Recently winning the accolade of Best Restaurant in Outer London Suburbs at the prestigious British Curry Awards, having already won there previously in 2011 and 2014, the Welling site, part of the well-respected Shampan Group, is an intimate and cosy restaurant. Perched on a quiet and unassuming parade, the elegant and contemporary restaurant features a subtly designed dining area with glossy leather banquettes, cosy booths and lovely etchings on the walls – all matched by a vibrant and buzzing ambience. The flavoursome cooking, which leans on the traditional with some modern touches, speaks eloquently for itself.
Excellent restaurant. Food first rate but the portions could be bigger for the price. First class service from the waiters. Nothing to much trouble

At Zizzi we like to do things a little differently. We don’t do over-complicated recipes or scrimpy portion sizes. We’re all about the well-chosen ingredients, simply put together to make exceptional Italian food.Centrally located and overlooking Chislehurst Lake, this restaurant opens on to two floors, the upper ideal for private and special occasions. We've captured the energy and warmth of simple Italian food with an open plan kitchen so you can see our chefs hard at work as well as enjoying great service from our warm and friendly waiters and waitresses.Dine al fresco with an outdoor dining area for sunny weather. If you’re celebrating big, see if our private dining area is right for you.
Just had a wonderful birthday meal at Zizzi’s, Chislehurst. The food was delicious but the whole afternoon was made even more special by our waiter Ivan - an absolute star and a real credit to the restaurant.

A special occasion meal at Sophie's Choice - what an excellent venue, first class food with generous portions. Staff were excellent, attentive but not in your face. We had an amazing time. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. A must visit when in SIDCUP. Thank you so much everyone at Sophie's Choice. Sarah

Went to La Cucina on Xmas Eve as one of a party of 7. The atmosphere was very good despite our table being a little seperate from the main restaurant, but the staff were excellent and very welcoming. Our party had a large selection of starters, mains and Deserts between us, but all agreed that very dish was delicious. Look forward to returning in the future.

Just like the coaching inn of old, we provide a relaxed home-from-home for the locals and visitors alike. Think of The Bulls Head like a modern hotel, without the attitude – at heart we’re a friendly local pub, boasting fantastic cask ales and the best in British food. Upstairs are 15 stylish bedrooms. Above all, we offer friendly, personal and unpretentious service, whether you’re just in for a quiet pint, planning an intimate dinner, a stop-over for a business trip or staying for a leisurely weekend. We look forward to welcoming you at the Bulls Head soon!
Friendly staff, choice of places to eat but main dining room has no children. Had fish and chips which was a large portion and good quality. The pub was busy with a mix of customers. A lot of people appeared to be eating, food served...MoreHi Deirdre, Thank for your nice review. Just to clarify for other guests who may be Reading this, children are welcome into both the restaurant and the main bar dining area. It is just the small lounge bar that is adults only Kind Regards

Despite living very close to this restaurant I hadn’t visited it for years until last weekend. The staff are super friendly and old school and were perfect for the occasion we were hosting. Everyone declared the food fantastic and it was good although I find it slightly old fashioned as the menu hasn’t changed since I was last here. Be sure to mention if you don’t want the mixed vegetables or you’ll get offered and charged anyway.
On the whole though a great lunch and they must be doing something right as it was still fairly busy on a January lunchtime.

We went on the basis of many great reviews, so perhaps had high expectations. The service was great and overall it was a really good meal. Just the flavour and menu lacked the excitement and freshness and punch I would have liked. It is very much in the traditional style of Italian eateries across the country. Not a bad thing, but just wanted a little more.

Distinctly underwhelming... forgot my husbands drink in the first round, got the order for one starter wrong, also got the order for one main wrong which meant 7 of us had all but finished before our friend could start his. Oysters not loosened in their shells- kind of basic for a seafood restaurant?? Ran out of Bombay gin... really? The Saturday before Christmas?
Decor poor, shabby and outdated. Nowhere to hang a coat so I had to hang it over the balcony next to me. Still waiting for the water we asked for... there is a sense of “couldn’t care less” about the whole place and in these fiercely competitive times I’d rather spend my money somewhere that delivers high quality food AND cares about their customers. Sorry but I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Mama Carmen Is on the move. We have teamed up with the Prince Albert in Bexleyheath to the superb 50+ seater restaurant above the pub. It is completely separate from the pub and offers luxurious surroundings. Frank and his now extended team will keep serving the very best of dishes as always. We now offer crisp lining tables in a comfortable cosy surroundings. Frank Will now be front of house as he has two very experienced chefs in the kitchen to continue his unblemished reputation. Come check us out.
