Inside you can see that time has been demanding it’s toll on many parts over the years, the one or other “repair” might be better solved with a replacement. Definitely the breakfast buffet is something to get used to, first buffet without self service, which can lead to waiting times even for just one piece of butter….

Perfect place to work and relax
Reviewed By GyFloIn the heart of Siegburg up on the hilltop is this place located. Modern architecture combined with an old monastery. Nice facility good for workshop and meetings. The staff is nice and helpful. All meals are delicious. After a long working day you can enjoy your beer or vine on the rooftop terrace with a perfect view on the city and on the sunset. Nice place.

It's sparkling clean with a wonderful, helpful, friendly staff who goes out of their way to make us feel at home. They offered to book a massage for me when I asked if they knew anything about the local Thai massage place (see my review for Wilawan--it's the most incredible value and quality). They saw us go for a run and told us that we can go to the local gym and take classes for free. The breakfast is incredible and huge--it's terribly difficult not to overeat to discomfort. The hotel is a six-minute walk from the train, it has Wifi, and you won't find a better value for your money.

Koncept Hotel H2O - the former Hotel Herting - is located in the centre of the city of Siegburg, opposite the Siegburg/Bonn train station. From here, guests can reach the Rhine metropolises of Cologne and Bonn, the Cologne Trade Fair or Cologne Bonn Airport within half an hour. Koncept Hotel H2O’s 35 rooms offer maximum comfort, generous spaciousness and leave no wishes unfulfilled for business or private travel. High-speed Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV and a breakfast buffet in the adjoining Restaurant HERTINGS complete the guest experience. A special highlight is the Deluxe rooms on the top floor of the Koncept Hotel H2O, which in addition to air conditioning also include balconies with the best views of Siegburg and the Michaelsberg.

Reviewed By MrsPiketKoncept Hotel H2O dates from 2003 and is located opposite Siegburg railway station. Hotel H2O offers 35 rooms over 4 floors. The hotel is operated as a cash cow. Please read on. Staffs are replaced by an entry code and a code machine that delivers your room card. No reception. No breakfast. You have to go to the railway station and enjoy your breakfast at a bench in the street or in your room. Note that we were not informed that for breakfast you have to go to an adjoining restaurant. We booked a twin room and got a single room. Our small room was practically decorated and furnished, with desk & chair, small open wardrobe, flat screen TV, and a private bathroom with washbasin, toilet and shower. The room had a 110cm wide single bed and one duvet. We called the Hotel H2O service number and got a card for a double room from the machine. The second room was not cleaned. We were left to put the bedlinen on the beds ourselves. The window could not be opened. We took a duvet returned to the single room and crashed down for the night. We enjoy our breakfast at a bench in the street. If you fancy a code machine entry, a single bed for two or an unclean double room, hotel Koncept Hotel H2O is the place for, otherwise go elsewhere. We found Koncept Hotel H2O a true never-come-back show.

Reviewed By Mike PWe stayed at the Friendly Cityhotel Oktopus as a stop over on a long drive across Europe. We were towing a long glider trailer so parking was an issue. Some weeks before our journey, I e-mailed the hotel to ask if they could provide parking for a car towing a ten metre trailer. I got no response. Looking at Google maps, I could see that there was parking alongside the site so I went ahead and booked. When we arrived at the hotel, we parked by mistake in the cul de sac outside the front of the hotel. That presented a problem in turning the trailer. We found that the reception staff were polite and efficient but failed to go that extra mile. Eventually we parked on the school bus stop adjacent to the hotel. The school busses only run in the weekdays and we were for a Saturday night only. I had to ask for a ticket from the reception to park the car. None was offered. There was no restaurant open so we went down the road to a Vietnamese restaurant. I fancied a beer when I got back to the hotel but was firmly told that the bar closes at ten. The lady who was the night porter would not sell a drink. Again, not impressed. The room itself was a little strange. The double bed was extremely comfortable but was placed up against a wall so the person on the left of the bed had to crawl over the person on the right if they needed the loo or whatever in the night. Not ideal. Breakfast was okay with face coverings rigorously enforced. Check out was efficient and as expected. Would I stay there again? Very probably not. There was nothing actually terrible about the place but we both felt that they did the absolute minimum for their visitors.

First night, TV-set was not working, second night no hot shower water, second night remote TV-control out of order, 2 of 3 days no room service, at breakfast ham and cheese was forgotten, at all there nights one of the reading lights suddenly turned on, fitness area was closed while clubs in the city were open - a hotel like this does not deserve 4*

A good stopover
Reviewed By hisscaredbrainWas traveling more that 1000km and wanted to break the journey efficiently. This place is bang off the highway and fits the bill where one can find a good night sleep followed by a good bath and can hit the road easily. There is plenty of parking nearby and the reception itself is not always manned. However there is the highway stop which doubles as reception for this hotel. Nothing fancy, one gets what ones paid for. The insulation of the windows is surprising good!

A king’s house with all the trimmings
Reviewed By carolynnellLocation location location! The Kaiserhof could not be any better positioned for those traveling by train and interested in downhill skiing. The Kaiserhof has everything you could want in a hotel. Large comfortable room (granted, we had a junior suite) with soft bed and nice bedding, delicious breakfast with every option you could desire, super friendly and helpful staff and so much more! Viktoria at the reception desk as well as the other staff were welcoming and helpful. Gabriella the bartender welcomed us graciously each evening. Not only is the hotel about 70 steps from the train station and 50 steps from the Hannenkamm lift, there are numerous restaurants and bars very close by. Another few steps and you are in the heart of the delightful town. Another nice feature for the hotel is the separate entrance for easy access to the secure ski and boot storage. Its location also saves you a few steps uphill with your gear. Everything is completely walkable, even for ‘old folks’. The city could use some wider sidewalks and improved traffic patterns for walking. We found ourselves crossing the street excessively to stay in the proper flow. Obviously this is not a problem with the hotel but it is the only negative I can speak of. The pool and spa area seemed delightful but we did not spend any time in those spaces.
