Located near the picturesque hamlet of Sojha, in the spectacular Seraj valley of Kullu we offer comfortable, well furnished rooms in a solid cedar wood house surrounded by thickly forested mountains with snow covered Himalayan peaks as a backdrop. There is a well equipped kitchen to serve sumptuous meals. The numerous walks and treks in the surrounding forests and meadows are a special feature of the area and the drive to the resort is a pleasure in itself.
We were a group of 10, and stayed at this property for couple of nights. The property has a nice location facing the mountains. The rooms have a bit of old world charm and have nice sit outs with sofa and chairs. The place is full of photographs of tourist locations in the Himalayas The food was excellent with each dish having a different flavour as it should be. There are nice areas to relax in the property and one can even walk down to the adjoining village Only minus is the lack of adequate power back up and sluggish hot water supply Would certainly recommend as the place is about half hour from Jalori pass from where one can do treks

Set within the village of Shoja itself, Satyam Home Stay is surrounded by spruce and pine forests that are carpeted with blooming Irises from April to March. Personally run and managed by Akash & Preet; we promise you will go back with new memories and promises to come back.
Plus - 1) Great views of the mountains ( only from the first floor ) Negative - The list is long. We ( me, my wife and a friend travelled in December. So will restrict my views to it ) 1) Despite prior commitment to stay on the first floor, we were checked into the ground floor rooms with no views for the first 2 nights. The excuse given was the other couple who were supposed to travel with us cancelled. The same was communicated to them 1 month in advance. If at all they wanted to make changes, they should have informed us and we would have tay a call accordingly. 2) On the third day, when we were shifted to the first floor ( supposedly as a good gesture, though reality is the guests were checking out ), our friend who was single , was given a room with no attached toilet and no bed. Just a mattress. The buggers charged the same tariff for the same room as well. 3) The tariff mentions inclusive of breakfast. But they don't mention it only includes toast & tea ?. In my travels in mountains , at a similar price point ( ₹ 1500 our price ) we were provided eggs, parathas, idli, puri subji etc. Non transparent management. 4)No electricity from 9am - 6 pm or even more. No one including the owner informed us about it 5) Of course with no electricity, an attached bathroom with geyser doesn't make any sense. So no warm water. We bathed only once during our 5 day stay. No provision for bucket water nor any solar power back up 6) Additionally , low electricity load with low wattage heaters it was never warm enough 7) Pathetic Staff service They never come up to ask for tea. And when you go down to order, it takes forever and by the time it arrives, it's cold tea. Why can't they serve in a thermal jug ? Also, they neither give you a bottle/ jug of drinking water at night before you retire , nor do they bother to offer you warm water in freezing conditions 8) Limted food options Most food items mentioned in the menu ( specially veg ) is not available. My wife literally had to live off dal and mushroom do piazza ( once) during our stay. Zero options. To add insult to injury, the local cab operators are cheats. My friend handed over his Aadhar card and ₹500 for a SIM due to poor network. He never got his money back despite repeated requests including to thehomestay owner. Overall, a pathetic stay and horrendous service !

A Homestay on NH, close to Jalori Pass with excellent views of the tall Deodar trees and the Jalori Pass. The owner is a very nice and humble person. Food is freshly prepared, tasty and sufficient. Rooms are basic, 12'x12' approx with a double bed, mirror, 2 chairs, table, clean bathroom, geyser, inverter arrangement (for power cuts). Overall simple, cosy Homestay. Not the hi-fi type, but reasonably priced with all basic amenities and arrangements. Best part is, it is strategically located with great views, right on the highway and easy for car parking. Restaurant is on road level, so very easily accessible
