Missed eating here on my last visit to Lipsi, more people about in June and so there was a nice atmosphere with local children playing in the square and folk exploring the chora. Not particularly hungry so just had a small bowl of olives followed by two large very tasty meatballs in a rich tomato sauce and a heap of hot crispy chips. With a beer, large water, bread and a complimentary ouzo it was 11.5â¬, great value for money!Served by a lovely lady in a flowery dress who looked like she'd just come out of the kitchen in a local home. What a refreshing change from some of the more stylish places - give me this any day!
Located at the end of the town quay, Calypso Café is our first port of call when visiting Lipsi.Whether you arrive by yacht or Ferry (just a few minute walk towards town) the Calypso Café is well worth a visit for just a drink, breakfast or a good snack. Highly recommend their juices. Lipsi is quite a hilly island but hereâs a café that you can enter without having to climb up steps and has easy wheelchair access.Toilets, free Wi-Fi (good connection), friendly staff, great breakfast, good coffee, cold beer â what more could you ask for on a hot sunny day on arriving in Lipsi.

Stis Vassos tou Aspraki, which has been established since 1956, the day begins with a freshly brewed Greek coffee, light soft music, continuous with ouzo time all noon and late evening,by the sea,up to late night for drinking and dancing.
Tasteful mezedes but the prices are high. You can do better than that. The corner that the store is situated helps a lot but either you can offer special meze - what the other don't have so you can excuse the prices you have. Thank you

Il ristorante si trova nei pressi del porto sotto all'omonimo albergo.
We preferred a busy tavern called Calypso on the shore. We ordered octopus Carpaccio, cheese saganaki, meatball, grilled calamari. It was a very crowded, big and having a professional service. We generally liked that we ate. Carpaccio is not as good as grilled octopus but it also a nice taste with its olive oil and light lemon sauce.

Second visit during a three night stay on Lipsi. Wind had subsided so we were able to sit outside on the terrace overlooking the harbour.Mixed fish skewer and beef stifado washed down with local Kanenas rose wine. Generous portions and chips (cooked in olive oil) to die for! Complimentary water melon to conclude. No coffee served here.Excellent and attentive service from a football fan (of Spurs!) and @Euro35 for two, very good value.

Food was delicious and not ordinary. Fruits and vegetables in tasteful combinations with legumes!! Maybe a little overpriced...

Late September - Just arrived on Lipsi on the early afternoon ferry, dumped my bag and the kind owner of my accomodation gave me a lift up to Platis Gialos. Very busy and was told it was the last day of the season so I was glad I'd headed there. Had to wait for a table but enjoyed the view & people watching. Limited menu, understandably as it was closing for the season, but nevertheless enjoyed a Greek salad and a plate of small fishes before heading for an hour or two on the beach.Service good and staff were very pleasant.Late writing this review but just booked to return to Lipsi in mid June - 11 weeks 6 days and counting!

Niko, his sister Maria and the staff have been delivering great Greek classic dishes, sometimes with a twist, for years now.Tonight's Swordfish steak was no exception - perfectly grilled, still moist and simply served with a side of veg as opposed to the standard chips you might get elsewhere.Niko's wit and charm is as consistently delivered as his food.If they're busy, then there'll be a wait, so if you're short of time and most of the tables are taken, then come back another evening, otherwise just pull up a chair and enjoy the view while waiting with a drink by your side.

We are clearly in a minority here! Given the very positive Tripadviser reviews, we were unsurprised that Manlolis was very busy when we went and we could get only a slanting table on the street, so were always a bit worried our wine would slide off! The staff were busy but always pleasant, and the head chef provides plenty of theatre. But to get to the point. Perhaps we expected too much or perhaps we did not choose well from the interesting & extensive menu but, to be honest, we just found the food very average. However, this one review will not put you off going, and we do hope you will enjoy your meal more than we did.
