Molto vicino all'antica tenuta!

On arrival at this B and B , our first thought was there is nowhere to park And as there was no one to greet us this was a problem. The room itself was very nice, but we were told it would cost 15 Euro’s a day for parking offsite. Also the breakfast consisted of a voucher for a bar down the road and would be one cup of coffee and a croissant. Hardly a breakfast! In the cupboard was an empty coffee jar and 2 sachets of sugar. What a welcome! We said we would only stay one night and offered to pay for 2 nights. The owner became very angry and insisted we pay for 5 nights. We rang Booking.com who agreed to pay us some compensation. Our credit card would not work and while we were on the phone to the card company the owner flew into a rage, started shouting abuse at us and told us to get out, swearing at us down the stairs . This was very frightening and also left us with nowhere to stay at 7.30 at night. We drove around in the dark for hours trying hotels until we finally found somewhere to stay. This was a horrible experience for us and we suggest you beware of this man!

5 stelle meritatissime.

"VILLA CRAWFORD" has reopened in May 2013 after a long and precious period of restoration that has taken it back to its old external magnificence. It's an ancient Villa situated on a clifftop with panoramic terraces and views of the Gulf of Naples, Vesuvius and the Sorrentine peninsul and surronded by a wonderful Mediterranean garden. Sorrent down town is just 2 km far.
Breakfast is simple but not replenished for guests who arrive after the first hour. Once it's gone, it's gone unless you ask for more from the surly host. The views from the hotel are spectacular and accommodations adequate. Everything is worth it in the end.

Villa Elisa is a b & b situated in an ancient villa of the '700, recently renovated, family-run, has two well-appointed rooms with all the amenities. Free wifi, air conditioning, private bathroom, linen, adequate free parking in the garden of the Villa to a small car. Very close at the train station, and to stop the Bus. The distance from the beautiful beaches of Meta is 500 mt. Excellent location to visit the Amalfi Coast, Positano, Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii, Naples etc.
Villa Elisa is an old historical villa positioned in the small Italian town of Meta with very few tourists, which made it more appealing to us. The room we had was clean and spacious, with a balcony overlooking the garden. Breakfast was very good and varied, with fresh fruits, cooked eggs, croissants, etc. Giulia, the owner, was very hospitable and went out of her way to help us during our stay. When we first arrived late in the evening, she dropped us off by car at a nearby restaurant in the town centre; which is about a 15 minute walk away from Villa Elisa. There are two very good pizzerias in the town centre; Mazz & Panell and Annare. Also an outstanding pasticceria / coffee bar with an amazing selection of cakes and pastries. There is a reasonable sized supermarket and cash machine, and all of this is within a stone throw of each other. We arrived in Meta using the Naples - Sorrento Circumvesuvium train. This journey cost approximately €7 (in 2018) for two adults and our 6-year old son travelled for free. You need to check the train time though as it does not run late into the night. Travelling to Pompeii, Herculanium, Vesuvius and Sorrento is cheap and reasonably quick providing you check the train times beforehand. From Sorrento we took day trips by ferry to Capri and hydrofoil to the island of Ishia. Also the Sita buses run from Sorrento train station and using these you can reach beaches on the Sorrento penisular and Amalfi coast. We had a very enjoyable stay at Villa Elisa and felt our holiday overall was very good value.

My family and I loved this place and our stay in Vico Equense. Our hosts, Edoardo and Stefania, were lovely: friendly, obliging, interesting and entertaining. Without any hesitation they offered to pick us up from town and return us to the station. We stayed in a stand alone villa not physically connected to the main hotel. This was perfect for our family of four. The villa has great air conditioning, but because it is so well designed (unlike, say UK homes) it stays cool during the day while you’re out. The wooden shutters are excellent light blocks- I wish we had them in the UK. You needed to set your alarm because light leakage is not enough to indicate the time. It is very quiet, but you do hear anything relatively loud that is happening anywhere in town while on the balcony. The hotel is perched high on the hill, and overlooks the town like a plan view. The view of the town, bay and Vesuvius is gorgeous. It is endlessly entertaining to watch the town’s night life from above. We spent a good 15 minutes watching the passage of an ambulance from the town centre along the winding hill streets to a remote section. There is a light show of some description nearly every night, and we had the best view. The view from the pool and the bar is fabulous . There is a well stocked supermarket nearby and a very good takeaway pizzeria close by (who will deliver to the hotel). The town centre isn’t far, but it is down a long precipitous set of steps. Going down isn’t too bad, but facing the walk back up can be daunting. We felt very fit after a week of climbing these stairs! The town has a great gelateria, some good and at least one great place to eat. The beach by the Hotel Sporting is very nice and not too crowded. You may balk at paying for a beach, but you just have to used to it in Italy. We paid 7 euro each for the lift and 5 for each deck chair and 6 for an umbrella. The town is perfectly located for access to Sorrento , Pompeii and other drawcards. The train to sorrento costs only 2 euros. You will marvel at a sky clear of contrails. Anyway, highly recommended: we would come back here in a shot.

Soggiorno assolutamente gradevole.

Tutto perfetto.
