Stopped here for a very late lunch had scallops and tuna tartar for starters then we both had the veal steak with shared side orders of salad and fried potatoes. Good service, food arrived promptly (the restaurant was very quiet) and was delicious.

I have no idea where the positive reviews are coming from. We popped in here not realising it was so highly rated on TripAdvisor. I suspect it has become a victim of that success and can not keep up with demand. Self service concept is fine, but the food was ludicrously slow. When it finally arrived we were too hungry to send it back. Partner had very bland, dry squid. I had the polenta which was plain, dry and HUGELY over-priced. (â¬10 for a small plate.) The worst food we have had in all of Slovenia. A real shame. I'd suggest to the owners that they look into limiting service to a manageable level and stop being greedy and cramming customers in for expensive, low quality slow meals.

Because it rained, we decided to leave Piran and walk to Portoroz to take a look around and enjoy a meal at this restaurant we had previously been to.On our first visit we had mixed feelings, but we were hungry and gave it a second try.We ordered mussels, polenta and sardines. All dishes were very good, fairly priced and portions very big.Service was quick, not overly friendly but diligent I would say.If you want to grab a quick bite in a casual environment this is a very good option which I can only recommend.

Our pizzas were delicious, only had a problem with my daughters, who is gluten intolerant (really). Unfortunately something was not right with the gluten free pizza and my daughter had a bad time after eating her especially prepared, gluten free pizza. We were assured that they knew all about the restrictions, including the cooking.

Situated between two top class hotels, this restaurant served wonderful quality grilled fish. The fish was presented complete and de-boned and served by an experienced member of staff. (might have been the boss)Facing onto the square with the ruins of an old church. Reach by road or just alone the Promenade from the Grand Hotel Bernardin, and up a flight of steps

We spent 5 nights at Portoroz, and our last dinner here was in the Trattoria del Pescarote:Naturally, we've choosen seafood, what else?! It was excellent, fresh and tasty. The think, which was above our expextations was the service itself: Our waiter, Daniel was confident, professional and, of course very polite! Dear manager/owner: You have to take care that emploies like him!Besides, the wine (like every wine this country) was memorable too! We definitivley offer this restaurant, thanks for the positive memory!

A 30 minute drive from Trieste, this restaurant was one of my favorite restaurants. The food was absolutely delicious. They were so many offerings with truffles! Including the chocolate dessert with truffles on top. The food was creative, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Would definitely return here and look forward to coming every time I am in the area. Donât miss this restaurant!

The food was very tasty and varied. We had a slight misunderstanding and they solved it instantly. Location might not be the best but you forget that quickly because the atmosphere is nice. Feels genuine. Also as someone who always wears shorts and skirts, I was happy about the padding on my chair haha!

Right in the centre of the sleeping beauty, Piran. Parking thus in the huge garage right before the town entrance, free bus will take you close, alterntively it is some twenty minutes walk. A squeezed and dark interior, arranged with care and really good taste, but all (restrooms included) so small⦠A cute patio makes up for it. Additional tables on the pedestrians-only street during the summer season. Two charming shop windows offer a serious choice of serious rums, whiskies, cognacsâ¦Service extremely friendly, maybe even a slightest degree too much so. It's all about show and design here â you can not but enjoy a ceremonial parade of grilled scampi on a huge metal serving tray carried by a waiter high above the tables. Or a fumed glass vessel hiding the well prepared food inside. Some 120 labels on the wine list, including a serious Dom Perignon vintage, all with high or extremely high margins (for Slovenia, clearly). Majority Slovene, some well chosen foreign. Even though most come for seafood, house offers a wide choice of interesting meat & poultry dishes. Not for vegetarians. Highly recommended: home made local pasta with smoked sea bass and cherry tomatoes. Innovative design of all dishes, taste still more traditional. 13 out of 20 on my very own scale for culinary impression.Good food, good service, nice wines â sounds great. Sadly, way too expensive for the product offered. Yet there is almost no alternative in town if you want to enjoy well prepared fresh seafood and not the tourist fastfood selection.Thank you for your visits and for sharing your experience! We are happy to hear that you liked the food and the service. As you mentioned, we are a small, family-run, restaurant, operating for decades in the same building. Our "home" may be limited in size, but we strive continuously grow to provide extraordinary sensory experience, with top-quality ingredients and interesting combinations. We value each individual feedback and we will surely use it in the future. Our guest's comments were always a great source of inspiration!Hope to meet you again!
