After a long 30-hour day of travel, and evening arrival, our B&B host recommended Star Inn. Simply superb! Wife had very substantial Veggie Tart Salad. Never had something so good and unique. I had macaroni bake. Great portion size, all homemade, glorious on a cool night. Located about 7 miles from Inverness airport. Get off beaten path and try this pub/restaurant. Reasonable prices, great service and food! Located in town of Ardersier.

The food tasted lovely. Couldn't fault the venison and dumplings. However ---- waiting half an hour after everyone finished before being offered a dessert menu was atrocious. This despite 5 young waitresses congregated near the bar for almost all of the time. The clue, after giving up waiting, was sending our granddaughter to ask for a dessert menu yet despite that too, another 10 minute wait and we had to shout a waitress over to place an order. Then it seems we have arrived in the land of giants - an espresso served in a massive cup. Q. What's the difference between a large cup of black coffee and an espresso ? Shandwick Answer. No difference at all sir. Time the owners sent a mystery shopper in to experience this for themselves. Seems the cook can cook and the waitresses specialise in waiting. That would be the guests waiting.

Bright friendly cafe in Fortrose to suit all age groups. We have a fully kitted out disabled toilet. The cafe is wheelchair friendly. For the kiddywinkles we have a selection of toys to keep them amused, leaving mums and dads peace to enjoy the fabulous f
The fact that the cafe was very busy was an excellent sign and this was reflected intuit the service was really good. We also enjoyed the lunch and the cakes were as good as we have had anywhere.

Non-residents are always welcome. Food served every day from 12:00 - 9:00 pm in our Turret Bar or for a more formal, fine dining experience in The Alexander Restaurant.
My wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal again at Kincraig Castle Hotel to celebrate her birthday. Great food. Efficient, friendly welcoming staff. Never disappointed.

We stayed here overnight, as we were touring Scotland using the North Coast 500.We found the staff, really helpful, it was really busy as it was Fathers day.We had the most delicious beef roast dinner, it was amazing. We could see our motorbike from our room, which gave us piece of mind. Our room had a good view of the sea, and the oil rigs being repaired, but this didn't matter as people have to work, and the surrounding countryside was lovely. Our breakfast was good too. We would stay again

we stopped for a light lunch and a quick look at the factory and its products. The workmanship is impressive, the prices out of my league . . . As for lunch, it all depends what you want: we had a bowl of (lentil) soup and a cheese scone, both fine (especially the soup). Reasonable prices too. Coffee to follow. There's a range of scones and cakes - so ok for tea - but not much more, as far as I could see; so, fine for tea or a light lunch, but if you're seriously hungry (and fancy a beer), look elsewhere.

Arrived here for dinner with friends, and despite the seeming confusion with our booking , we were quickly given a table. The food, as usual, was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. This is a very nice venue and it is best to book I advance, especially during the Summer Season. We will be back!
