We specialize in set menu for a very good price compared to what you are served. A la carte is also a possibility

There are several restaurants/cafes in Herkules Skien and this is one of them. I read some negative reviews about this place and wondered how it could be. Klosterstua is a fine place to eat. The service is good, the staff is accommodating and would answer your questions and do the best they can for their customers. This is not a gourmet restaurant but a cafe where one could eat to satisfy hunger after shopping, or perhaps enjoy a chat with friends over a yummy cake and coffee.

We higly recommend the hotel`s restaurant and lobbybar. We take pride in offering top quality menue at reasonable prices. Fish meals are our speciality.
Very nice restaurant in the most central hotel in Skien. Always friendly service and tasteful food. We always enjoy to come here.

Good takeaway place. They make a good sushi. Every peace is a little bigger than "normal", its what you will call "american" sized sushi. Personally I like it this way. I usually buy here and eat it home. The food is great. As a sit down place it is not recommended.

New Agra is an Indian restaurant placed in the center of Skien in a quiet street. The restaurant itself looks nice, and it's clean. Both in the restaurant and in the toilets. This goes for their restaurant in Porsgrunn as well, since they opened there just a month ago or so. We have visited both of them.
The menu is changing every now and then, and you will find a nice selection of different dishes and tastes.
If you order hot food, like Vindaloo or Tindaloo, you will get it! And beware - these dishes ARE HOT!
A nice thing is that you can order exactly what you want when it comes to spices - and the chef will make it just as you want. And - they remember your taste the next time you visit.
Service i really good, and the waiters are quick and effective. They are also really helpful and will tell you everything you need to know about the different dishes and give you the necessary advice if needed.
Wine list is pretty standard, as is the prices. We can recommend the place.

Before I decide that a particular restaurant is my favourite, especially in my home town, I need to visit it at least twice.
The food, the service & location of La Bodega is perfect.
And I'm critical.
The menu has something for everyone, served by waiters that actually know about what they are serving.
Music was pleasant but never intrusive.
Yes, La Bodega is now my favourite local restaurant.
An authentic tapas experience right on my doorstep.
Life is good

This restaurant/brasserie is concept from the Osebro restaurant in Porsgrun which has a good reputation. We visited in april for dinner. The menu is quite simpel, but enough to choose from. Fish soup and scampi as starters, soup was good but a bit fat and a bit too much for a starter. But no complaints there. The scampis were the oppisite, could do with a few more. Main course was deer and vegetables. Meat was cooked good, pink inside. Potatoes were a bit on the dry side. Nothing to write home about. Coffee and cheesecake as dessert, cheesecake tasted ok but coffe was -as always in Norway- pretty awful, very sour. What about investing in a proper coffeemachine? At the end of the day we payed 1400 NOK (round about 170 euro!) for a 3 course meal incl one beer is very steep at this quality, regretfully that is the standard in Norway. Service was good and speedy Delivery. All in all average experience.

Had a group there of 13 persons.
we had pre-ordered a 3 course set menu, and it was very tasteful.
All inn the party really loved it.
Wine glasses on the small side, so it got expensive.
Also a lot of people there that evening, and a few other large groups as well.
So we did not got to much attention from the waiters. They lost a lot of money because of that, since out glasses was empty a most of the time.
Thats a little tip from me.
We was a quiet group, but out for fun.
You could sell a lot more just by now and then ask if we wanted something else when you saw empty wine glasses at the table.
Cozy place and nice view.
Easy maximum rating if had got more attention to the table.
Instead it will be 4 of 5.

Nice drinks, a lot of space outdoors. Good atmosphere and service is excellent. Book at table for Fridays and Saturdays and wait until 23:00 before showing up.
