My House Restaurant serve you best Thai food in town.we offer Myanmar & Shan Traditional foods , Fresh Seafood, Chinese,Thai & cocktails bar.
Wide ranging menu with both Myanmar and Thai based dishes available. Dietary issues were address by very friendly and helpful manager. Best Shan noodles by far compared to all other venues tried in the country. BYO wine was fine with them. Even provided a ride back to hotel in their own vehicle for a patron with a leg issue. Absolutely would go back (we did the second time we were in Taunggyi). Don't expect plush surroundings but do expect really delicious food.
This lovely restaurant should get more good reviews to be on Top. Food is delicious. So far, the only best Thai restaurant I can find in Taunggyi. Highly Recommended.
Thaifoods/ salad / bbq / Hotpot / Shan traditional foods
I came upon this gem in Nyaung shwe (near Inle Lake). The authentic Thai food here was a refreshing change from all of the Myanmar food I was eating daily during my travels. The place is very clean (it was only a month old when I visited in October) with a cottage feel. I learned that it is run by two ethnic Shan sisters who grew up in Thailand and returned home to Myanmar. Their food is authentic and much cheaper than the usual restaurants listed in Tripadvisor.Location is tucked away behind 81 Hotel and next to a new building construction. It's set in from the road but there is a sign.
Taunggyi Food Guide: 10 Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Taunggyi
Shan food is very delicious, particularly the Shan noodles and there are lots of restaurants in Taunggyi that serves Shan Food. But once in a while we crave for other foods as well and Lotus Thai Restaurant offers a welcome alternative, Thai Food. I have been there only once and I can say this joint serves quality food. I have tried their pork stew and it is delicious. I do not know how authentic as I am not an expert on Thai Cuisine, but the dish is done right, the pork is very tender, seasoning is right and the tamarind based dip is typically Thai, piquant, hot and spicy. The owner Eddie was very gracious and was very helpful in recommending the dish for a single diner with special dietary needs. The serving and table setting was well done and the restaurant is very pleasing, neat and tidy, not cluttered unlike the other restaurants. Next time I come I will try the seafood hotpot.

This was one of the few restaurants close to the hotel we stayed in on a recent visit to Taunggyi. I wasnt expecting too much from it but it was a surprisingly modern restaurant and bar on different levels on one of the hills outside the town. The service was a little haphazard with some confusion about the orders but nothing I would complain about. The staff took care of it and were fast and efficient. The food was reasonably good too and the view before it got dark was lovely. I would recommend it if you are in the area

The newly open Green Chilli Restaurant (Nampan)(same ownership of Green Chilli Restaurant in Nyaung Shwe) is located in Nampan Village, Inle Lake, just next to the most visited boat building workshop in the area and three minutes by boat from Golden Islan
I had a good lunch with my local guide at this restaurant. Our meal included a big fried fish, pea-soup, tomato salad, chicken with potato curry & dessert. We were observing passing boats and other stilted structures near by. It was a nice relaxing atmosphere.Service was also very good
