Very happy with our stay. Left a phone charger in the room which was posted to our house the next day which was very much appreciated. Staff friendly. Only downside was that there wasn’t enough parking in the hotel car park and probably not all the cars were staying at the hotel.

A friendly hotel with lovely polite and helpful staff. From outside this hotel looks pretty plain but once your inside it is really very nice, well decorated and clean with a lovely lounge and dining room. We had room #22 which faced the sea and had superb views of the Farne Isles. The room had all the usual items, kettle, tea, coffee, biscuits and the now must have WiFi. The bathroom was stocked with shampoo and shower gel and had a very nice over bath shower. Breakfast was really nice with a large selection of eats on the menu. Parking was free and accommodation is only a 10 minute walk into town centre.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at the hotel. The room was very spacious and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, especially the hash browns! We also had an evening meal in the restaurant which was very good, and reasonably priced compared to some of the restaurants in Seahouses. The bar was well stocked with a good choice of beer and gin. It was lovely sitting outside in the beer garden in the sunshine. The hotel is located near to all the main attractions and it’s only a 15-20 minute walk into Seahouses. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly book again.

Just back from another couple of days at Olde School House. As usual, comfy and clean room with tea/coffee tray and fresh milk and water in fridge to help yourself to. Joan makes a cracking breakfast and offers plenty of extra tea/coffee and toast if you can manage it! Good weather while we were there made it even better! Thanks Joan and family x

My friend and I arrived here at the end of our third day of walking the Northumberland Coast Path only to find that the hotel had no record of our booking, which had been made by a walking holiday company. Not really what you want to hear after walking 14 miles. We don't yet know how this happened but it looks as if it may have been to do with a change of ownership earlier in the year, when our booking seems not to have transferred. Fortunately, manager Paul went above and beyond and managed to find my friend a room in the hotel that was not being let because of some minor faults and found me a room in a BnB on the edge of town, which was fortunate as every other hotel and BnB was full. He also drove me there with my case. We were grateful for Paul's help and support. The bar was really busy but well run. There are lots of artefacts in the bar and restaurant, some of which were very interesting, but it does make for a bit of a cluttered look. However, there is no doubt the place is very popular both for eating and drinking. We ate here too. Despite being really busy, service was quite speedy and the food was decent. Like everywhere else, the Olde Ship was experiencing staff recruitment issues and you could see that one or two of the staff were fairly new. However, there was a young man and a young woman (whose names we got but I have forgotten) who were obviously experienced and professional and who were keeping things running smoothly and doing a great job. Overall, despite the mix-up over the booking, I'd have to recommend this place based on the good service and food in difficult circumstances and on the efforts made to resolve the problem.

Great views and a fantastic location. Close to all the amenities in Seahouses and well placed to visit many brilliant places nearby. Even in the depths of winter there is many options. The room was well equipped, comfortable and stylish. Breakfast was a highlight, eggs Benedict was out of this world. The jewel in the crown is a fantastically friendly and helpful team. Can’t wait to go back and discover the best of Northumberland.

This is a former farmhouse located in a rual position about half a mile outside the built up area of Seahouses. There only appear to be 2 b&b rooms, the very friendly proprietors also having nearby holiday lets. Our bedroom was of good size, well decorated and equipped with a fully equipped ensuite. Very full english breakfast (ordered the previous night) with all the trimmings - cereal, fruit juice, jam, toast etc. served in a pleasant dining room with a view of the garden which is available to guests. Plenty of local information sheets an brochures in the entrance hall and dining room, also a good selection of OS maps - please return after use. All in all a very pleasant stay.
