South Aegean, Greece Food Guide: 10 Greek food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Antiparos

August 20, 2019 Rebbecca Marino

Reviews on Greek food in Antiparos, South Aegean, Greece. Antiparos (Greek: Αντίπαρος; Ancient Greek: Ὠλίαρος Oliaros) is a small island in the southern Aegean, at the heart of the Cyclades, which is less than one nautical mile (1.9 km) from Paros, the port to which it is connected with a local ferry. Saliagos island is the most ancient settlement in the Cyclades, and Despotiko, an uninhabited island in the southwest of Antiparos, is a place of great archaeological importance.

An authentic little Greek restaurant located only 50 meters from the main shopping/dining street. We had three different starters and the lamb chops and chicken souvlaki. Everything very tasteful and this is surely a place we will visit again.

Came across this place while exploring the island having hired a quad bike and decided to have lunch. Friendly and efficient service together with excellent competitively priced Greek food.Lovely roast chicken with potatoes (great seasoning), spinach pie and best fish roe salad (tarama) that I have ever had! We returned the next day.The setting together with the view of the sea is an added bonus and I would recommend for sure.

We went from Antiparos town to where this restaurant is by ATV that we rented for a day to cruise around the island. This restaurant was a lovely spot to have lunch and we loved the grilled sardines. It’s very simple but it was so tasty.

A generous souvlaki, zucchini fritters, the greek salad, the tsatziki. Loved itAll vegetables comes from the garden in this family driven restaurant. Great service - and the daughters waiting at the tables are really attentive and service minded. Will miss this taverna.

We visited Argo on several occasions 3 years ago and thought it was excellent. Not so much this summer: our lunch here was perhaps the most disappointing during our 1 week in Antiparos this year. Rather tasteless stuffed tomatoes and very average chicken souvlaki, with rather soggy fries.Still very effective and nice service and low prices, otherwise would have rated it lower.

Pavlos Place

I wish I had taken more pictures but I couldn’t wait to taste the delicious food! My absolute favourite was the lahanodolmades (cabbage rolls), closely followed by the bamie (okra) and the melt-in-your-mouth octopus. I think I tried everything on the menu. Fondly remembered are the Papoutsakia (stuffed eggplant), moussaka, gigantes (baked Lima beans) briam (baked vegetables), dolmadakia (vine leaves stuffed w rice), gemista (tomatoes and peppers stuffed w rice) and vlita (boiled amaranth). All served with - not feta, but the local cheese. A must try! However, the rarely remembered tsatsiki (yoghurt dip) needs special mention. Just the right amount of garlic, cucumbers and salt, perfectly balanced and lovingly prepared by Apostolis. Service was great; at the end of the meal we were treated to home baked sweets and ... figs from Pavlos’ fig trees! Ben likes to strum his guitar and the evening ends with lovely Greek music. A balmy night, great food, soft music... simply perfection!

Kalokeri

Refined Aegean Cuisine, with selected local ingredients, following the season & cooked in a creative way.

On the 15th Of August I had the chance to try once more Kalokeri’s cuisine. We were a party of 7, so we had the chance to try 7 starters and 7 main courses. We shared everything and they were all delicious. Plates that we still remember. I will only mention a couple dishes like the excellent cooked tuna and the tuna mussaka. However we had meat too. Diafrsgma and rib eye, both cooked to perfection accompanied by tasty french fries. We made a mistake though. We didn’t try their sweets. Mistake huge mistake. Next time we will try them because they looked delicious. I must say however that a big asset is it’s owner Vana, which along with all her staff welcomes you with a big smile. See you next summer Vana and thank you for reserving a table for us although it was last minute, on the busiest day of the summer.
