MayAchik is an eco-hotel located in San Juan La Laguna, Lake Atitlan where you can enjoy a peaceful retreat in a natural environment. Our restaurant offers delicious vegetarian and vegan food, with Guatemalan influences. We organize tours and hikes around Lake Atitlan and San Juan. Come and enjoy our sauna, massages, yoga sessions, and much more. We are also very invested in local community projects, to improve the living conditions of the local Mayan community in the surrounding villages of Lake Atitlan.
Liked · Staff was amazing and helpful. Food is made from scratch, giving you a truely fresh meal. Resort grounds are rustic and cabin like. Bungalows are big and comfy. Sauna was amazingly hot and a good start to our day. Disliked · Beds and linens didn't seem very fresh and clean. As an eco friendly hotel, bathroom is similiar to an outhouse with no no real flush.

Our staff will be please to help you plan your excursions around San pedro & Lake Atitlan, whether it's hiking the volcanoes, kayaking on the Lake, learning about the mayan culture or just discovering the surroundings. Welcome to Mikaso Hotel y restaurante en San Pedro!
My spouse and I spent 9 days at the hotel. The receptionists are always encline to guide us, help organize activities in the area. The whole hotel is cleaned top to bottom every day, our room cleaned only when we needed. There’s a little kitchen where we can cook our own meals, or a restaurant on the third floor with a lot of options. We are used to have hot water in North America so the hot water tank system of the locals make us take a cold shower ?.

This hotel is a hidden jem, its 5-10Qs from Lake Atitlan and is a Japanese hotel with super cheap rooms, hostel accommodation for 50Q's and the cleanest hotel I've ever been in. I hope you can list it as it complies to your requirements and is so much cheaper then other Atitlan hotels
Yes this hotel is quiet and the owner is polite but it is a strange place and a bit grimy. It is super cheap so that is worth considering but i wouldn't stay here again. The walls in our bathroom were mouldy and the whole place is in desperate need for some updating. There is a lot of wasted potential, such as the huge roof terrace with great views but nothing up there except bare concrete and there is no other outside space except the enclosed driveway with a swinging chair in the corner. Also, in the lobby there is tea and coffee supplies for 1Q each but no way to make hot water, it doesn't make sense. It's also really far out and yes you can get a tuktuk for 5Q pp but we like to walk but it's a good 30 minute walk into town. Great if you are driving or are really not keen on going into town but i think there are better places for the same money.

We had a great time at the Dreamboat! Lots of fun activities, the location is awesome, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We had a great time closing down the bar and heading our in Pana. The omelets are terrible though. Just an FYI.

Hotel Amigos Centrally located in the village. -Restaurants, bars and lake access within walking distance. - In the hotel daily cleaning service. - Answering at reception and help 24 hours. - Food and drink shop adjacent to the hotel - Possibility to close hotel attractions.
We stayed for a few nights and had a nice time. We had an upper level private room with incredible views over the lake. The room was large, spacious and clean and the bed was comfy. The rooftop terrace for breakfast was also a great addition! Only thing that let this place down was allowing really, really loud music on the rooftop late into the night several times - it didn't help that it seemed as though it was the owner and his friends who were visiting that were the ones causing the issue.

If you didn’t have Pana on your bucket list, trust us when we say you should! We promise you’ll never want to leave. The relaxed pool and garden of Selina is the perfect base for you to relax between your adventures around the lake. At night, Selina’s separate lakeside Beach Bar is the perfect place to catch sunset before partying the night away. You’ll feel right at home in Panajachel (Pana) located on the shores of Lake Atitlan. A haven for hippies and bohemian culture, you’ll be amazed at the rich history and awe inspiring volcanic views. Start your day with a kayak around the lake before shopping for souvenirs in Panajachel’s vibrant street market. Enjoy one of some of the best sunsets in the world or spend some quality time learning traditional Mayan weaving methods. It’s the perfect mix of expat, traveller, and Mayan culture.
We stayed in the loft (which is their largest room I believe) and it smelled of a combination of sewage and gasoline the entire time. The service... well lack of service is abhorrent, extremely slow and staff just do not care. First day I ordered drinks and it took them over 15 minutes to make because the employee doesn't know how to multi-task and kept stopping to do other things, when he finally completed the drinks rather than give them to me so I can pay and be one my way he left and went to the kitchen to handle something else while I just stood there waiting without my drinks. The next morning I stood at the "Order Here" area of the bar for over 10 minutes while several staff walked by numerous times (making eye contact) yet never coming over to actually assist. It wasn't until I walked over to the reception desk (where surprise surprise no one was actually there) to complain that someone finally approached said they would be right with me, but again another 5 minutes waiting and NOTHING (also no one ever came back to the front desk while I was waiting). As a digital nomad who travels to a new destination every month had great hopes for a concept like this but was left underwhelmed and disappointed. Will not be using them on future travels for sure.

Dont get me wrong I like most music. But the 'music' coming from this place isn't music. I describe it as a besrt rate monitor with bass. It's horrendous. 11am through to 2am the next day. The staff on reception are great, along with the kitchen and waiters. Plus the food is nice. The rest is rubbish to be honest, the rooms are hot and sweaty. You can hear every other room. The pool area is welcoming but once you hear the bass you want to run into the lake, which the entrance from the hotel is dirty. It has so much potential to be honest the music ruins a lot of it plus the entrance to the lake. Stay elsewhere unless you like bassy music.

I normally don’t leave negative reviews because I’m a pretty low-maintainence, “go with the flow” kind of traveller - but the Sababa was by far the WORST resort I’ve had the displeasure of staying. First off, they have a very shady, CASH ONLY policy for paying for your reservation when you arrive (which wasnt stated anywhere on their website or Expedias site). And what makes it worse is they only accept $20 USD bills if you’re paying cash…wtf is that about? Also, they take your actual passport (they don’t make a copy), and put it in plastic binder, on the shelf?! (Not even in a safe!) You would think that is the worst of it, but my room had no hot water and the tub did not drain for TWO days! Please do not make the same mistake I did. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

Hostal Del Lago is a popular lakeside hotel. A social place with nightly activities, from live music and movies to theater events. We offer simple accommodation with economic pricing. Our hotel is more about the time spent outside of your room. We are known for our friendly staff and family style atmosphere.
The WORST hostel owner I've ever encountered! I only stayed there for one night when I had planned several days. It was Friday night roughly 6pm, most of the hostel guests were from Isreal and they got together to cook for their Shabbat dinner, they were cooking food for everyone staying at the hostel which was very nice of them to do for strangers that they had met that day. Fast forward to 8pm, every guest from the hostel was having dinner together in the common area, my girlfriend and I were fascinated by their culture and learning a bunch about their culture/religion. Then out of no where the owner starts screaming at the top of his lungs at us, "SHUT THE F*CK UP, SHUT THE FU*K UP, I WILL COME DOWN THERE AND FU*K YOU GUYS UP, JUST SHUT THE FU*K UP". We all just stopped what we were doing and were shocked at what just happened, this was about 9pm and it wasn't late, we weren't loud and the common area is located at the farthest end of the hostel, far away from any rooms. The owner just kept screaming at us. I would not recommend this place to any fellow travelers, definitely not family friendly either. After this whole incident, everyone that witnessed it left the next day, even their volunteers/employees.
