A large, busy harbor doesn’t dampen the charm of Skagen’s older neighborhoods, which offer distinctive yellow houses, great museums, ceramic and glass art galleries, and bike rental outlets. Harbourside restaurants serve fish fresh off the boats. If you’re used to Caribbean beaches, this will take some getting used to, but we bet Skagen’s craggy charms will win you over.

This is a family hotel, run by mother and daughter who do everything; reception, restaurant, cooking, etc, etc. Guests that are used to the bigger and more business like hotels might not feel at home. But we did, indeed. Rooms are small and somehow old fashioned but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is rather basic but a very good experience. Home cooking - that Danes really know how to do. Wifi was fine but no TV in the room (not missed by us) Negative, perhaps, is the location which is some KM from Skagen centre. There is a train 200m away that runs every 30 minutes (somewhat erratic schedule) and takes only a few minutes to town. We are used to bigger hotels but very much enjoyed this family operation and thank mother and daughter who cared very well for their guests.

Nice little exclusive and intimate hotel in Skagens old ship smithy, part of the town's authentic harbour environment. Next to the Swedish Seamens church.
This was our first visit and stay in Skagen, so maybe a bit rushed to make 'Skagen Harbour Hotel' our preferred hotel for future visits, but we felt very welcome and loved the room given to us, which made the stay extra comfortable. Equally the breakfast was just perfect for us as a family to enjoy and start the day! Finally, the location of the hotel is ideal, allowing you to walk to most places such as the restaurants, the shopping street, the harbour, the beach, etc. We will definitely be back and look for the same room to book!

Outside the hotel there is the most fantastic nature with cycle paths and hiking trails to lead you through the heather-covered hills, raw heath and finest sand beaches. The famous sand-buried church is only a short walk from the hotel.
My mother and I have been taking an annual trip to Color Hotel Skagen for years, and we were thrilled to finally be back after the pandemic. The stay was just as pleasant this time as before. We got an early check-in without an issue, the room was spacious and clean, and WiFi worked perfectly. Only “complaint”; the hotel seemed far from full, but we still got a room facing the entrance and parking lot. There’s always going to be people coming and going at odd times, so this room should be the last one they use. Apart from this, everything was perfect. Good and plentiful breakfast, lots of walking trails nearby, free parking on premises etc. We’ll be back soon!

I like historic hotels, but the price must reflect what you get. I stayed in the Admiral Building, and it was underwhelming to say the least. Worn out, bad beds, very run down bathroom etc. I payed DKK 2.095,- for one night in a double room. Half the price would have been more suitable for this room and the breakfast. I'm never returning.

...Hallelujah Sorry I was singing along to the loud music from next door in the pub that echoes throughout our little apartment hotel room. Besides this free concert the hotel is very nice. We were met with a friendly receptionist and good check in experience ... My brown-eyed girl You, my brown-eyed girl... The rooms are super nice and seemingly newly renovated. The only complaint I will give is that I judge a hotel room by its in room coffee facilities and this one fails miserably. Look and just to be honest, instant coffee no matter how "good" it is - is not coffee and any serious coffee drinker shuns instant coffee. I will update this review after tomorrow when we have breakfast and check out ...You got blood on your face, you big disgrace Waving your banner all over the place We will, we will rock you, sing it! We will, we will rock you, yeah... (The music was ok just to loud)

Ruths Hotel is a historic seaside hotel located in the heart of a idyllic village called Gl. Skagen that is surrounded by dunes with lyme grass and rose hip bushes and also the beach with the legendary sunset plaza on the Top of Denmark. The hotel itself consists today of four buildings with rooms and apartments designed with Danish furnitures and typical Scandinavian beach side hotel style, an underground parking garage, conference facilities and romantic banquet facilities - all within 200 meters. In the main building of Ruths Hotel is besides the reception also a wellness and spa area with a heated therapy pool, exercise machines, sauna, steam room, massage shower, and the option to book massages, beauty and fitness treatments. The culinary experince in a cozy setting can be enjoyed either in Ruths Brasserie or Ruths Gourmet. Between the two restaurants is our lounge, where a cup of coffee with some exclusive pampering of the sweet tooth can be enjoyed by the crackling fire from the fireplace. Despite the fact that we are a five-star hotel and many describes Ruths Hotel as a luxury hotel, we actually don't strive to give a luxury experience. We want to give our guests a five-star experience of exclusive life enjoyment, and it is with this exclusive pampering that you will experience how the heart rate drops by 10 beats, the body is forced to relax and you will achieve a sensation of presence and time for each other. We can not help it - It's in our nature
We stayed in the main building which was very quiet. The room was a good size and styled in a very cozy "beachy" manner which immediately made us feel "at home" and relaxed. The staff was nice and accommodating - always with a smile on their face. The selection at the breakfast buffet was really good and of high quality.

Very average on everything, so don’t visit in week 29 where the room rate have been increased with min. 50% There were some tables and chairs just outside the reception to enjoy the sun, but the whole area was smelling from the sewer. Average rooms and breakfast - ok-ish to normal rate I would guess, but not one cent more.
