A Bulgarian restaurant, situated in a unique spot between the forest and along the river. We offer a varied cuisine with Bulgarian influences, vegetarian options, barbecue, (mid)Eastern cuisine.
the location is nice a lot of green nearby, a playground for children as wellbut the food is very average and the service doesn't deserve a tip
The decor is strange, very formal. The service slow, as if the staff couldn't quite be bothered. However, the food was good and made up for the other quirks. Perhaps the oddest thing? From outside you have no idea if it is open or even a restaurant!
We arrived on horseback thanks to Horse Riding Butch riding school in Borovets. It was a great experience to tie up the horses and sit on the verandah having traditional Bulgarian food (mish mash & dill potatoes) watching the world go by. We were even able to photgraph a kestrel that was hunting just over the road. If you are out walking, riding or cycling it is well worth calling in and is quite walkable in the evening from Samokov if you are up for a stroll.

We went with bunch of friends for dinner. Place was packed. We were able to find a place. Ordered food, it was delivered fairly fast. Dishes werenât tasty. I havenât finished my âchefs specialâ chicken, the server didnât ask why itâs almost untouched. She was good, but not attentive enough. Otherwise there is a nice fireplace, nice Bulgarian style mehana, bathroom was clean, but the food was like bus station bistro type.

Travelled to Borovets in Feb 2019 and ate here on one night. Overall food was average at best especially compared to previous visits and bizarrely the various courses didnât all come out anywhere near together i.e. me and my daughter got our starters 15 minutes before the other people did, the mains came out at varied intervals and some people had ordered portions of chips which came out 10 minutes before their main meals, one person didnât get their main until after all the other people had finished. The duck trilogy which is normally fantastic was overcooked and so a big disappointment. It was a Friday night and so it was busy, but we felt as if we were getting short changed. Weirdly my starter, the trout ceviche was fantastic unlike other courses. Atmosphere and décor is good and waiting on staff very friendly but the food/service is not a patch on what it has been in the past. However prices are still very reasonable compared to the ski resort prices you pay so maybe itâs worth trying it midweek when they are quieter but personally we probably wonât go back unless things change.

We went there because of tge excellent TripAdvisor rating and didn't get disappointed. The food was local style and some of it seemed a bit unusual, but we took it as local specifics. We missed some dressings, but all in all we had a good meal. The bread was the best of all - very tasty and freshly baked.
