Things to do in San Carlos
Just opened this season and it is a great addition to our selection of good places to eat. It could be called a sports bar but more than just bar food. Inside and outside seating. Alex the owner is always there and wants your feedback. Best wings in town, good burgers, sandwiches. Music afternoons and evenings. Recommend give it a try!
This is definitely our go to spot in San Carlos. The burgers are delicious and street tacos are one of our favorites. Olga and all of the staff treat you like family. The music is great and changes nightly. We have tried many other places in San Carlos but keep coming back to Mr. Iguana!

Really good food and service. This place is clean and has a great upstairs patio area that overlooks the street. You will find the food to be to your liking and the drinks plenty smooth. There's usually someone there who speaks English. Bring the family and friends.
We are distinguished by offering new brunch and breakfast options in the morning and, by the afternoon, for having samplers and appetizers, drinks and craft beers to share with friends and family in a warm environment in our terrece with sea view.
This has only opened this year and we just had lunch there today. The menu has something for everyone and for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The waitstaff speaks English. The sliders are delicious and BIG. Three of them are definitely shareable. Itâs located right on the Beltrone and outside dining is noisy. We will add it to our eating out rotation!

Started going here for the live music, the outdoor dining and the fabulous pizza. Then we had them cook the fish we caught one day, and that was amazing. Lately, I've been hooked on their chili rellenos: two ginormous peppers stuffed with lots of cheese and dipped in egg. Rice and beans and salsa to top it off. There's definitely enough for leftovers. The BBQ ribs are good as well. So far, haven't had anything mediocre and we've been here 5-6 times.

Sea food
We ate supper here two nights. Food is good and service is excellent. Right by the ocean. Great view of the sunset.

Eclectic cuisine and Decor full of detail, texture, color, and flavor. All conjugated to perfection with an inspired hint of our beautiful Mexico.
This is an elegant setting with an impressive menu which fails to deliver as a quality restaurant. Our hosts recommended this restaurant as having the best cocoanut shrimp in San Carlos. We went there specifically for that dish. When I walked in I told the maitre d' of that recommendation and he said, "She is absolutely right." He seated us, took our drink orders for two gin martinis and then gave us two vodka martinis. When we were ready to order our meal, he then informed us that they did not have any shrimp that night. He should have informed us of that fact earlier as it was obvious to even an inexperienced restauranteur that we came to have shrimp. My wife then ordered lobster and I ordered blackened fish. When her dinner arrived it was two huge tails, enough to feed two hungry men. While it was very good, she should have been told that it was a huge portion. As she had already had an appetizer, she took three of the halved tails home. My blackened fish was so overdone I had to cut it with a knife and fork. To top it all off I asked if they had any sauvignon blanc wine and was told yes. I then ordered a glass of the Mexican Blanc y Blanc for myself and a glass of sauvignon blanc for my wife. They gave us two glasses of the Blanc y Blanc.Good ambiance and a good menu do not make a good restaurant. Good food and good customer service do. Bonifacio's needs to understand the difference between the two. I am always disappointed when something starts so well and ends so terribly.HelloI am truly sorry about not having shrimp that day, The manager should have been aware that the supplier had not shown up and definatelly advice you. About the martinis...this was probably a language problem...she is new and still learning english.... She is a wonderful lady and we are giving her the chance to learn the ropes... most of the times I great comments with regards to herWith regards to your lobster, they are very fresh, tasty, and local, uniformity in size is not something we can really do, if a batch particularly small, we add a lobster, but once in a while they are quite large (you were lucky!!!...no complain should come on that) its one of our best dishes, I personally love it *offcourse, I am bias, I designed it, hahaha)With regards to your fish (which I also designed) the menu specifically states /burned fillet of fish with parmesan *the menu does not say blackened.....it literally says burned/. thats what gives it a special flavor...anyway its suppose to be like that...but sorry it was not to your likingmy best to you and I do hope you come back for those spectacular cocunut shrimp, you wont be disappointedThank you for your comments, they always help us improve

Our group was disappointed that a restaurant in a beach community had no fish. It's a puzzle. But two of us had shrimp -- one order sauteed and the other fried. Both were good and in generous portions. The pulled pork sandwich as served on a hoagie bun and was flavorful. The taco salad was long on lettuce but was good.Atmosphere is dim and dominated by TVs.

Last year this restaurant was our top pick. This year - not so much.Don't get me wrong. The staff is a delight and the music is great. But the prime rib was undercooked.A second visit found us ordering hamburgers. This time my burger was overcooked.Third time - well the fettucine was delicious. And a fourth visit for Sunday breakfast was very nice.So it was a mixed bag for us. We'll keep trying because we like the staff and atmosphere.

The original beach bar in San Carlos. Fresh seafood, great paninis, cold beer, margaritas and live music. A family tradition.
This bar is steps away from the Sea of San Carlos. Music, great food, & friendly people. This bar is typical Mexicanbar. Not upscale. Tables sit on the sand for customers to enjoy delicious Mexican food & drinks with a beautiful view. Sailboats float gently beyond in the sea. No big waves so it's easy to swim, but too cold in February.
