Situated in Jindabyne, the newly renovated Kookaburra Lodge is the best budget accommodation in the Snowy Mountains and has everything you need for a great snow and ski holiday. "So cheap you'll be laughing". The Kookaburra has comfortable, modern, centrally heated rooms. There are a variety of rooms available including doubles, en suites and dorms, some also have TV, fridge plus tea & coffee facilities.
Brenda, Lee and their team provide a ‘home away from home’ welcoming. They’re full of kindness and nothing is too much to ask. The rooms are very clean and tidy. Linen and towels are fresh every day. There is shared showers - womens side and mens side - though we did not experience any delay in gaining access to such amenities. There’s a seperate ‘den style’ room where you can prepare your own food if necessary. It also has coffee etc facilities. The premises are just a short walk from hotels and restaurants and rates are exceptional in value and far less expensive than Perisher which is only 30 minutes travel by car.

Pender Lea Chalets are sited on 2800 acres of bushland adjoining the Koscuiszko National Park, convenient to the skitube and Thredbo Alpine Village, with quick access to the ski slopes and the Alpine country. Lake Jindabyne with its water sports is just minutes away. Have a fishing holiday on our property where the Thredbo River flows deep with a series of pools and running rapids. Thredbo in the summer offers walking tracks, mountain bike tracks, kyacking and much more.
After driving for six hours from Victoria, we found that the management had failed to book us in when we had booked by telephone two weeks before. On obtaining a "dog-friendly" cabin, our large dog could not climb the steps which were large open gratings. There were problems but the setting was very pleasant.

Cool Mountain Lodge Adaminaby is situated in the National park just 25 minutes from Mt Selwyn. We are the closest accommodation to Mt Selwyn. We sit on the shores of Lake Eucumbene just a short walk to the water. We have 22 Ensuited rooms that sleep from 2-6 persons as well as self contained cabins.
How good is this place. Second visit. And they have been excellent both times. Fishing was good with plenty of rises. And this place is an excellent kick off for the local area. Food was right amount with nothing flash but perfect for me.

Snowbird is one of the friendliest, best-located lodges in the Australian ski fields. Situated at Charlottes Pass, a small village accessible by oversnow transport from Perisher Valley. Snowbird Ski Lodge offers great food, comfortable accommodation (all rooms with en-suite facilities) and a unique "Club" atmosphere which will have you feeling right at home from the moment you arrive. The tariffs are moderate, and include a hearty hot breakfast, healthy buffet lunch and three-course table d'hote dinner each day. However, the best thing about Snowbird Ski Lodge is its superb location - with amazing views of the mountain and easy access to Charlottes Pass In a normal season you can literally ski out the front door, and ski home through the trees.
I organised a surprise 30th birthday trip for my husband and his friends to Charlotte's Pass and came across Snowbird Ski Lodge. I had been emailing a few accommodation places and Snowbird were by far the most helpful, friendly and best price. Ingird at Snowbird Ski Lodge was attentive, helpful and replied promptly to my emails and questions. She was helpful in organising an extra room last minute and was accomodating with holding the room when the boys decided to camp out at Blue Lake one night. She also went above and beyond to ensure extra special birthday treats and touches were included. The place was beautiful, had amazing views and very spacious and homely. The lounge area with a big fireplace was perfect after a day of hiking and climbing. The amenities were great and the boys had access to a range of kitchen wear. I am so thankful and appreciative of Ingrid and the team at Snowbird for making such a great trip for my husband and his friends. We will definitely visit again. Thank you!

Jerrabomberra Lodge is the perfect option for Charlottes Pass accommodation. Jerrabomberra is located in the middle of Charlotte Pass Village, so you can ski-in and ski-out. All packages include breakfast, lunch and three course dinner so all you need to worry about is the snow! The bar area is a great place to unwind after a hard day on the slopes while enjoying postcard perfect views.
This was our first time skiing as a family within Australia, so I am comparing this to the Alps in France. It was the first week of the season post COVID19 lockdown; but this did not deter an excellent service, accommodation and experience. The chalet was hosted by Steve, Nikki and Ross who were new to the chalet, but were clearly seasoned professionals in their work (previous Australian and Japanese ski lodges). Their hospitality and that of Rose (bookings) was excellent; they dealt with us all in an amazingly skilful and supportive way. The three of them had worked together at other locations. Ross is an amazing chef; catering to fussy five year olds and my restrictive diet. Top marks for brilliance in the gourmet foods. The chalet is two buildings back from the 3 seater Skilift, but if you’re skiing in Charlotte Pass, nothing is more than a short walk away - it is really convenient for ski-in / ski-out. We stayed in room 6; which comprises 2x bunk beds, a queen size double, and a sofa bed (probably could sleep 8) - very spacious for the 4 of us. I gather this used to be the games room. We had an excellent view of the main 3seater ski lift, and the caterpillar belt where ski school was held. We could also watch the interesting night time maintenance activities to the slopes. But this also meant that the room was not entirely private from passers-by - yes blackout blinds were available. Other reviews stated that one could sit in the lounge room and see ski school, but this is not in fact the case, unless the location of the lounge has changed.) The bathroom in this room was adequate, but only a hand basin, shower and toilet in a small en-suite arrangement. All the accommodation in Charlotte Pass is from 1960’s-1980’s. They have only just renewed the lease of the land from the National Park, and so everyone is now locked in for another 40 years. Some of the Chalets are tired as investments have slowed in anticipation of the renewal; and clearly seek tender investment. But Jerrabomberra is significantly in the top end of that range, with newly fitted fire doors, and new anti fire measures that were a requirement for the new lease. Accommodation is spread across the ground and first floor. The first floor lounge - bar - dining room is open plan, very spacious, and very well lit with natural day light, and with great views of The Valley. The lounge room has multiple quality 2.5 leather seater sofas and armchairs, a wood burner, and some tv / dvd / blue-ray provisions not that we used them. The bar is well stocked and runs on a tab for the duration of your stay; and their are several high bar tables and stools, plus two further 3.5seater sofas and arm chairs. The dining room has three 10 seater tables. Where there were sufficient guests to warrant it, kids eat at 6pm; adults at 7pm. There is an expectation that everyone chips in with setting the table, serving the food from the kitchen hatch to the tables, and clearing up the crockery, cutlery and the tables at every meal. There is also a need to understand that the quality from the kitchen requires considerable time investment, so giving back where you can assist is imperative. This made for an excellent camaraderie among the guests, as kids got on together and parents mingled. What would have made it 5/5? Well my husband and I are task masters on this one; and it may be impossible to get all we want because he’s 6foot6 and I’m 6foot1. And a bed in which his feet don’t poke out the end, is hard to find in any hotel. They did however win points for a shower that was adjustable to accommodate us. Otherwise, there’s not much Jerra can do about the fact that only 2 runs were open due to a dearth of snow. Defo recommend and we will return!

However much aurora is paying Glenn, they need to double it. After last minute border closures, we changed our accommodation to the cosiness of Aurora ski lodge, and what a blessing in disguise it was. The family vibe of aurora, with joint meals, getting to know fellow guests and of course our master of hosts in Glenn, was brilliant. With three meals a day, you will never go hungry and save hundreds from eating every meal out with the limited venues, although you will get great advice on the good spots! It is hard not to instantly become mates with Glenn, and we were lucky enough to score a holiday where a couple of Glenn's old footy mates were staying at the same time. The old story's and reminiscing was a great personal touch to our holiday. The inside knowledge of the mountain and local surrounds was a real help aswell. This is not my usual kind of holiday (I like to avoid people!) But I will instantly be booking here the next time we are in Perisher. Cannot recommend enough. PS, the food is "slightly" above average ?. Fraser & Caitlin from Yamba NSW

We are situated equidistant from Perisher and Thredbo on a private 100 acre property. We welcome families with youngsters. Our hospitality is unmatchable! Our accommodation is roomy and comfortable (lounge and log fire, entertainment area for the young and bar for the not so young etc). During winter we provide breakfast and dinner, so the adults can leave the kitchen behind and relax! Summer is self catering.
Our second visit to this lovely lodge for our annual ski/snowboard holiday. This lodge is nicely situated, close to ski tube, and short drive to perisher or Thredbo. The rooms are comfortable, the meals are very good. I like the way they give children dinner first to allow adults to enjoy their own dinner later! Hosts Simone and Geoff are very charming and generous hosts. Bonfire and marshmallows one night, and yabbie fishing another! A lovely holiday for us all.

Great relaxing lodge, after a day on the slopes. The host is excellent, good meals, hot showers. Always good company. We have stayed several times, and plan our winter holiday there every year. The lodge is in easy reach of the ski lifts, and easy to get back to in the afternoon.

As my husband and I were original investors in the Attunga Lodge, I have extremely fond memories going way back,of taking our little children there and experiencing the amazing location of Attunga Ski Lodge at Thredbo and its super comfortable facilities. It is truly a fabulous place for all the family. There is plenty of clean accommodation in practically designed rooms. The lounge and dining areas create a homely environment and the home cooked meals are truly wonderful. The views towards Thredbo Village (5 mins. down the hill) and way up high onto the mountains is awesome. A super place for your ski holiday and summer also!!
