Rooms are clean and well. Staff also good. Just one thing if you do breakfast you have to pay. It’s strange for me. Every residential hotel breakfast is including. Hotel management should increase food facilities.

Worst dining experience ever. I arrived on the 8th of August 2021. Go to the hotel at 9 and was told the restaurant was closed due to lockdown regulations. No room service. On the 9th, went to work, got back and went for my evening run. Go to the restaurant at 6.50 and was told the kitchen was closed. There were still diners and kitchen staff members. However, the waiter insisted it was closed and could only offer me a bowl of soup which I rejected. At the mini bar next to the restaurant, it seems the only words the girl could speak in English are, "it's closed" as she refused to serve me even a packet of crisps and a drink. The reception girl was no better as all she kept repeating was that the restaurant closes at 6.30pm to which I posed the question, how am I supposed to guess that if it wasn't mentioned at check-in nor when you saw me going for my run?Where was the manager? Not available. There aren't any other restaurants open in the neighborhood and no one willing to help with finding a taxi to order from elsewhere. This is a full two hours before lockdown. And did I mention they don't serve alcohol, which at this point is irrelevant as I am starving. What a horrible, horrible experience.

With a unique style, which combines the decoration with warm colours and a genuinely African atmosphere, this hotel distinguishes for its intimate nature. The recently renewed bedrooms provide you with all the comfort you need. The dishes of international cuisine served in a pleasant restaurant, together with its bar, promise moments of pure relaxation. Just a few metres from the unique beaches of Beira, this hotel is the best choice for your trip to this region.
This was a lovely hotel to stay in for my two nights in Beira. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly and the restaurant good quality. It's centrally located in the town which makes it easy to get around and at night it was pretty quiet. Would recommend!

This hotel used to be a quiet place, but the last 2 times I was their noted that things have changed. On the wings C and D there is a lot of noise on weekends. It seems they host some parties on the rooms making it difficult to sleep due to the sound of music. I don't recommend this hotel on weekends.

The Montebelo Gorongosa Lodge & Safari is located in the Sofala province, in the central area of Mozambique, at the south limit area of the Great African Rift Valley, within the 4000 km2 area of the Gorongosa National Park. The installations include bungalows and villas, a camping area, a restaurant, swimming pools, a gift shop, children area, multi-functional meeting room with a capacity up to 140 people, a vast network of trails for safaris, as well as walking areas and gardens.
Gorongosa is a very special park, and Montebelo is a great base in which to base oneself during your visit. The hotel itself is well kept, with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. My room (a garden room) was clean and quiet, despite proximity to the main restaurant area. The restaurant itself is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a good selection of local and international food/drink on offer. The food isn't too cheap ($20-$30 for dinner), but you must remember you're deep in the bush here, and costs are higher accordingly. The lodge will arrange transfers from Beira/Chimoio and game drives for you, the latter of course being a highlight. Gorongosa is currently in the long process of being restored to its former glory and, as such, this park can't offer the typical 'Big Five' experience some crave. Rhino, for example, are absent, as are cheetah, hyena, caracal and other species. The park more than makes up for this with a stunning variety of landscapes and, if you're lucky, tremendous wildlife. During my six day stay (11 game drives), we encountered lions and elephants almost every day, fantastic birdlife, porcupine and (a personal highlight) a pack of c.30 mabecos (painted wolves or wild dogs) with pups. The incredible amount of game on the floodplains has to be seen to be believed - I've never seen so many waterbuck in one place! There is even an outside chance of leopard, serval or aardvark. All in all, a very enjoyable stay in a wonderful place. I hope to return soon!

Dou nota 1000. Um lugar muito natural, extremamente calmo e estar em contacto directo com a realidade natural é impressionante e uma experiência única. Pretendo repetir essa visita mais vezes e levar mais pessoas comigo.
