Right next to the sea across from the Heringsdorf's famous pier, this luxurious hotel is the address of choice for discerning holidaymakers visiting the island of Usedom. With atrium-style architecture making ample use of glass and lots of indoor tropical plants taking advantage of the copious natural daylight, the hotel interior is an oasis of relaxation and tranquillity. Swim in the outdoor pool in summer while others sunbathe at the beach only metres away, or watch the winter whip up the Baltic sea from the cosy warmth of the library - the Maritim Hotel Kaiserhof is a fabulous place to stay regardless of the season.
7 pm arrival. The sliding doors of the hotel entrance remained closed. We rang and waited in the cold evening air for 5 minutes before a grumpy concierge came to the door and again asked what we wanted. Reluctantly he let us in. It seems that he was not familiar with the concept of ‘guest’ nor ‘hospitality’ for that matter. The wifi was a case of hit or miss, usually the latter. There is always the TV, with a choice of over 50 channels. Make sure you speak German though, as you won’t find anything beyond local, regional or the national border. The breakfast was very good and the seaview excellent.

A holiday in a gracious and harmonious atmosphere - that's what the Travel Charme Strandidyll Heringsdorf is all about. With its impressive architectural design, the four-star superior hotel is enthroned in magnificent grounds immediately overlooking the Kaiserpromenade and the Baltic beach. Its warmth and casual stylishness create an ambience, in which anything you undertake is a pleasure and every dining delight becomes an exquisite voyage of discovery. Not to mention the cordial hospitality.
We were very much in two minds about the hotel and our experience. There was lots of wonderful things to share but we also came away from it feeling a bit uneasy and unwelcomed as English speakers. I speak some basic German, but my husband doesn’t, besides a few worlds here and there. Its quite unusual to be in a hotel of this level and have so many staff not speak a word of English. This in it self although surprising was not of course in any way offensive, we have learned that smiles, hand gestures and few local words can get you by just fine. However we were not prepared, the frustration or even anger directed at us at times for not speaking German. Quite peculiar really for a business based on hospitality. Although fair to say we were the only non german guest in the hotel. But let’s start with the good. The hotel is set in a wonderful garden. The manicured laws and nature create a wonderful backdrop to the pool area and the outside restaurant terrace. The inside-outside pool was never too busy and there were plenty of sunbathing options around for one to be comfortable. The beach is only a short stroll away across the promenade. Location was peaceful and we were only ever worked up by the birds, not an unwelcome wake up for us. Bedrooms were very spacious and clean, however an investment into the quality of linen and pillows would be welcomed. It has to be said that I cannot recall such poor quality at this star rating level. The food was unfortunately average. Breakfast served respective of the new Covid guidelines, a pre-order of cold buffet elements to be made night before. Hot items ordered in the morning, a humble selection of eggs (scrambled, fried, boiled and plain omelette), meats (sausage, bacon) and crepe. Quality unfortunately 3 star at best and that is me being generous due to the outstanding waiter who was the highlight of this service and restored our faith in German hospitality. Food across dinners and lunches along the same lines as breakfast, not terrible but average at a stretch and definitely very overpriced for the quality. We never made it to Belvedere. Spa was our most unfortunate experience. My husband tried to book a massage for us both on the last night. As English is not widely spoken by the staff, he was unsuccessful and upon arrival there was only a booking for one. We made no fuss, but the spa person was very annoyed, we tired to rebook perhaps for another time, but there were no more options. We politely accepted the misunderstanding and took the message for one. Still seeming angered, the person continued to semi bark at me in german putting me through the paces. There was no attempt to really communicate with me in a pleasant manner. The massage itself was fine, the room clean and relaxing, but the attitude before and after so cold and angry it really took away from the entire experience. It was the first time in my life that I didn’t tip a spa and was angry at myself for going though the booking given his clearly terrible attitude. We are already planning a trip back to the area with our family, but not sure if this hotel would be back on our consideration list.

The Strandhotel Ostseeblick welcomes you with the warmth of a family-run hotel. You will find us between the Baltic Sea and the Achterwasser on the island of Usedom directly on the beach of Heringsdorf.Terrific Panaramablick and 2000 hours of sunshine a year. No matter which season you come to us - it's always a revelation.
In general a decent hotel, with decent (smallish) rooms. Service and staff is schooled well and friendly. The rooms are fine and clean, water included, no minibar, bathroom old and misdesigned (flooding the bathroom with each shower). TV doesn't have Netflix. Bed is ok, not overwhelming. Main drawbacks: - parking - food - spa (was closed) The parking situation is horrible: each day costs 7 EUR for a parking spot 300m away from the hotel. You can only pay in coins at the spot and only for one day. Hence, you have to walk each day to the place and are expected to withdraw cash and additionally change it to coins if you are used to pay with cars like me. The vegan options are poor. For breakfast you get no soy yoghurt, no tofu, no meat or cheese substitute at all, only cucumber and salad, nothing that is designed to be vegan. Dinner is also "leave-out-vegan". Taste is ok (a bit tasteless, no spices or flavor but quality is fine) but as the meat (which is the costly part) is left out without substitute it doesn't taste like a meal anymore. Considering that we payed the same, this is a joke. Additionally, I have never seen smaller tableware for breakfast, if you want to eat a decent amount you have to walk 5 times. I know, this is normal for hotels, but here the tinyness is way beyond normal. For a hotel in this price-category to try to save costs so much here, leaves a bitter taste. Spa was closed without compensation. The small replacement in another building was open only from 10am to 7pm, so we never went there. They informed us spa wouldn't be available one week before, so that booking some other place was impossible. How can you not know that you are renovating your own spa a bit in advance? Feels like scam. All in all this hotel is fine, but not worth its money. Not able to compete in both quality and price with other countries once Covid allows to travel abroad again.

You can't stay closer to the beach. The family-run Strandhotel Heringsdorf is situated directly on the promenade, just 30 m from a fine sandy beach on the Baltic coast. Enjoy the lovely views, the fresh sea air, the endless white sand and the very special light on the sea. And also the sun as well, because it shines here more than anywhere else in the country!
Strandhotel Heringsdorf was a wonderful experience for a long weekend stay. We reserved a table at the restaurant in advance and made a second reservation while we were there because the food and service was so good. Although they were able to accept some guests without a reservation while we were there, they were always very full. The lounge was great for afternoon cake and tea. We were picked up at the train station by a classic old bus styled from the 1940’s like an Agatha Christie Novel. We were greeted warmly by the Guest Relations Director since we had travelled from Canada. I was surprised at how many of the staff spoke English, when I phoned from Canada, at the reception desk, the lounge, and the restaurant. We were introduced to the owner Dr. Molik who explained the history of the hotel. Our room was in the new extension section, with a sitting room and a large balcony overlooking the beach and promenade. The room had a large tub in an alcove, and the wc in a separate room. A king sized four-poster bed was very comfortable. The hotel has extensive spa facilities but we only used the panoramic sauna and solarium on the top floor. The breakfast buffet was magnificent.

This hotel has very nice location, close to the sea and promenade and also not far from the railway station. The room was quite spacious. Possibilities for other activities then sleep were provided, there was a desk, an arm-chair with a reading lamp. Bathroom is quite small. My window and balcony were opening to the entrance area of the building and on the 2nd floor it is not very convenient. I also used spa-area. There is a whirlpool and one sauna. Everything is very tiny and I was lucky, that only 4 guests except me were using it at the time. In other cases it can get crowded, especially in the rest area, where only 3 chairs are provided. Breakfast was good, some fish reminded, that we are by the sea. On Eastern Sunday there were additionally some cupcakes and deserts provided. This is so old-fashioned and Germany-like not to have free wifi...

We booked a "2-Room Suite" which is actually a two room apartment with with hotel service, access to the spa and breakfast included. These apartments belong to the hotel "Pommerscher Hof" and are served from there. The hotel and the apartment buildings share an underground garage which allows you to reach the hotel lobby and restaurants without going outside - we did it only once and would not recommend it: The short walk outside is much easier and without any horizontal and vertical diversions. The spa use (see the hotel description for more details) was included in the price, we went there only once because it was a little bit crowded and the changing rooms were tiny and did not offer much privacy. Although the rate included the spa access, the bill later showed that the charge was 10 Euro per day. The rooms in the apartment are new, the decoration somewhat maritime, a little bit old-fashioned in our opinion. All items needed in the kitchen were available (micro wave, oven, coffee maker, water maker, plus dish towel, dishwasher tablets were new every day; however, no amenities in the bathroom other than liquid soap (dispenser near sink and shower). The breakfast buffet offered plenty choices and was nicely presented but we felt that every item was of the cheapest quality and not worth the price of 12 Euro which appeared on the bill as separate item. When we get to Heringsdorf again, we will try other places first. At this time of the year (November), the hotel seems to attract the senior generation - some with their grandchildren below school age. A few other couples were there, too. If you prefer eating a good breakfast in peaceful environment: Buy the stuff in the stores nearby and eat in your room.

Great hotel with nice staff and location but very unfriendly GM Carsten Willenbockel who approached us asking for our hotel credentials when coming back from the beach promenade. Our laid back style did not seem to meet this gentleman's (high) standards. Extremely rude, definitely not the kind of behavior one expects from the management of such a hotel. We will not be back.....
