This hotel is on a huge and beautiful property which you can enjoy in any season. You can get a cart to drive around, nice natural walk and views. The hotel is newly renovated, clean and very nice service. Due to the design of the hotel the rooms have no view. The onsen is OK but not great. Rather small and cold unless you are in the bath. No sauna. Dinner and breakfast is nice. After dinner they have marshmallow cooking outside for the kids. Shima is a beautiful place to visit. We recommend Shima Spain Village amusement park and also Ninja Kingdom Ise.

About 130 minutes from the central japan international airport Centrair. Space of the relaxation that tradition and nature produce.
This was definitely my best experience at a hotel in Japan. Hotel staff were very courteous and attentive. We were treated like VIPs throughout the stay. Our room was superb, with a great view of the bay. The bed and pillows were very comfortable (where can we buy those pillows?). The room was very quiet. In many hotels, you will often hear some buzzing noise of AC (?), but not in this hotel. We particularly enjoyed our time in the guest lounge with a reading room—looking over Ago Bay at sunset and enjoying small but exquisite hors d'oeuvres (the quiche was a killer!). For non-readers, this is a romantic place to look into your lover’s eyes. I enjoyed reading, relaxing next to my husband, who was sipping wine. I couldn’t finish “Karei-naru Ichizoku” so we will come back to finish the book. It would be better if the reading room had a better selection of books both in Japanese and in English--for example, some novels set in ocean resort hotels (I can recommend some), and reading lamps (for after sunset). Our stay concluded with an amazing breakfast. Although it was called “American breakfast,” it came with soup (which tasted great) and a salad (which tasted great, too, and very very fresh—cucumbers tasted amazingly juicy). I have never had a better egg benedict! The hollandaise sauce is flavored with shrimp, elevating the egg benedict to a real French dish. Overall, this is the best place to come when you want to be pampered. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

About 15o minutes from Central japan international airport Centrair.Whether you want to be soothed by nature or play it. Your high quality holidays start here.
2022 began. It is the hotel where I stayed at the end of the year. Both dinner of the evening and breakfast were the buffet. Tekone-zushi of the dinner and fishery products, turban shells ,steak were very delicious. The room stayed in the maisonette room of the top floor. The 5-year-old son was delight, too. The hot spring could go by a communication corridor, and there was it in the facilities called the aqua palace! I could look at the very beautiful starlit sky in the astronomy building. I was able to have an experience good at all!

Please note that children under 6 years (pre-school children) are not allowed at the restaurant.
This hotel is out of the way, it is not covered on the JR Pass and there are not huge cities nearby. In fact, for most foreigners I can’t think of a compelling reason why they would think about Shima, but if you come you won’t be disappointed. First a warning: this is a good place to really unwind, relax, look at the sea, go to Marineland (interesting acqurium nearby) hit up the local Onsen, etc. There is not a ton to do in the immediate walkable vicinity that I found. Now the hotel - the hotel, and whole town for that matter, were PUMPED to have the G7 a few years ago. The hotel has numerous plaques and photos to the event. The amusing thing is it is like the hotel forgot the G7 was in 2016, and thus the service is world class, as though a president might walk out of a room at any moment. It really is an amazing hotel. Why should such an out of the way hotel have such good English speakers? No idea, but it was fantastic. Why was everyone, every single one, of the staff so kind and courteous? No idea, but wow. Stayed in many five-stars in Japan, but this was the best service. Definitely get a package with at least breakfast. The food was fabulous. The rooms were divine and very peaceful. This has become super long, but I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. If you’re not from Japan you’ll likely be the only foreigner there, which can be a nice change from packed Kyoto. Why is such a world class hotel so far out? No idea, but I’ll take it.

We have been in Japan often and This is the best half board onsen hotel we Ever had. Location near supermarket, outdoor onsen view was great, especially in the morning. Food was excellent, we stayed for 2 nights had different types of JAPANESE food, the second day was BBQ. Too much food with good quality. There is massage chair in the onsen lobby which you can use after hot springs which was thoughtful. One disadvantage which I have to say will be there are around 3 mins road to the hotel which is very narrow, need to drive carefully. Otherwise it’s the best hotel and good value for money.

Hotel
We stayed for just a night. The check in staff was fast and friendly. The room was huge with the very comfortable beds and extra Tatami room to relax. The bath room has a huge window overlooking the ocean. Also there is a huge balcony only to see the ocean and the horizon. The ocean was crystal clear. There is a huge public baths for men and women. They have buffet dinner and breakfast in a restaurant over looking the ocean and at dinner you can watch the sunset. The food including Japanese and Western style dishes is pretty good, sushi, tempura, sashimi, steak, chicken, vegetables and salad. The freshly cooked rice was delicious. The pool was not big but was nicely located over the ocean and there is a staircase to go down to the beach. You have to pay 100 en for the towels and 300 yen for the beach umbrella and beach picnic mats. It should have been all free. The food they serve at the pool is very limited. Also there is no one to serve the guest on the beach. They should have a little hut to provide the guests for the deck chairs, beach umbrellas and drinks etc. there were a lot of know da and family on the beach so it would be very helpful and bring this hotel status as a true resort hotel. Also they close the pool and the beach at 5 pm which is way to early to enjoy it. Month less the stay was enjoyable with the very friendly staff.
