Called in to Carola Ann's for a quick lunch hoping to find something on the menu that wasn't pizza or burgers. Opted for the roasted vegetable dish which was absolutely delicious. Specials included a huge slice of home made quiche with salad which also went down a treat. Travelling in a group on a fixed schedule so unable to go back but looked like it would also be a great little place to stop for coffee and cake - the muffins on the counter were definitely calling to me!

We decided to catch a quick lunch on our way home and what a lovely suprise we got at Orangerie at Le Lude. The picturesque setting with stunning views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains and beautifully prepared meals makes this a definite must for all visiting Franschhoek.

Luckily I made a reservation in time to get a table, as they fill up very quickly, even out of season.My favourite dishes are still on the menu, soufflé starter, the prawn pasta and the artichoke risotto. Lovely local wines by the glass or bottle, and Inne's naughty sense of humour all add up to make a wonderful experience.

Whenever we tried more than the basic South African food, we failed except here - this is a truly astonishing chef restaurant that is worth every Rand it costs (especially in August when the price is discounted...) We were a little nervous about trying this social table concept because weâre not the most social people but we are sooooo glad we decided to give it a try! The atmosphere is super cosy and friendly inside the restaurant. The owner Julia and her sous-chef Melissa are so genuinely friendly and passionate about food that they really made this experience extraordinary for us! Most of their customers are tourists so it allows for meeting people from all around the world and sharing travel experiences. Julia has selected some local wines and then drew up her menu based on the pairing with the wines. The menu features local seasonal vegetables, oysters, king clip, ostrich, beef two ways, and of course a delicious dessert! Every plate was thought out to perfection with lots of flavors that complimented the wines perfectly! All the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, and we loved tasting high end South African food! We loved when Julia took time to sit at the table with us to join the conversation. Everything was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! We loved everything and had the most wonderful and memorable evening! Thank you so much!
