Nice room but too noisy
Reviewed By MvdK01The hotel is located in the old centre of Sneek and within walking distance of all major attractions, shopping street and restaurants. The hotelroom we got was big, clean, comfortable and nicely laid out. We had room 25 which was above and next to the restaurant. Even though it was not full, the noise coming from next door and below was a bit much. But we were late and tired so no big issue. Only during the night we were woken by loud screams on the street from people leaving surrounding establishments, cleary drunk (Saturday night). But in all a comfortable stay !

Property confirmed the booking, without having an available room
Reviewed By Iulian OWe had an unpleasant surprise after booking a room at this hotel. After receiving the confirmation email message, I called the property to communicate our hour of arrival and the staff told that even though Booking confirmed our stay, they do not have an available room for us and that we should search , by ourselves, another place to spend the night. They did not do any effort to correct their mistake, except giving us 2 phone numbers of near by hotels.

Reviewed By PatratzelI came to Sneek for a boat show and decided this was the best place to stay. The hosts were unfailingly pleasant. The boat show was great......I live on a Dutch Steel Cruiser. The show just made me feel humble and poor. Fantastic boats. They look like mine but are bigger , more expensive and just better. But I love my boat....that's a different story. Food at the hotel was very good. Breakfast had a very good choice and in the evening dinner was great. The chef and son listened and cooked a perfect steak the next time. I can't fault this. There are coffee and tea facilities in the rooms but you do have to ask for them to be replenished. Otherwise you get no cups , no sugar and no coffee. There's a Tassimo but without capsules it's useless. I don't think it's idleness but just the Dutch way of saying 'If it's not there then ask for it' This is not special to this hotel it has happened all over Holland over my last 5 trips. It doesn't bother me. I ask and I get. Holland is well laid back but don't go to Amsterdam for that ...... that's laid back for profit. Choose a small city....well connected by transport and chill. Sneek , unfortunately isn't it. Altered or Lelystad are.

Reviewed By MianelBeautiful new Van der Valk Hotel that looks a bit American. It is located in a park-like area and you can walk through this large city park to Sneek city center. Large room with balcony, fully equipped and overlooking a pond. Corona measures were generally well observed, but less so at breakfast. Why a breakfast buffet during these times? It was also one of the best Van der Valk hotels I have stayed in.

Great place, great location
Reviewed By AvH123We stayed in the top floor apartment. Lots of space, and amenities. Very clean and a fresh and newly decorated interior. Well worth recommending. But you do need to take a flight of stairs to get to the apartment, so you need to be up and able for that. Just steps away from the bustling center of Sneek. There is a well equipped kitchen, and small eastern supermarket at less than a minutes walk. What else could you need?

Awesome self-service B&B
Reviewed By DiemelThis lovely B&B is situated in a former peppermint candy factory. Only 5 beautiful appointed rooms. You book and pay for your stay in advance. You recieve your entry code for the frontdoor and your room by email. When you arrive just call the numbers on your mobile and thats it. It worked well! No reception, no greetings. Nothing, but it works very well for us. You can rent a bike via their website. Lots of info about Sneek and its surroundings can be found in the entrancehall. Super comfy bed. Nice LCD TV screen. A/C worked well! 5 min walk to centre of Sneek with lots of bars and restaurants. Next morning at 8 am knock on the door and the breakfastbox was placed before our door. Assortement of rolls, sugarbread, croissants, cheese, ham, Danish pastry, orange juice, boiled eggs. Coffee/Tea tray is in the room. Nespresso coffee! My favorite. We had a great stay!

Reviewed By Johan KIf you want to discover Friesland by boat, bicycle, walking or car ... this is the place. You are staying in a very beautiful restored old farm next to the water. Very friendly hosts. And sure sure try on of the boats they rent. We did not have any experience riding a boat but we had great fun with our little diesel boat wandering in the little canals and lakes. A real adventures for the whole family. (not dangerous at all) The hotel is a few km from the very beautiful city Sneek. Not in walking distance, but you can rent a bicycle or a boat, or drive your car. We are planning to go back again some day.

Reviewed By TheHappyCamper2013A very outdated and run down hotel. Located in an semi-industrial zone. Rooms and bathroom spacious but as much of a 4 star level, honestly. Bar without atmosphere, and restaurant offered the worst breakfast seen in many years, which is true for the coffee as well.
