Sifnos (Greek: Σίφνος; the spelling Siphnos is obsolete in English but still by convention often used to refer to the island in ancient times) is an island municipality in the Cyclades island group in Greece. The main town, near the center, known as Apollonia (pop. 869), is home of the island's folklore museum and library. The town's name is thought to come from an ancient temple of Apollo on the site of the church of Panayia Yeraniofora. The second-largest town is Artemonas (800), thought to be named after an ancient temple of Apollo's sister-goddess Artemis, located at the site of the church of Panayia Kokhi. The village of Kastro (118), was the capital of the island during ancient times until 1836. It is built on top of a high cliff on the island's east shore and today has extensive medieval remains and is the location of the island's archeological museum. The port settlement, on the west coast of the island is known as Kamares (245).

We spend some of our days in Kamares at Kima .. The sunbeds were clean and comfortable, the food was delicious and the service always friendly and welcoming! I can truly recommend to try the mediterranean burger ;-)

With an hour to wait for the bus, we stopped at To Konaki for a coffee. Despite the lovely location and view and the upmarket feel of the place â you can see this in the photos - and the iced water and the very nice little biscuit came with the coffee, this was the cheapest coffee that we have had in over 15 or 20 places this trip. On top of that, service was very good and the lady was very pleasant.

POUDA is situated in a beautiful sea village in Sifnos called HERONISSOS ....Neatly set exactly on the beach, it has the best location to drink your coffee or enjoy a snack , sweets , ice cream , lunch or even dinner. Also perfect for a drink late at night followed by a midnight swim ! Reasonable prices. Great food and friendly service. The owners , Andonis and Flora are always eager to please . A must when in SIFNOS !!!

The café is located close to the harbour surrounded by tavernas and other shops. We stopped by and had an espresso while waiting for our boat to arrive. The coffee was OK but expensive (3,50 EUR) which seem to be the standard on the island.

'Lovely friendly bar and they give you snacks with drinks overlooking the sea, good selection of drinks with snack and coffee and snack menu sandwiches salads etc.

Avoiding the unpleasant 'Old Captains's Bar' nearby I used to go for a coffee or drink to the nearby 'Stavros' with relaxing, spacious outdoor seating and a great view over Kamares bay.A 'Happy Hour' between 6-8pm is offered for certain drinks like Mojito, Aperol, Caipirinha. I tried them all during my stay. On the bill the regular amount is mentioned, so I had to tell the waitress that there is a Happy Hour on offer. The Aperol and Caipirinha were quite okay, but the Mojito came with rocket leaves to add some green to the sparse mint leaves and this must have been the probably worst Mojito I ever drank.One evening I passe there with my wife after dinner. I asked for Greek coffee and a Metaxa. The Greek coffee came unasked in a double portion, which I don't like and which is not the tradition.

We came here because reviews were wow. Not. Interesting menu but very bland execution. Chickpeas salad was one of the more boring I ever had, moreso in sifnos. Octopus was itself great but the cauliflower lime garlic sauce was absolutely tasteless. Cocktail was awesome. Place is nice. Shame food was just really badly executed Greetings from Sifnos, Greece!We promise to take into consideration your comments regarding our chickpeas salad and cauliflower sauce in order to ace our recipes but to be honest, we have been many times complimented in the past for these exact dishes. As you may imagine, not all dishes/recipes fit all tastes.We will be glad to have you as our guest in the future so we may try to impress you.
