Disappointed

Reviewed By jdma2022

Noisy pipework from adjoining accommodation, generally old worn out furniture, bed and floor creaky....no attention to detail in rectifying small faults eg bathroom handle loose and incomplete, shower hose leaking, just needs a washer, toilet seat broken, no handle on integrated fridge door, light switch faulty. Access road is shockingly bad, riddled with soòo many pot holes and its a quite a distance from road to accommodation, so come in an off road vehicle. Described as chalet, but is joined to three adjoining units, hence noise. For anyone staying longer, an oven would be beneficial and there's no laundry facilities..TV was minuscule.

Lovely family run B&B

This is the 2nd time I've stayed here and as per the 1st time, it was excellent. I had a single room which was warm and cosy with plenty of refreshments (tea, coffee, biscuits and a chocolate!). The WiFi was perfect too. Breakfast was good quality and plenty of it. The host, Ruth, was very warm and friendly and provided useful local information. This will be my first choice when I'm visiting this area from now on.

Long stay - 10 weeks

Reviewed By Trip245413

I had the pleasure of staying here with my husband for 10 lovely weeks due to work being carried out on our home. The owner Theresa was lovely and welcoming from the get go. She was kind and helpful throughout our stay and nothing was too much trouble. Housekeeper Karen was very attentive and ensured that the whole B&B was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay. All staff on site were friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Parking was not an issue for ourselves. Breakfast was perfect for us as we were not tied to strict times like some B&B's and the choice was plentiful considering that Solihull was a stones throw away which also offered a larger choices of breakfasts/brunch. Theresa was very informative of the local hotspots for good food and takeaway leaflets were displayed in communal areas. We noted that this was particularly useful for guests that were not familiar with solihull and the surrounding areas. Anything required during our stay was provided for us and this was particularly useful as my husband has a disability which limits his mobility on some days. Barney the dog was another charming addition the to B&B, greeting each guest who came to stay. The communal area meant that we were able to mingle with other guests and this created a homely environment filled with laughter and good times. We were very glad to be stopping in such a lovely setting for 10 weeks and will be highly recommending anyone who requires accomodation - long term or short - to Station Approach and I shall be dropping by whenever I am in the area to see how Theresa, Karen and Barney all are. If you are looking for a genuinely homely B&B with a fanatastically central location to Solihull, look no further. Thank you both for accomodating us during our stay, it was the best B&B we have both ever stopped in. We will have fond memories of our times stopping with yourselves.

Hidden Gem.

We haven't checked out yet, but feel the need to rate 5 stars already. This amazing, family run b&b is an absolute hidden gem. The rooms are stunning, spotless and comfortable. We have an ensuite, king bed, free wifi, a wardrobe and television with plenty of channels. We are staying due to a wedding, but I came back early while my partner enjoyed the rest of the evening. I was feeling under the weather (not covid related!) And the very kind Lady who owns the property with her husband offered paracetamol, found me a fan and both her and her husband are happy, friendly hosts! I can't get over the honesty bar, there's a beautiful kitchen where i look forward to breakfast tmo due to reading other reviews i think it will be lovely! Anyway, the honesty bar in their beautifully decorated and kitted out kitchen/dining room, is kitted out with plenty of drinks and snacks, and you just leave the money for what you have taken. We had no cash on us, and the owners were more than happy to allow me to continue using the kitchen, and to settle with my card tmo. I will definitely be coming back here just for a quiet escape! Never stayed anywhere with such personal touches, and not one bad review. Very glad we chose to stay here! Thank you for having us!

Absolutely awful

Absolutely filthy place. Description is nothing like reality. I have never stayed anywhere as disgustingly dirty as this place. The breakfast was a tray in the room of a couple of prepackaged items and a carton of milk in a dirty fridge that had been opened. We couldn’t get away quick enough. This place has got to be a health hazard. Do yourself a favour and stay away

Okay but nothing to wrote home about

Reviewed By carlingfordgreenway

My rating of average takes into account the (low) price I paid for two nights (<£100) for a single room. The room is tiny. I personally found the bed uncomfortable as I like a firm mattress. The bathroom is mega-tiny such that you have to navigate in a confined space. There is a kettle and coffee and tea. I had a couple of cups of coffee the first night and morning, went out for the day and when I got back the dirty cup was still there and no new supplies. I could, I’m sure, have mentioned it - but that’s another trip downstairs and I was in a rush. The point is a lack of attention to detail… I think average is fair…I doubt I would stay there again as I thought the evening meal I had there was overpriced and Solihull an back in a taxi for night two was another £20, at which point you’re into the same sort of price as an equivalent Solihull hotel…

First class B & B

Reviewed By chymechurner

I'm really surprised to see LL not getting a higher rating. It is a trad B&B, in that it offers simple overnight accomodation at a competitive price. Booking near my time of travel it cost less than a Prem Inn or Travail Lodge. Location is excellent for NEC visits. The rooms are very clean, have password protected WiFi. Some nice touches include, tea, coffee and a couple of choccy biscuits as well as soap and shampoo in the shower room. Optional cooked breakfast was made while I waited, and tasty. The owner was friendly and did not mind making breakfast a little earlier than usual.
