Booked the closest place I could find and what a gem! The manager allowed us to book in over 2 hours early because of the bad weather and completely set us at ease with his humor and good nature - I think he could tell we were all very stressed out from the drive!. We had a double Queen room and it was quite large and super clean and lovely. This appears to be a brand new hotel and was probably one of the nicest Holiday Inns I have ever been in. Bountiful continental breakfast and really good coffee were also a highlight. Fantastic stay!

The staff is extremely friendly and let us look at the room ahead of time. It is a older hotel that has been refurbished very nicely. The room was extremely clean in the hotel lobby was very nice.

I' ve had bad experiences with Rodeway in the past so I really didn't want to stay there - but - there no other choice. Motel was falling apart. The room was filthy, the shampoo was used, yes there was half a bottle! Lord knows what type of stains were on the walls and furniture. No coffee, no breakfast, the bathroom door wouldn't swing open - it hit the toilet. Worst Rodeway experience yet. We commented to the desk clerk who understood us at first. The more problems were pointed out - the worse their comprehension of english became. We needed a room & got one. Just be careful what you ask for...

Another one-night stand
Reviewed By Cyn_22_12My husband and I were in Shippensburg for a show at the Luhr Center at Shippensburg University last night. We've stayed at this facility in the past so elected to stay here again. The facility is still beautiful and was so clean that it may have been recently updated. What we noticed (as we find everywhere since the pandemic) is the business is short staffed. However, the few people working were outstanding in wearing multiple hats. A manager helped to tend the bar at the Bistro, the desk person cleaned tables and helped to serve our dinner, the young lady behind the bar was cooking breakfast as well as serving and manning the cash register, and a manager was cleaning rooms in the morning. In addition, every person was exceptionally friendly. I want to commend this work force for their ability to work together and keep this business running efficiently. I can only hope that this review reaches upper management of Marriott and these people are commended for their effort. The only thing I would improve was that the water in the swimming pool was too cold. We enjoyed the hot-tub instead.
