Having just finished our weekly shopping at the supermarket directly opposite, my wife and I thought we would have a coffee at Coal Rock.
As we tried to enter the coffee bar with our shopping trolley, a young waitress made it quite clear that we could not bring it in. We just walked away in disgust. None of the other coffee shops in this shopping centre have turned us away with a shopping trolley before.
I guess that it's your loss not ours Coal Rock.

Dined last night with a group of friends. While the meals where fine and very well priced, don't expect anything out of the ordinary. The renovated dining area was cold and noisy with the stone floor. We all thought the drink prices were a bit on the high side for a pub.

Family Friendly bistro, daily blackboard specials and themed night specials. ie. Snitty night, Rib & Rump etc cater for small and large functions. Personal or business.
My husband and I went there for dinner and I felt very uncomfortable. The restaurant is more like a bistro, with the cutlery in a tin container on a melamine table and you go up to the counter to place your order. The decor is very out dated and dark and the word Bogan came to mind. Having said that we found the staff very hard working and friendly and the food was delicious with a great price. I really felt out of place and would probably not go back.

I rated this restaurant as poor mainly due to service. Some members of our group had nearly finished their meals before the others were served. I do not find this acceptable. In addition my food when it arrived was only just acceptable.
I would not choose to repeat the experience.

Gastropub, Simple fresh food. Fantastic Beer, Wine & Cocktail range. Alfresco Dining, Groups, Craft beer on tap, Disabled access, able to cater for dietary requirements. Bookings advised.
The breakfast we had was exceptional. We find ourselves comparing our breakfasts to our experience we had at the Grainery and in particular the Hollandaise sauce which is possibly the best we have ever had. Food magnificent and first rate coffee what more do you...MoreThank you so much!! We're stoked you loved your brekky with us, looking forward to seeing you again next time :)

We often go here for lunch. Friendly staff serve my coffee exactly the way I like it double espresso (good coffee) with warm milk on the side. We share a toasted Turkish bread Sandwich because the fillings are so generous half is plenty. Cake selection is a bit limited

First time Coffee Club visitors, not acknowledged by any of the staff, after a short while noted a small sign on kitchen wall, pay & order at counter , lots of selection of food and drinks, friendly girl at cashier, asked for takeaway cups even though we were dining in but that didn't happen, I asked for a flat white but it was still only 3/4 full of liquid, the rest was froth. The maple syrup I had was the thinnest and weakest I have ever experienced, I think even Greens brand is better, my partners bacon, eggs, tomato was what to expect, we don't like our meals in a bowl though unless it's pasta!! Would go again but choose something different.

How lucky Singleton is. This atmospheric and busy little cafe is an absolute gem located in the main shopping street of the town. The staff are friendly and courteous even though they were very busy at the time I visited. The buzz of the place was so infectious I lingered with an extra coffee to compliment my tasty ricotta cake. If I lived here this cafe would definitely be my local. Highly recommend a visit.
