Natural accommodations, each one unique, set in tropical gardens along the Lang River. The Seven Elephants Cafe offers both western food and SE Asia food, as well as espresso drinks and house cocktails. The extensive multi-level terrace above the river is perfect for relaxing after a day of caving, hilltribe trekking, or just wandering around the village. Soppong River Inn is one of only three properties in Mae Hong Son province to have been awarded TripAdvisor's Traveller's Choice award for 2016 and 2017.
The staff were friendly but did not speak English so the universal sign language came in handy. The rooms were basic but clean. i would certainly recommend that you upgrade to a river view cabin as the common area overlooking the river is beautiful. We tried the food one night but would not recommend it. If you want something to eat go across the road to the Jungle guest house - The food there is amazing. You can also get laundry service (expensive) at $80B / kg.

Our Family stay in 2 Bedroom bungalow. My mom don't like the location due to it's quite far and up on hill. Very nice river view and big terrace area. Very easy to walk to Tham Lod from my room. Just 5 minute walk.

I have stayed this hotel for 2 nights. Actually, it is very & very hard to book, espetially on weekend or long holidays. Because it is very popular and limited room. I have to book it 2 months in advance ! But the hotel is very nice location despite it is 45 km from city center and have to use mountain road to get there (but the road is good, both scooter and car can reach). The weather there is comfortable all year round. The room was cleaned and no need to use air-conditioner. The best thing of this hotel is the view and relaxing atmosphere. I have enjoyed my stay there.

First stayed here 10 years ago. This place is centrally located and has nice clean, comfy rooms and a beautiful garden with a small communal area overlooking the river. We didn't eat here as there didn't seem to be a functioning restaurant. The staff were friendly but don't clean the rooms each day. Our bathroom had a bad leak so the floor was very wet and dangerously slippery. There is a small 'dipping' pool ((with two large boulders protruding). The guesthouse doesn't offer a laundry service. All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay here but did feel it had gone downhill quite a bit since our last visit which was a shame.

Resort Kanlaya's Eyrie is a full service luxury villa in a spectacular setting with far-reaching views in the heart of the Mae Hong Son Wilderness Area, offering levels of architecture, accommodation and service unmatched in this region. I had the distinct pleasure to stay at this wonderful property based on the recommendation of one of my colleagues from work who knew about this little treasure, and I don't even know where to begin with my review here. Everything from start to end was absolutely amazing and such a unique experience in so many ways that I cannot put into words. The trip began with Philip, proprietor of this lovely estate, personally picking me and my party up from the airport, showing us around town and taking us out for lunch while spending a great deal of time to share his knowledge of the area which ranges from natural history of the area, to the most mundane of details, he knew it all. The property itself is breathtakingly stunning, the photos do not do it the justice it deserves, it is that beautiful. Beautifully appointed rooms and private villas with well thought out architecture and features that ensure you are staying in extravagant luxury the whole time you are there. The owners, Philip and his wife Kaew, are two absolutely lovely people who will not only welcome you with open arms into their house (they also live on-site), but very much into their whole family, quite literally, as you will have the chance to meet many of her family and extended relatives who reside in the area and interact with them. The activities offered by them are amazing, and I wish I had the chance to do and experience more in my 3 days there, but alas I will return to do more. What is not to be missed is the sunrise breakfast which is a truly amazing experience as you watch the sunrise over the mountainous ranges that surround you. I could continue to gush about my time there endlessly, but my advice is if you want to experience something truly different, take the road less traveled, stay with these two and I promise you that you will have stories and photos to bring back home that will be the envy of everyone you share it with.
