Wonderful home cooking! You know, in the U.S. we have these ridiculously pumped-up chickens with huge breasts but no taste. The grilled chicken here has so much delicious flavor, it’s like a different animal! They serve a delicious house red, service is welcoming and friendly and prices are low! A great place.

Very popular restaurant in Sines. The interior is very stylish but still cosy. The restaurant offers nice variety of meat and fish dishes. I ordered stuffed beef fileet in creamy sauce and it was heavenly, definitely the best meal on our roundtrip in Portugal. The prices aren't cheap but definitely worth every penny spend. Must visit if you're in Sines.

Although very well recommended my experience in this restaurant was not on par with its fame.
After waiting more than half an hour for a reserved table we felt we deserved more than what we got.
Food was just average and the sea food spaghetti was terrible. Better stick with the grilled fish even if it's just the same as in every other restaurant by the sea side.
A true disappointment.

In a totally changed Sines from when I first visited it in the summer of 1980, we chanced upon this very small restaurant. Simple decor and local patrons but the food was good and inexpensive. The waiter, Vitor Branco, initially a bit weary and Brusque, warmed up and became friendly even offering us some of his private bagaceira. He also speaks English and Italian while his petite, smiling collegue, Rute Rodrigues, seems uplifted from the famous Manet painting "A Bar at the Folies-Bergère".
Highly recommended.

Driving up the coast from the south we were getting hungry and stopped here. We had been in Porto Covo but nothing was open as we were visiting during the off season. Our hunger was getting to us so we pulled into the first restaurant we saw. So glad we found Bom Petisco.
The menu is as genuine Portuguese as you can get. Lots of fish with the ones not available that day crossed out. They have many of the traditional dishes also, which our daughter enjoys trying. The place was filled with locals and I think we were probably the only tourists there. Certainly the only English speakers.
No issue ordering a nice lunch though as it is hard to go wrong. Any of the fish dishes are great. We had the Dourado and the Turbot. Both were excellent. Our daughter had a traditional stew-like creation which was really flavorful and filling. Not sure what was in it, but it was very good.
Service was friendly and prompt even if the waiter could not speak English. We couldn't speak Portuguese either so it was all good. Nice lunch and plenty filling.
Highly recommend this spot along the shoreline.

As many restaurants located in Sines, in Restinguinha one will find a very good quality fresh fish assortment. However, rather than recomend the traditional "grilled fish with boiled potatoes and vegetables" dish, I would prefer the monkfish rice which is, for me, one of the best you can have in Portugal... Apart from this they also serve a very juicy home style swordfish which is a delight.
For the meat lovers... Sorry but I never ate meat in this restaurant but I am sure it might be as good as the fish.
The desserts are also home made, meaning that it is a feast of sweet flavours one cannot miss.
Do not expect an exquisite service or a very fancy atmosphere but there are places in the sun-deck where one can enjoy a magnificent view of Sines bay!

It's a great flavour, thin pastry and very well garnished pizza! Oh it not expensive too.
The location is not that good, as it is in the inside of a building.
It's just a pity that isn't made on a wood oven...
If those two conditions were met I would rate it as 5 stars.

Typical Portuguese charcoal based cuisine. Famous meals are the sirloin steak, the lamb cutlets and the black pork fillets. Kitchen closes at 22:30
Very familiar place, never disappoints!
Service is quick, polite and helpful.
The fish is fresh and wonderfully grilled, served with potatoes and broccoli.
The secretos are juicy and delicious, served with a generous side of real fries.
A well seasoned salad makes the difference.
As dessert we always go for the mousse - chocolate, mango or passion fruit.

The Pastelaria Vela d'Ouro (also know as Os Galegos) is always packed for one simple reason: the quality of the cakes/sweets the sell. The location is nice, the atmoshpere is OK, but the quality is just great...Pasteis de nata, Arrufadas, Bolas de Berlim are all fantastic. I have been coming back years after years and I have never been disappointed.
