Very pleasant and helpful hosts. Convenient location to restaurants and onsens in town. 10 minute walk to Nagasaka Gondola which gets you warmed up and ready to go. Great drying room for ski gear. Good breakfast (choice of western or Japanese). We invited 6 friends for dinner (24 hrs notice to book) and it was very enjoyable. Beautiful food at reasonable price and we took our own wine. There is a beer vending machine on site. We had a twin room with no bath/shower just a toilet and we used the hotel hot baths. Would definitely consider staying again at this lodge in the future.

Resembling a cosy European ski hotel, Lodge Hahnenkamm offers direct skiing access to the Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort. The hotel is a 1-minute walk from a ski school, and ski rental shops are also nearby. Free Wi-Fi is available, and the property offers free early check-in and late check-out. Hahnenkamm provides bright, simply furnished rooms with beds and heating. Bathroom facilities are shared, while bathroom amenities are provided. The Lodge is entirely smoke-free, and it features a lounge with a TV and nature views. Guests can unwind at the fireplace, or go hiking or canoeing in the vicinity. Local food is served with mountain views at the restaurant. Hahnenkamm Lodge is within a 1-minute walk from the Japan Ski Museum, and a 10-minute walk from Ogama Onsen Hot Spring. Iiyama Station is a 30-minute bus ride away. We speak your language!
It was our 2nd time skiing at Nozawa and we couldn’t have been happier staying at lodge Hahnenkamm for 5 nights. We were picked up at the bus stop in the Lodge van (and also dropped off at the end of stay). The facilities were clean. There’s a drying room for ski gear and common space was large & comfortable, with a fireplace and music. The breakfasts were varied and different each of our 5 days. Plus we enjoyed 2 dinners at the lodge as well (more on that later). Our western bed was comfortable (not on the floor!) and the room was large and the in-lodge onsen was hot as ever and never had to wait to soak. Staying up on the slopes does have a perceived disadvantage - the moving walkway closes at 5:00 which makes traveling to the town for dinner a challenge. We never had dinner in town, but instead chose to visit town during lunch, in between ski runs. All our dinners were up at the base of the slopes in Hanakam lodge (twice) and ate at 3 others lodges near us (with reservations). It was a little more expensive, but the meals were very different and the evenings were calm and generally quiet. We will stay here when we ski Nozawa again next year!

This was my first visit to Nozawaonsen. Our hosts were very kind, attentive, and helpful. Check in and check out were hassle free. We rented skis at the lodge. They gave us advice when we asked for it. We dined in when it suited and dined at one of the close by restaurants other days. The onsen next door was a welcome respite each day after skiing. I thoroughly recommend Lodge Ueno Ski.

Address Nagasaka is an apartment-style accommodation in Nozawa Onsen. Each apartment comes with a well-equipped kitchen and shower facilities. All bedrooms are provided with very comfy Western-style beds, fluffy duvets, aircon/heating, and storage space. Perfect for couples and small families, guests that stay at Address Nagasaka also get to enjoy the facilities at Address Nozawa, such as the onsen bath and lounge.
We stayed at Address Nagasaka for 7 nights and loved it! The room had a comfortable bed, heating, bathroom, and small kitchen. In basement we had access to a laundry and drying room for our snow equipment. The location was fantastic! Only meters away from the chair lifts at Nagasaka. Some food options around however, for most restaurants, shops and onsens in town it was a 10 minute walk downhill. Getting home the hill is quite steep but if you take it easy and explore the surrounding streets you are back in no time! This is the sister property to Address Nozawa and does not have its own reception. The staff at Address Nozawa were very helpful with checking us in late, finding public transport and booking tours. As we were there during the fire festival they invited all of the guests to another rooftop for Sake and hot chocolate! I would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to make the most out of their skiing / snowboarding holiday!

Excellent place to stay in Nozawa. Staff were English speaking and pointed us in the right direction being first time Skiing. The accommodation was clean and the lodge had a great friendly vibe. Nozawa is also a very quaint town and not too commercial.

We stayed at Lodge Nakajima for a week recently and can highly recommend. It is family run so has a personal vibe and the owners are extremely friendly and caring. It was snowing heavily the day we left and we could not get a taxi so they drove us to the bus station. Our room was spotlessly clean, and quite spacious by Japanese standards. We had plenty of space for luggage, clothes and our personal effects. We had a heater (which we used rarely) and tea making facilities. Towels were refreshed every second day.I was concerned about no ensuite but in fact we had a toilet and basin right outside our room which seemed to be for our exclusive use - I never saw anyone else using them. The ski storage/drying room facilities are more than adequate, there is a washing machine (200JPY) and a little sitting area on the top floor with drinks vending machine and free coffee. Breakfast was western style - fruit, cereal, toast and always a cooked plate of eggs of some description. It is a small lodge so the guests get to know each other and dining room is a real meeting hub. It also doubles as a cafe/bar for the public until 4pm. They do not serve dinner but it is a short stroll down the hill to the centre of the village where there are lots of eating options. The best bits were the in-house bath house/onsen and the location - just 10m across the road to the main gondola and ski back to the front door. Loved it - we will definitely come back here again.

The Sachinoyu Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Shigakogen, Japan with easy access from the Nagano Shinkansen Station. Through a central but secluded location, our hotel serves as the hub for all your outdoor adventures including skiing, snowshoeing, paddle boarding, hiking in the beautiful surrounding mountains. In addition to all the outdoor activities, the hotel is located nearby to local attractions such as the Shibu Onsen and the Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park.
I stayed here in June for a weekend trip to Shiga Kogen and had a great stay. Our first night we ate BBQ in the hotel restaurant and the owners took us to see the stars at top of a nearby mountain. We slept well in our tatami mat room. The extensive breakfast buffet was delicious. There is hiking, firefly viewing, canyoning, and standup paddling boarding nearby.

Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed the gracious hospitality of this hotel. From Nagano Station, you take a bus run by Nagaden Co. to the bus stop called Shiga Kogen Yama No Eki (about a 90 minute ride, 1700 yen per person). The bus runs 7 times a day (first run is at 0900 and last run is at 1725--from January 4-March 22, there is a 2100 bus). Once we got on the bus, we called Hotel Astoria and they picked us up from the Yama No Eki stop. They graciously let us order dinner even though it was after 7pm--an a la carte menu that was a lot cheaper than food on the slopes. We then made a reservation for both breakfast and dinner for the rest of our stay (excellent food, great price). They shuttle you whenever you would like to go the Hasuike lift and rental area--we rented snowboards and skis through the hotel and it was 2500 yen per person per day. This is a family run hotel and although their English is limited, they have an English menu and we communicated fine. It is in the middle of a wintery forest and after skiing it was great to relax in their onsen and eat their delicious food. There is no restaurant that you could walk to in the winter, but in the summer, the walk to the Yama No Eki stop is about 10-15 minutes and there is a small store and Mexican restaurant there. There is no Family Mart/convenience store in walking distance. We did not need a car because they drove us everywhere when we wanted to go (they have a large shuttle van). If you want a wonderful forest setting and hospitable service, I recommend this hotel. I look forward to returning here whenever we ski at Shiga Kogen (an awesome ski mountain with great snow and not as crowded as Niseko).

We stayed at Yukiyama Lodge for 6 nights, and we had a great time! The lodge owner was very friendly and always conjured up delicious meals. You sleep on futons (a type of Japanese bed on the floor) which are very comfortable. Also while we where there 25cm of powder snow came and skiing was fabulous! Overall I would definitely recommend Yukiyama Lodge as a place to stay if you go to Nozawa Onsen.
