Established in 2011, The New Poet's Rest fuses classic and modern cuisine in a casual and contemporary setting. Newly refurbished in 2014 with revamped menus with all time favourites and new additions of our own invention, we have something for everyone. Whether it's a quiet night out for two, or a bigger occasion, we cater to all. Dietary requirements can be met also. Bookings or walk ins.
Have visited several times since they opened. It's so much better than The Poets Rest which was a nice local restaurant but could be hit and miss with hours of opening and food wasn't always up to par. Inside Out is amazing. The new decor is far nicer, service is extremely attentive, front of house manager is on the ball, far more interesting menu and the food is always excellent. The Mozambique sauce, which comes with the spatchcock chicken, a prawn dish, and today was on the potato special, is just delicious. Really interesting dishes with something for everyone. I've visited both for lunch and dinner, with family and as a couple, since the first week it opened and I'm delighted to have such a good restaurant near me (but it's absolutely worth a drive; we used to drive half an hour to our previous "regular" and this is better).

It was a chance visit as we were passing through Navan, the food was delicious, full of flavor, really really good.
The gentleman that greeted us was very pleasant and welcoming. Gave advice on the main courses and got both our meals perfect. Probably the best Indian food I have eaten.
We will definitely return again. Congratulations to all at Gaylord Spices.

Since I moved to Navan we would often eat here. Service is very friendly and the food is fantastic. The menu not only tells you the specials, but also the chefs working (which I think is a nice touch)
Nice timing between courses, and you never feel rushed. Prices are good and they also have an early bird menu. Looking forward to my next night in Zucchinis. Love their goats cheese three ways!

We got a take away last week as mothers day treat and we were not disappointed. Plenty of food and very reasonably priced. Had to wait a bit extra but worth it.

Met friends here for Lunch recently. Welcome was so warm and genuine. Waitress was knowledgeable about food and also very pleasant. Wine menu a bit limited but food more than made up for that little disappointment. Very well presented and tasty with good sized portions for a very reasonable price. The place was buzzing with lots of people enjoying the good food and warm atmosphere. Found the desserts a bit limited but to be fair we were there a good 2 hours eating and chatting before it occurred to us to order dessert so perhaps we had missed the boat slightly.

Saturday night and the place was buzzing with a lively atmosphere enhanced by a friendly, welcoming, efficient service from all the staff.
I can't speak for my friend, but whilst I was very much impressed by the venue and the effortless professionalism of the staff, I was pretty disappointed with the food. I had the Chili Tiger Prawns to start, and they were served in a baking hot dish that had rendered them severely over-cooked and rather tasteless. Not ideal for an £8.50 starter.
I had the £24.95 Rib-eye Steak for my main; and whilst it was certainly a generous 10oz in size, the meat itself was a little sinewy and flavourless without the sauce provided as a side. The chips were strangely anaemic and the sauteed mushrooms appeared to have come out of a tin. Surely it can't be too much trouble to buy & prepare fresh mushrooms in a restaurant that presents itself as a quality venue?
I was wishing I'd ordered what my friend had (Rack of Lamb), as he said that it was excellent. He'd had the Calamari to start, and said that it was fresh rather than frozen, and that the batter was well made.
I was hoping to write a rave review on "a hidden gem", as we'd decided to visit Drogheda rather than make a trek into Dublin. Even more so given the previously mentioned excellent service we received from everyone at the front of house.

We stopped off here for refreshments on a Saturday afternoon. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The wine list was varied with a good global selection. I chose the Pino Grigio which was excellent. We ordered pizza which we all enjoyed - thin crusted...MoreMany thanks for your lovely comments, Jeane.

Dropped into the Round O for a pint of Arthurs finest and some food. We weren't disappointed!
Great food, great pint, great value and excellent service was the order of the day during the post Christmas break.
Arrived at circa 18:00 and the lounge was quite busy. After a brief wait we were ushered to a table and our order was quickly taken. We had not booked so were hoping for a seat and weren't disappointed.
We had homemade garlic mushrooms (Stuffed and served with salad) for starters, salmon (Baked salmon with a white wine cream, vegetables and champ) and Thai chicken sizzler (Strips of chicken fried with ginger, chili and tomato. Served with rice & chips) for mains and homemade apple pie plus tiramisu for desert. We had no room for tea/coffee! Great value at €22.50.
I had two excellent pints of Guinness while my wife enjoyed two gin and tonics. Thankfully we had a designated driver joining us.
Highly recommended.
