Find out what Cafe restaurants to try in Kirriemuir. Kirriemuir, sometimes called Kirrie, is a burgh in Angus, Scotland. Its history reaches back to earliest recorded times, when it seems to have been a major ecclesiastical centre. Later it was identified with witchcraft, and some older houses still feature a ‘witches stane’ to ward off evil. In the 19th century, it was an important centre of the jute trade. The playwright J.M. Barrie was born and buried here, and a statue of Peter Pan stands in the town square.

Stopped in for a break on drive to Aberdeenshire, liked it so much we stopped again on the way back. Having had a pretty awful previous experience at another nearby establishment we were well impressed with the mill. The food is all homemade, mushroom soup was particularly nice and the sandwiches fresh and tasty. Coffee good, cakes looked tempting but didn't try. Staff very pleasant and friendly, prices reasonable. Outside seating available too.

Found ourselves in Forfar looking for somewhere to eat, and decided on Tiffins purely on appearance from outside. It looks unpretentious and that is what it is. Once inside, it is clean and staff welcoming. The Sri Lankan owner is very friendly and keeps a close eye on the running of the restaurant.I chose the "authentic chicken curry", which the owner explained was a Sri Lankan recipe and cooked by his wife. My partner had macaroni cheese as she is vegetarian. The meals arrived quickly and I have to say the curry was excellent; better in fact than most of the specialist curry restaurants I have been to. The side salad was fresh, and in general the to meals were very good. It all seemed to have been freshly cooked, rather than some of the microwaved frozen offerings you get served at the bigger chain type restaurants. If you're in Forfar, give Tiffins a try, you won't regret it!

this restaurant is located within the Castle itself and is used by the visitors to the ancestral castle where the Bowes- Lyons still live since the 13 Century . The home of the late Queen Mother as it was her fathers castle and estate .
A nice place to stop after the tour to enjoy a cup of tea and a cake. Highly recommend the Victoria sponge, though my friend had the Millionaire's shortbread. Both servings were substantial and one cannot complain about being unsatisfied. Nice tea and hot chocholate.
My partner and I stayed 3 nights while attending a local festival at the end of April 2016. We found the owners Gareth and Anne very hospitable and genuinely happy to see us.Although we only stayed a few nights we were treated like old friends. They went out of their way to help with our travel arrangements into Kirriemuir without hesitation (twice). The food in the Wee Bear Cafe (which included the breakfast) was fabulous, both fresh and exceptionally tasty. Home baking of an epic quality. Generous portions are the order of the day and were enjoyed to the full. Nice to see vegetarians and vegans catered for too.The lounge and guest kitchen facilities are excellent and informal where we met fellow guests and chatted long into the night before a cosy and comfortable sleep in our nicely appointed room. Will definitely return one day :-)

This cafe has a limited menu. Coffee was good. Food was acceptable, only. Service friendly but rather lacking in care and attention

We took our Kinfolk to this wonderful family friendly eating establishment for a great lunch, which was lovely and a reasonably priced combo. The Staff are very friendly and hospitable. We would highly recommend this excellent cafe with an adjacent gift shop for browsing. Well worth a visit. Enjoy Cheers John

Worth a trip out here to sample lovely, delicious home cooked and baked goodies. We've been a few time, mostly at the weekend. This visit was a Friday morning, on this occasion things felt a little on the back foot, like they were not really prepared for a full house or maybe not enough staff. Menu is always limited and differs from the weekend ( which isn't big either) but that everything is cooked fresh to order, therefore takes a wee while. Soups are always quirky flavours and very delicious. Then there are the cakes and scones again odd combinations but so good. They also dated well for gluten free.Dog friendly, lovely friend oh staff too.
