This review is for the Brickfields 196, Jalan Tun Sambathan, Kuala Lumpur branch. One of the more authentic banana leaf restaurants in Kuala Lumpur. A small quaint shop, basic decor and seating.Tried out their Saravanaa Vegetarian Banana Meal at MYR 11.40, not bad. Though I'm missing my local style banana leaf with heaps of fish and mutton curry.

Authentic Indian and Fusion Vegetarian Cuisine. Indian Mithais, Falooda, Kulfi & Eggless cakes and bakes.
The food was good, but somehow did not live upto the expectations I had of this place. Staff was nice and accommodating. Decor was very basic and did not match the prices.

Extremely tasty food and nice, quiet setting on a weekday lunch. Better vibe than it looks on web photos and the customers were a mix of Indians and Westerners. I wanted to try everything on the menu because it was that good. Definitely coming back many times. Pranic juice so zesty and flavoursome, palak paneer rich and creamy and the puri pooni starter was divine- highly recommend that one in particular, melt in mouth and crunch in one bite and the spicy mint sauce is so tasty. Cocunut ladoo and patissa were both super sweet as Indian desserts always are but they were the perfect little portions to accompany a great masala chai tea to round the whole meal off.

Went with a group of around ten people after our business meetings and it was well worth it. The food was amazing. Services Indian food and caters to both veg and non veg. They served some super appetizers of tandoori meats and Vegetables. They also serve alcohol and an array of juices. The service could have been a bit better. Advice to have a reservation as I feel the place could get filled up. The ambience is also quite nice and simple.

We came before 6pm and pleased that we can easily get a table here and enjoyed our dinner. The fried Kian Tenggiri and bitter gould are a must for me. Before long, the restaurant filled up quickly and queue built up. So come early.

You can visit this place just for the ambience. It is really amazing. A huge choice of food of various cuisines. We were vegetarians, still we had enough to eat. Excellent service by the staff. The Indian chef there is a bit grumpy, he needs an attitude change, twice seen him behaving the same way, but having said that the pasta he made was very tasty. There is Indian vegetarian food also. The best part is the deserts, huge selection with a chocolate fountain, frozen yogurt with so many toppings, for those who love deserts you must visit. Was my wife's birthday and they wished her and gave a small cake also. Check for credit card offers or offers through Fave app where you can get 40 to 45% on the listed price which is ridiculously high. Would like to visit againDear harishbala, Warmest greetings and thank you for sharing your experience with us. It has been a pleasure to have you here, and we are delighted that you enjoyed the ambiance and food served, especially desserts and pasta! Having said that, we have noted on your recommendations for future improvements. We look forward to welcoming you back to Latest Recipe again soon!Best regards,Michael DelargyGeneral Manager

We arrived for supper with friends and our 3 kids on a weekday night. The place was alive and bustling with a good crowd. They close at 10.30pm.Wait staff were attentive and the restaurant is very clean and well-spaced.Most of our orders arrived individually within 10 mins.Everything on the menu was delectable.Particularly the dosa, the semolina idly and the almond dessert which was fluffy and very tasty! The chutney and accompanying dishes were spot on, taste-wise!So, if you are craving for a little south-indian food, this is the right place to hit!A little pricey but worth every ringgit!P.s Toilet and hand wash area was clean and well-lit.Dear diner,Thank you for your kind feedback. We are delighted to know that you had a great experience at MTR. We wish to draw your attention towards the fact that spice mixes and other important ingredients that are used at the MTR Malaysia kitchen are sourced directly from the central kitchen in Bengaluru, India, where they are prepared from scratch without preservatives and sent out to all the MTR restaurants in the country and abroad. We at MTR do not compromise in quality or quantity. This, perhaps, explains the pricing. We invite you to visit us again to try the signature dishes at MTR. Looking forward to seeing you again.
