The Golf Hotel is well known for its friendly and welcoming staff and you will be greeted with a happy smile upon your arrival at the hotel. We have 22 comfortable ensuite bedrooms available, many of which have views over the town green towards the sea. All rooms offer LCD digital televisions with Freeview and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel is roughly 100 metres from the Golf Course.
This hotel is probably the largest hotel in town. It was originally called The Solway Hotel, but some clever marketing guru changed it to The Golf Hotel as it is a two minute walk from the local golf course. On-street parking only. No lift. Lots of stairs if you are disabled or old. Rather than use a booking agency I booked direct, thus saving them around 15% commission fees, but wasn't offered a discount or room upgrade. My single room was above the heating boiler which fired up at regular intervals, sounding like a ship's engine and beginning at 5.00 a.m. The water in the bathroom was so hot it scalded my hand. The shower had two settings; Scalding hot or freezing cold. Nothing in between. At breakfast I asked if they provided porridge but they did not. Kippers were on the menu, but they had none in stock. The room was filled with groups of golfers talking endless dribble about handicaps, golf courses they had played and other such dribble. Like excited schoolboys with a train set. Mainly scoucers talking whilst eating. Is this a trait with Liverpudlians? It seems to be the norm in that part of the world. Sickening if you have to listen to it. I will try somewhere else next time.

I stayed here one night whilst on a fishing trip to the area I have to say that I cannot fault this place. I had a double room at the rear of the property, no view but so quiet, I had the best nights sleep away from home in a very long time. The room was excellent very spacious with still and sparkling water and fresh milk in a mini fridge and lots of tea and coffee. Breakfast is cooked to order and was excellent the sausage in particular was outstanding. I had an evening meal in the Bistro which was freshly cooked, very tasty and good value. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will stay again next time I visit the area

Booked with Hoseason and read the reviews after. Was pretty nervous at all the bad reviews. However it was better than expected. Stayed in a caravan with a hot tub and it was all well equipped and comfortable. Had a 7 night break with 5,6 and 1 year old. Kids entertainment was good, park really good, pool ok. Could do with some improvements which I left on my feedback form which would enhance the park. But like most it has suffered due to COVID. Would certainly go back but would choose a chalet as I liked the privacy for the hot tub. Looking forward to coming back
