Soufriere's backdrop of the Pitons, sea and rainforest provides a picture perfect setting for a visit to this laid-back and relatively undeveloped town in the south of St. Lucia. Considering that its name is French for "sulphur," it should be no surprise to discover the wealth of hot springs and mineral baths. Other great spots to visit include Diamond Botanical Gardens, a slew of pretty beaches and the bike trails that wind through sugar plantation Anse Mamin. Rent a car to see the town.

We are leaving the resort today after a week’s vacation (5/28-6/4). It has been a long time since I’ve been somewhere where I do NOT want to leave and would do anything for another few days! Let me start by saying this is our first ever vacation where we decided to do nothing - just signed up for “full relaxation”. We usually are “on the go - see and do everything “ type of vacation people. So booking a week at a beach resort was a big gamble for us. Would we be bored? Would it not live up to the hype? What would the food be like (we are total foodies). Well it has been THE BEST vacation and we haven’t left the resort in the entire week. The social media images you see (and what enticed us to book our stay here way back in January in the depths of a miserably cold and snowy winter) - yes they are all true and then some! It really is that stunning. Our villa was gorgeous. We we stayed in the one-bedroom luxury villa #702. Breathtaking views of the pitons and the water. The pool and outdoor patio area is stunning and the villa is very spacious and well equipped. There is a 24/7 shuttle service to get you around the resort (it’s very steep and the villas are a fair way from the beach and restaurants) which is easily accessible by the custom cell phone you are given on arrival. Super convenient and easy. The food has been the best surprise though. Good variety of dining styles and options, regular ala carte and also a few specialty buffet nights in the beachside restaurants. We are not buffet people but the couple we did try were excellent. Have to confess though, we fell in love with ordering mojitos and food on the beach each day while relaxing on the chaise lounges under the huge umbrellas. It was our daily slice of heaven Finally a HUGE shout out to the staff! Everyone- and I mean everyone- is so incredibly friendly, welcoming and professional. The staff can’t do enough for you to ensure your vacation is perfect. They made the trip that much more special! They truly are fantastic So - if you’re on the fence about Sugar Beach - we can not recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be coming back again. Sure it’s not cheap - but it’s so worth it.

I stumbled across St. Lucia while browsing places to take a birthday vacation. When I saw the view of the Pitons, I was immediately called to it! When I researched resorts in Soufriere that had great views, most of the prices were astronomical. But I stumbled upon the Green Fig Resort & Spa. I couldn’t believe how affordable it was with the views. The pictures almost didn’t look real. But they had great reviews so I decided to book it and I’m so glad that I did. Michael, the GM greeted us at check in and was one of the friendliest people I’ve ever come across. After being there for a few hours we realized the entire staff was that way. It didn’t feel forced. They all genuinely seemed like they wanted everybody to have a good time. They even seemed as though they were having a good time themselves. While they don’t have TV’s at the bar, Michael went out of his way to set up a projector for me to watch a playoff game and they also helped decorate my room with flowers and champagne while I was out snorkeling (a tour that they booked at a very reasonable price.) The views from every inch of the property are breathtaking, the food at the restaurant is delicious, the drinks from the bar are great. Every room is so spread out that it feels like you’re in paradise alone, yet there was a great vibe at the pool and bar that all the guests of the resort seemed to be lifelong friends. There’s no negative aspect of it. I’ve seen people complain about the stairs or the road to the property but after driving around the island for a week, that’s just an aspect of St. Lucia. While I don’t like to visit the same place twice, there’s something magical about the Pitons and waking up to them each morning, so when I find myself back in St. Lucia, it will definitely be at The Green Fig.

I am not sure how many stars I should give, in one hand the 135 acres very eco friendly resort is beautiful. The breakfast spread was mediocre, and extremely slow, you can wait for 20 minutes plus for your omelette. The beach shuttle was very punctual, and comfortable. They provide towels for the beach, not very good ones, we even had a ripped one. The 3 pools in the resort, they were a little large than a bathtub. You would think that in 135 acres land you would have a larger pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even used their connections to make a reservation at one of the very good restaurants. The power outlets were UK style and needed a converter to use for charging our phones, they provided only one, it was a little challenge to charge 2 phones and an iPad, but managed. The room turndown service very mediocre, in 2 out of 5 days staying they did not change/leave fresh towels. We needed to call and ask for it. They did not replenish the toilet paper, had to call and ask for it. There is a coffee machine in the room that we used every day. They never cleaned the machine or empty the old coffee. The cabin we stayed was, according to what we were told, newly renovated. The outdoor space was excellent, very private and included a lovely hammock, The bed in the room was very large and very clean and very comfortable. The good parts of the cabin ends here, now the not so good parts (You will see pictures of them): Who ever renovated the place must be a very amateur handyman. A lot of screws went thru the walls and the sharp pints were all inside the room. (see Pictures) Outside a half way out rusted nail was an accident waiting to happen, that would end with a tetanus shot. In the bathroom, on the bottom of the toilet the screws were rusted and very dangerously long on both sides. They were a light fixture in the bathroom that accommodates 3 light bulbs, but they only had one light bulb.. The windows were nailed close and nails all exposed.. The floor tiles at the entrance were taped to keep them in place. The faucet in the bathroom was loose. Other than that all good....

Set 1,000 feet above the Caribbean Sea, with breath taking views of Saint Lucia’s Piton Mountains, Rabot Hotel is a space where the sounds of nature replace the noise of day-to-day life, stimulating and inspiring relaxation like nowhere else on Earth. Comprising an open-air restaurant, bar, spa and 14 luxury lodges, here you’ll find a sense of freedom as you reconnect with nature; sustainably living, eating and prioritising your wellness. Previously known as Boucan (the Creole word for a traditional cacao drying shed), the hotel is re-opening under a new name: Rabot Hotel, paying homage to the grounds of the beautiful cacao Rabot estate it resides in since 1745, an organic, sustainable 140-acre cacao farm on the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia. As cacao growers, Hotel Chocolat use every part of their cacao harvests in their Rabot restaurant and Cacao Bar; from the lychee-like pulp to the nutty, buttery nibs, nothing goes to waste. Serving contemporary dishes influenced by the West Indies and Britain, roasted cacao beans feature as a subtle savoury spice and garnish – as well as the rich, deep heart of desserts. Elsewhere, cacao is used for wellness treatments at the Estate’s open-air rejuvenation area. Using fresh ingredients that are gathered each morning – banana leaves, peppermint leaves and cacao nibs – its Cacao Massages are some of the best you'll experience. Blending into the verdant greenery via inside-outside structures, each of the Estate’s lodges brings guests face-to-face with the primordial beauty of the rainforest and Hotel Chocolat’s Rabot Estate cacao farm. Drawing on Hotel Chocolat’s expertise as a chocolatier and cacao grower, Rabot Estate Hotel offers guests the opportunity to discover cacao like never before. Beginning with a walk through the cacao farm and ending with crafting your very own chocolate bar, Hotel Chocolat’s Tree-to-Bar Experience covers all the fascinating stages of making your own chocolate, from fermenting and sun-drying the cacao to grinding, mixing and more – with plenty of tasting in-between… Taking a self-guided stroll through the 140-acre Estate’s valleys and cotes or setting your yoga mat down in the forest surrounding your lodge are also actively encouraged. Leave the headphones behind; exotic birdsong provides the only meditative soundtrack you’ll need. Accommodation at Rabot Hotel is a unique blend of Saint Lucian charm and sleek contemporary style. All rooms are positioned to catch the cooling breeze and are furnished with premium luxury and comfort in mind – and the views are to die for. There are two types of accommodation, both with 4 poster beds, Ceiling fans, Complimentary wireless, Mini-bar & Open sky rainforest showers.
We had read lots of reviews on here before booking and had been a little apprehensive - we needn’t have! We had an AMAZING time and loved everything about this hotel. From some of the nicest staff I have met, including the bar tender who gave me an idea of how to create my favourite cocktail to happy go lucky waitresses who loved to have a laugh. The grounds are stunning and the walks you can do around the estate are like you’ve walked into Jurassic Park. If you ask at the desk they give you details of each of them. Project Chocolat is a fun experience too. The sunset from the restaurant and the balcony on the Luxe Lodges is something you can’t recreate.

La Haut or Le Haut literally means "the height" in Patois, a French dialect that is commonly spoken by St. Lucians. La Haut sits on a hill overlooking Soufriere, one of the oldest towns in St Lucia.Part of a 52-acre former coconut and cocoa estate, the main Guest House possesses a unique history. Nearly 100 years old, the main guesthouse was originally a cocoa house used for fermenting and drying cocoa beans hand-picked on the estate. In 1995, the building was converted and refurbished into a 6-room guesthouse. The nearby cottage was a former copra house where coconuts were once processed.Although the rich aroma of cocoa beans no longer wafts through the air, at La Haut you can enjoy the perfume-scented, tropical fauna or the salty breeze that blows off the Caribbean Sea.
The front office staff are amazing. The location of the hotel is second to none with stunning views of the Pitons. The rooms themselves are well stocked but could use some updates. The restaurant on site is currently closed which made meals a little challenging without a vehicle but again the front desk staff were extremely helpful

Samfi Gardens is a newly established family owned property which offers accommodation in eight (8) self-contained villas, 7 of which are called Vacation homes and 1 of which is called Honeymoon Suite. Bed sizes ranges from small cots to Queen and King Size bedding. Our villas are fully equipped and provide a comfortable rejuvenating setting.
The view is very nice but you have to think about renting a car or hiring a driver for a day if you stay there longer than one day… there are a few nice restaurants in the area, you can walk to Beacon during the day but not at night

In the heart of soufriere, we serve as the classic and plentiful rest and vacation spot in the south of the island. There is easy access to public transport and a variety of captivating activities to part take of when visiting our fair town.
Church Street Guest House is in the center of Soufriere, which is a very picturesque town, but also very basic. In general better for a day visit than a longer stay, and more South/Central America than Caribbean paradise (unless you really spend lots lots of money...) To start with the positive, our room was nicely furnished with a small kitchenette we used to make breakfast. We had an own bathroom, a bit basic, and overall it was clean. The star of the guesthouse was Jessica, who took care of everything: when the power went out while my husband standing soaped under the shower, giving us recommendations where to go, arranging for a very good and reliable driver, Bradley (excellent!), and trying all she could to make the stay as good as possible. Thanks so much for that!! The area around the house was so-so, and especially on the first day (Friday) it was so noisy in the village with awfully loud rap music until 4 a.m., that we hardly could sleep. This, and the price - which was reasonable for St. Lucia but overpriced when compared to other parts in the world - and most likely also our wrong expectation, as we expected a smooth and trouble-free and quiet holiday, does not allow a rating higher than 3.

The best secret in St Lucia! Caille Blanc Villa & Hotel - this side of heaven. A private luxury boutique hotel with a 65’ infinity pool overlooking the majestic Pitons and Caribbean ocean. Each suite is uniquely appointed with canopied hand carved four poster beds; luxurious private bathrooms; and air conditioning with fantastic views. Rent an individual suite for a romantic getaway with a candle lit dinner or the entire villa residence with all six suites for a spectacular wedding or family vacation. Our Pavilion restaurant serves our signature breakfast daily, along with lunch and complete dinner selections.
The villa is incredible: beautiful architecture and details, wonderful staff and service, comfortable beds and great A/C. The food is fantastic, and chef Andre was happy to accommodate food allergies. We loved the intimate setting and meeting other couples. Our room was the Upper Temple, super spacious and had an incredible private balcony space. We highly recommend! FYI the drive up to the villa is a rutted, winding, single-lane dirt road. The villa has an incredible transportation team, and they took great care of us!

The studio was extremely clean very well equipped, modern, great air-conditioning, TV that you could Netflix, fully stocked kitchen, powerful shower, really comfy massive bed, outdoor area with beautiful local flowers and vegetation including passionfruit and grapes I could not have asked for anything more. The location is excellent two minutes to a local shop and bakery in one direction and four minutes to a big supermarket in the other direction not forgetting the eight minute walk to the beach, and three minute walk to the best lunch place in town Fedos. It seemed like I was the first guest after closing for COVID and reopening. I was a little hesitant to book, but my stay turned out to be excellent. There is no front desk, but the staff from the restaurant downstairs help me check in. And everything operated smoothly for my 3 night stay. I was given the WhatsApp of Shane. If I needed assistance with arranging transport general, contacted him. He was very responsive and knowledgeable. Every evening I sat out on the porch and was mesmerized by pitons, such an excellent view. It was extremely relaxing. The restaurant downstairs was excellent. And the snorkeling in the bay near the hotel was decent too! And the WiFi was some of the best in the Caribbean.
