As previously the food was outstanding but if our waitress had ever been trained she has forgotten more than she ever remembered! We arrived to allocated table, with menus, we selected our wine and our food....the waitress remembers that at 4pm there is a change of menu and they have not been changed. We ask for a jug of water and it does not arrive, we ask for three macaroni, two with bacon as a side....we get one....we ask for two cappucinos and get one ....we ask for the bill three times and have to go chasing it......how sad that a brilliant eating place allows this non service experience to be its more memorable feature. Let's get the act togetherHi there and thanks for the review. Long story short, we have been on the search for a new floor staff member and you were served by the one we we trialling. She never cut the mustard and never got the job and apologies you had the very small window to experience this. Hope you'll be back for a much more of the same when the act is most definitely back together!

This a place you need to go hungry to. Generous portions served with a choice of a variety of lovely rich and silky mash potato. If you order the gammon be prepared to tackle a very generous piece of flavoursome meat. We were lucky to get in as they donât take bookings and the waiting time for a table was over an hour by the time we left so probably best to go early. Good selection of drinks and really friendly serviceIt's great to hear you had a good time with us and enjoyed our generous portions. It's true that the place can become very busy at peak times, almost frantic, but we are lucky to be surrounded by nice places where people who have their name on the waitlist can go for a drink. Visited for a birthday - was welcomed and quickly shown to seats. Decor very nice. Clearly been some improvements recently.Menu offers good choices. We had 3 pasta dishes and a pizza. Alll good - helpings large .We squeezed in a sweet!Service very good- no chased from table.

Visited yesterday for lunch,food was excellent as normal but was really difficult to find a clean table, sadly lots of dirty dishes on them and even if the dishes had been lifted tables had not been wiped, also had drinks but no ice available.

This is such a cool pub! We kept coming back. Great place to hang out and have a beer at night. We went back for lunch and the haggis was so good. You must have the steak, too...with truffle fries!!

Nice breakfast. Although Groupon didn't specify that the voucher only covered the small breakfast. We weren't given the choice of how we would like our eggs done, so they came fried.The tea and toast weren't included and we were charged £8.50 for 2 cups of tea and 2 slices of toast each.Nice, but paying full price makes it too expensive.

Myself and my mum came along with our 3 children and had a fantastic experience. Very busy when arrived and the person in charge was extremely accommodating and had us seated rather quickly despite being so busy and we hadn't booked. Food was fantastic and morish. Our lovely waitress emma could not be more helpful and so very well trained. Other staff members were fab with the girls aswell. We will definitely be back and bring more family. Called in with my daughter for lunch and we had a great time. Food was fantastic and staff were great and chatted as they worked. Both staff serving weren't kids and they would have put the kids to shame, they were busy but we're lovely with little diners and they just worked together beautifully. The food was great and freshly cooked. We both had pasta which was divine and hot and bubbly which is my perfect meal. Definitely worth a visit. We loved it. X
