I simply couldn't get it down me. Everyone else had a good meal. I let my plate be taken away with a complaint and the waitress quickly returned and asked if I would like a replacement rack - In retrospect I think I should have accepted this and added it to my wife's take-away pack, but I said "No thanks - we have all finished eating". When the bill came I commented that I thought some allowance should have been made for the unsatisfactory ribs - the answer was "Well we offered you a replacement; what do you want?" - my reply was to suggest a voucher for a free glass of house wine with my next meal. (I though this very fair as I would have to return to use the voucher.) This was refused by the manager who hardly looked up from the table where he was eating. The waitress was clearly embarrassed as we left. I don't feel the waitress should have to act as a go-between a dissatisfied customer and management and the incident spoiled an otherwise pleasant evening.Thank you for sharing your concern and opinion, we again apologise that this was your experience. In all fairness though it sounds that we may have been judged before you entered as in your opinion some of our efforts to upgrade since your last visit were still rickety, and not possibly still a working progress, as you seem to have liked all else that have changed, yet still felt familiar. As you have mentioned you ordered the already marked down "special" meal of the day at a mere R99 per person that includes a free glass of wine, hence we only offered to replace what you were not content with as we feel this to be fair approach in an already discounted meal. The waitress checked with me as she should in any such instance and as manager in the corner and owner I recommended this is how we address it, my apologies for not meeting with your personal expectations in further addressing the matter after you kindly declined what was offered and then not making a further fuss as you left, as in our opinion you apologise and then not spoil the rest of your time by making a fuss. Also my apologies for not interrupting my dinner as you left, I however recall saying thank you and goodbye. The waitress acted as instructed, apologized and you kindly declined, does this justify a poor rating and discrediting our hard work, reputation and overall rating on this platform I'm left to ask.Thanking you again for sharing your opinion and concern. Please feel free to contact us directly should you wish to further discuss this.Kind regards.Owner and Management.

Steakhouse with cosy atmosphere excellent service and delicious high quality food. All Steaks are handpicked for best quality and cooked exactly as requested! Featured Wine Wall with wines from well-known South African wineries. Booking essential.
A small menu focused around meat. Beef, pork and game variety. This place is in an upcoming trendy area and therefore parking is in the hands of the street g-ds. Inside you treated to a small cosy bistro with three different rooms. Fair price for the meats and the steaks are always cooked to your satisfaction. This could be a nice romantic spot.
