This hotel is a small, family-run bed and breakfast in historic Souillac. The staff/owner were gracious and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. I wondered if I would have preferred a room with larger windows facing the plaza, but the plaza could get very noisy on a nice evening. The restaurant across the plaza was excellent.

Lovely setting here for watching the world go by. Had coffee here on several occasions this holiday. Always good coffee and pleasant service. Been disappointed a few times when closed. It would be good to state opening times clearly.

The term Belle Vue is somewhat hackneyed in western Europe, especially in the UK. Over the years, thousands of low-rent seaside B&Bs have called themselves Belle Vue thinking it adds some je ne sais quoi to a place with no such thing. To illustrate my point: in Manchester, where I come from, there's a famous place called Belle Vue that was the venue for a zoo, a funfair, greyhound races, and Speedway tournaments. Trust me; there are no beautiful views within miles of the place. But I digress. Hôtel Belle Vue in Souillac is a large, brightly painted, two-star B&B that sits high above the town and has spectacular views of the Dordogne Valley. I'd booked in on spec as I was having trouble with my car and was awaiting assistance. Luckily there were plenty of single occupancy rooms available. At 64€ including breakfast, it was good value, especially as it has a panoramic terrace and a swimming pool if you fancy a refreshing dip. After spending the day in the sweltering sun having my car towed around, all I wanted was a shower, some grub, and to crash out. Hotel Belle Vue provided most of these requirements. My en-suite room was okay, nothing special, and decorated with bold red, white and black wallpaper popular in the 1980s. The wifi was a little finicky with an outdated log-in protocol but was strong enough once working. A small TV mounted in an obscure corner above the door could have been a little bigger to watch comfortably. After a trying day, all I wanted to do was fall exhausted into bed which I did after an excellent dinner in the Cafe de la Gare opposite. The following morning I took breakfast in the large restaurant. It was a predictable continental buffet of bread, jam, fruit, cold meats, cheese, and machine-made beverages. Again, there was little to surprise, but it was none the worse for that. As the sign outside proudly indicates, Hotel Belle Vue is a two-star establishment, and, to my mind, it went above and beyond that. For a well-priced no-frills family-run stopover as you explore Souillac, then you can't go wrong. As the saying goes: it does exactly what it says on the tin. Oh, and it really does have a belle vue!

Welcoming and cozy hotel in Souillac. Living room with bar and fire place, terrace, garden, and outdoor swimming pool. Free and private car park, and possibility to book an individual garage.
Me and my friend came here to start our backpacking tour through the Dordogne Valley. The room was quiet and comfortable, with a modern bathroom, just few minutes from the railway station. The owner is very friendly and helpful. You can get from her further informations about the region, the sightseeings or the food. And her breakfast service is rich and delicius!! Perfect place! Too bad it was no swimming pool - wether.

Good location, easy to walk to restaurants and shops. Recommended.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this hotel, but to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The hotel to look at is nothing amazing, but the manager, the location and the feeling you get when you stay here are all superb. My room wasn’t particularly large, but the bed was comfy, it had everything I needed and it was spotless. The hotel has a small bar with a few drinks, however if quiet the manager will happily get what you want from the bar next door for you. The pool is a nice addition and I enjoyed lying on a sunbed here and relaxing. I was staying on a half board option. The food I had for dinner was some of the best I have ever tasted. Everything is beautifully presented and the staff are exceptional. I hope to return soon as I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

Le Manoir is an intimate holiday accommodation made up of two buildings: a romantic country manor with three guestrooms: one family suite with two bedrooms and two double rooms. . In lower season we transform the 2 person gites in the renovated coach house into deluxe bedrooms. The garden of almost 1 Ha contains the swimming pool with large sun terrace.
We have spent 9 days at Le Manoir at the end of August. During the booking, the owner proposed us to take a gîte for 5 persons at the price of a gîte for two because of their unavailability. Ok, fine with us. We then performed a bank wire transfer of the whole sum and regret that it was not possible to pay using a credit card, preventing us from having a cancellation insurance. Upon arrival, the owner welcomed us and remained very cordial and available. The Manoir is well located, near many great places to visit. However, we were disappointed for several reasons: - The owner informed us upon arrival that the dish washer was not functioning and that he locked the bedroom with single beds. That is not a very commercial attitude after having told us we would have a large gîte for two. - While discovering the gîte, we realised that the bedroom remained closed with the shutter open and the sun shining in. The temperature was extremely hot and the owner minimised the issue. It is useless to say that we spent an horrible first night. - According to the description of this gîte, a fridge with freezer is supplied. We opened the fridge and discovered that was not the case and regretted it very much in that hot period. - In the evening, we sat in a sofa and realised that it had not been cleaned before our arrival. That was unexpected as the owner requests visitors to pay a supplementary fee for cleaning. - Living in the gîte, we realised that there was not much light in the main room. That is because large gîtes only have one door/window facing the north. - There was no cell network available inside the gîte. The owner invited us to climb the garden to get a connection. - The Wi-Fi was operational but not really usable in evenings when everyone use it. That was fine in the morning and in late evenings. - The noise of cars circulating down into the street was annoying every morning. We were also surprised to hear the horn of trains entering the neighbouring tunnel or the air conditioning of other rooms (not available in the gîtes). Considering the numerous gîtes located in this region, we shall go elsewhere the next time.

Coeur de Souillac is a charming B&B right in the heart of Souillac (as the name says!). I loved the old world feel of the building and street, and our rooms were lovely. Bathroom also lovely with a good shower. Don, the owner was friendly and welcoming, and I didn't have to strain my French language skills as he is native English speaking, which was one less worry. Breakfast was beautifully laid out for us every day, and Don was always so helpful, he even gave us early breakfast and offered to drop us back to the train station as we had to leave at 7am. We would definitely stay here again - great price, great location, very friendly - thank you Don, merci beaucoup a vous!
