The exciting addition to Clico was the new restaurant opened in October 2015. Off-street parking accessible from Jellicoe Avenue allows for easy access to Clico Restaurant. Clico has become renowned for being an intimate establishment, offering personalis
Creative menu that will satisfy any foodie, making use of seasonal/local ingredients, presented beautifully by a chef who obviously takes pride in his work. He made a point of visiting our table when we arrived. We stayed at the hotel and liked the food so much we ate at the restaurant every night rather than venturing out. We couldn't imagine finding better elsewhere!Dear gmw725, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. It's lovely reading how you enjoyed your time and Clico and we proud to hear how you enjoyed the meals and that you got to meet our Chef. Who is indeed a very creative chef. We look forward to having you back with us real soon. Kind RegardsJaco Wheeler

Lanser's on Main serves exquisite home-styled Italian and French food with an ambience to match. Weâre open from 11:00 â 21:30 every day, except Sundays. Weâre always looking forward to welcoming you.
It all started well. The interior looked fun, quirky and arty and the chef/owner was friendly and hands-on. The starters were all delicious - our group had the fish cakes, springbok carpaccio and fried haloumi. For mains the T-bone was beautifully done and the pesto pasta good. My porcini risotto, however, was far too rich and porridgy and the pork belly was miles too sweet. I want to recommend to the owner that he adds a few healthier alternatives to the menu. Many modern patrons will take issue with all the rich food, fried starches and highly sugared items. The service was slow and rather absent. Would I go back? Probably not. Thank you for taking the time to post your review, hannetjieeWe're so glad you enjoyed the personal and hands-on service of Lanser's on Main. Our goal is that all of our guests enjoy a relaxed evening with tasty classic Bistro food. For us it's always about the full experience. We're sorry that didn't translate all the way through for you. Thank you for your feedback on food. It's always important to hear from our guests. I am sorry we didn't have an opportunity to chat about your thoughts on the evening. I love chatting with guests about their meals, especially if there's something that doesn't agree with their expectation.Friday evening was a difficult night with a Tenant Opening Party that was going on in the parking lot (we had nothing to do with that). It was noisy and we did have to put out a few fires with regular guests frustrated on the night with the lack of parking. If our attention was lacking, I do apologise.--Lanser

Kream Restaurant is the location to take your partner, friends or business associates for lunch or dinner. The vibe is uniquely upmarket, with an interior, that is designed to wow, but also make you feel welcome. With an extensive wine list, rare whiskey
The new venue is only a average place, guy's really, flies around our table???totally unexceptable.....Starter was good, main dish, lamb shank with a sauce on it,no choice to add myself, uge let down, guy's you dropped the ball here, you used to be Excellent????Dessert, not good, basically enough sweet stuff for 3 people, didn't enjoy. No more of the passion,so sad. Will we go again, not sure, very disappointing.Hello Coen,Thank you very much for bringing your perspective of your dining experience to our attention. Both positive and negative is taken with equal praise by us as both aspects can be brought into consideration to make the Kream experience a success. We especially appreciate your perspective as it is based on past experiences of how Kream used to be. And it is certainly agreeable that Kream is not what it used to be, especially since moving locations. We will take all your points into great consideration so that we can take active measures at improving. The points you mention, like flies around the table, is definitely unacceptable. I hope you will visit us again for a renewed experience, and enjoy the Kream you once loved. The only option for us is improvement, there is no other way. We hope you will give any further details you would like to share by emailing us on [email protected] you very much for your time and consideration.

Always a treat. Arguably Joburg's finest Italian-inspired eatery, serving classic Italian dishes, some with a local flair, and a few other international fine-dining offerings. The risotto is an absolute triumph, as is the gnocchi. The Porcini chicken with pea risotto as a Secondi will rival the quality of any Tuscan Michelin-star offering, and the roasted butternut ravioli with Porcini-Truffle cream and candied walnuts is perfection personified. Desserts are inspirational. The pavlova is incredibly special, as is the Salted Caramel Brûlée with popcorn Gelato. Expect fine dining, beautiful decor, prices that are slightly higher than the norm (although very reasonable if one considers the serving sizes and the quality), impeccable service and a fantastic wine list and drinks menu, with reasonably priced cocktails. This is a top-class establishment serving only the finest of Italian pastas, meats, seafood, desserts and drinks. Not only one of Joburg's finest, but one of the finest Italian eateries South Africa has to offer. Café Del Sol Classico is an institution. You will leave with a smile on your face and an even bigger smile in your belly. Hello BradWow. Thank you for an incredibly written review. This is so refreshing to read and we truly appreciate your honest feedback. You have understood exactly what we are trying to do. Quality food with finesse. We hope to see you soon and again.. thank you. This makes everything we do, worth it.Regards,The Classico team

We spent one night at the Intercontinental just outside the O.R.Tambo Int'l airport in Johannesburg. Lovely hotel. Terrific restaurant. We had lunch, dinner, and breakfast during our stay. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted even better. The wait staff was cheerful, courteous, and knew their menu well. We were impressed with every aspect of each meal. The chef actually came out to visit with the diners and ask their thoughts on the dinner meal. Breakfast was an extensive and beautifully presented buffet, however, we did have in our "package" breakfast off the menu as well. The eggs benedict was excellent. Although I had already my fill from the scrmptuous buffet! Great place to eat...and to stay...when travelling to other destinations in Africa.

No matter what you order, it will be exceptional. I had the steak and wanted to write a poem about it :) Cozy decor with a lovely comfortable outside couch for smoking.

The Black Bamboo offers a truly unique, world-class dining experience, which celebrates the synergy between food, wine and art. An ever-changing a-la-carte menu is inspired by international delicacies with a local twist, and a carefully selected wine list
This was a disappointing evening. The first 3 courses were well presented by the Somuleur who then for some unknown reason disappeared. We requested that the meals be spaced so that we could enjoy a lovely evening seated outside, as we were smokers. Unfortunately, we then had to constantly request the waiter to remove the used wine glasses which were cluttering the table, we had to request that they clean the ashtrays, and then we were advised that the kitchen was closing (21h00?? for an 8 course wine pairing evening). - Thereafter the food was put on the table, with no cutlery and we had no idea what we were supposed to be eating and what type of wine we were being served with that particular meal ! And when we questioned this we were then informed by a waiter - really ?- what happened to the presentation of the first 3 courses??? We were then offered a discount on our bill, in front of our guests, for our inconvenience! We do not make comments at a restaurant so that we can get a discount, but for their benefit. This was most embarassing in front of our guests. It seemed that the restaurant, which came highly recommended, did not properly make provision for a 8-course wine pairing evening. So sorry - but we will not be returning.Dear orpa711, Thank you for taking the time to review us and for informing us of the issues you experienced. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and are deeply disappointed that you received unacceptable service which has been addressed with our team. As you are aware, Ryan has been in contact to discuss the problems. Once again please accept our sincere apology. Kind Regards, The BB Team

Wombles is a destination restaurant which comfortably caters for corporate groups whilst simultaneously accommodating intimate diners.
What a great venue, ambiance, service and food. It was winter and they had fires outside to huddle around, before going in to the restaurant - a bit like going back into the past and reminded me of visiting Zimbabwe many years ago. Definitely an African theme. Itâs expensive, but the food is exceptional and very personalized service, including the owners/managers. Definitely worth a visit - just do it!

Fermier, is an attempt to create a completely self sustainable restaurant. Where we take pride in the produce to create a set menu that is served in a farm style environment.
I had a lovely evening with my mother at Fermier this week I must say.Was a bit hesitant as I lived in pretoria before we moved to the cape winelands where we could go to most of the countries best restaurant as often as we like. Before you even park your car you realise that the focus is not about bragging rights for being rated as one of Gautengâs top restaurants but rather about âless is moreâand all about quality. This thread continued to be followed for the rest of the evening and never disappointed in any way. Quite the opposite. The sommelier Loraine was a darling as well as the waitress whoâs name i fail to remember. This restaurant will easily fit in amongst the best of the best in Cape Town or Franschoek.Well done to Adriaan and his team. Hard work, self belief and passion always pay off in the end.
