The hotel is comfortable and very well run. The huge black mark is the restaurant. We anticipated a fairly comfortable, mildly expensive restaurant offering contemporary cuisine. Frankly the service was remarkably bad -- certainly the service in the average pizzeria would be far more attentive, friendly and refined. For instance, when we finished one course, each of us left the cutlery on the plate. The waiter then dumped the cutlery on the table so that he wouldn't need to replace it. The cuisine was not much better. Our fish was drowned in at least 250 ml (one full glass) of an extremely sweet sauce. Fortunately we could rescue some of the asparagus risotto as it had been shielded by the fish. For dessert I opted for fresh fruit, and that was actually very good. The price would have been justified if the service and the cuisine were much much much better. We may stay at this BW hotel in the future but we will certainly be very very cautious with respect to the restaurants of BW hotels.

Bed and Breakfast near champagneIn the historic Laon, Soissons, Reims area, you’ll appreciate the charm of a welcoming house from where you’ll discover a very rich region in matter of Architecture, History, Gastronomy and Leisure .Three guests rooms with private sanitaries are arranged in a 19th century water mill raised in a park crossed by a river. We serve a copious continental breakfast . We also propose to you our Guest Table.
this place is an oasis of calm and peace. Very far from the loud cities and loud groups of turists here we can have a good rest and good walks. We had the chance to visit some of the nearby villages. As we are travelling with our 3 years old daughter she was also very happy to have so much space and to meet the horse, the donkey and the cat. The food cooked by Anne-Sophie is very good.

We stayed one night at this wonderful B&B. What a lucky find for us. Daniel, our host, could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. The establishment is unique. With many creaks in the floor boards and very creative decor. Looking for wine glasses after a long day on the road, Daniel pulled out his one China! The rooms are small but very functional and the beds were comfortable. A small breakfast was prepared for us in the morning and it was very filling. Daniel recommended a couple eating establishments and while one was filed the other was terrific. A very pleasant stay and would highly recommend. There is street parking available as it is in a residential area.

After spending 3 Saturdays in a row staying overnight at this IBIS hotel in Soissons, I can recommend this no frills hotel with confidence. Room meets all the basic requirements - clean, comfortable bed, adequate shower, WiFI and TV. Only negative is there are a few minor spots of mold in and around the shower. The best thing about this hotel is the petit dejeuner breakfast. It is a very well stocked self-serve breakfast, including croissants, butter, yogurt, cheese, espresso machine, fruit, etc. Note, location is behind another hotel so follow signs to IBIS hotel once you're GPS says your ckose.

What can I say? If I could give it 0 stars I would. The room was filthy (considering we’re in the middle of a worldwide epidemic). Our expectations weren’t exactly high as it was cheap and we were literally just passing through for 1 night but we thought it’d at least be clean! Nope! There were finger nails on the bed, cigarette burns in the duvet and the bathroom absolutely stunk of raw sewage from the moment we opened the door! When we booked we let them know that we had a toddler with us, so naturally they booked us into a room with a bunk bed that isn’t suitable for anyone under the age of 6 - mattress on the floor it was then! You would think that was everything but nope! As if all that wasn’t enough, the window blinds were also broken and fixed in the down position so if all the lights in the room weren’t on we were in darkness. We tried to talk to the receptionist just to be met with complete rudeness, and no it wasn’t just the language barrier. She was downright rude from arrival, and we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience. Even to the point we gave up trying to explain about us having to leave before breakfast, and just gave up and paid anyway. Very poor, and absolutely disgusted.

My husband and I planned a trip on our motorcycle and wanted to visit the Musee de la Grande Guerre at Meaux. I spent hours looking for accommodation on TA- I don't like chain hotels on industrial estates and wanted to avoid Disney. I finally took a chance on this place and am so glad I did. I booked a superior double for £66 as I was worried the hotel would be awful, but the massive room was spotless and comfortable. The shower was excellent. The hotel corridors are in need of decoration (pink flock wallpaper) but the rest is fine- clean and fresh. We received a warm welcome from Christian who speaks better English than my French. He invited us to park out bike for free in a secure yard area where we had no concerns about its security. Photos on the wall show other bike groups have stayed- We can be a discerning lot! The hotel is a local bar and had a regular stream of locals enjoying a beer or the really good coffee so the place was exactly what I wanted- a proper French independent business run by Christian and Betty with their charming little son helping out too. We took a walk into town for dinner which was 10-15 minutes away. There seemed to be some kind of needle exchange down the road and we did see a few people loitering around and one man sleeping on a bench. However, having been in Glasgow, Leeds and Birmingham in the last 12 months, I can say that these unfortunates were not at all "in your face" or threatening at all. The town was clean pleasant and tidy and we enjoyed a walk around and a good choice of bistros We slept well, with only the occasional grumble heard from the station across the road. Breakfast was efficient and the usual fare of bread, croissant, coffee and juice for and enjoyed in the bar among the locals for 7.8 Euro each. I would recommend this as a good provincial French Hotel with a friendly family run feel.

An ideal place to stay. Us prepossessing on the outside, the welcome is warm, the room clean and dimly well designed. Close to Laon (an impressive but very odd town) this is a good stopover going to or from The Tunnel.
