I go here fairly regularly as my family live nearby, the food is very good and excellent value, with a large menu and plenty of choice for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Friendly staff always give great service. The only negative point about the food is the desserts let it down, I had a âdeconstructedâ cake one time that was basically cheap strawberry sauce and other stuff chucked in a pot, not a big fan but otherwise starters and mains always excellent and more than make up for it! The thing that makes more inclined to choose other places over this one however, is the music. It is SO loud, almost every time I go here I remember why I tell myself next time Iâll go elsewhere. I wish theyâd sort it out as itâs otherwise a great place but I donât want music blasting so loud I have a headache and have to shout just to be heard every-time I go out for dinner. Last time I was there other tables were complaining also. I hope at some point in the future they turn it down to a more reasonable level. Iâd be happy to go here more often if they did! The four stars is for the food but the music honestly gives it a one for ambience.

Food was fine, my son loved his choice, service was half hearted, but it was the menu we thought it was on a deal however you have to look really close to find out it is just a few options on the meal deal, maybe help if the person serving you could point this out as Iâm sure Iâm not the only person made thus mistake! Not sure if we will return âºï¸

Decided to go for lunch at Applebank Inn and we were not disappointed.Fabulous customer service, prompt afriendly attention without intrusion.varied menu quite extensive, finally both settled on soup of day and chicken fajitas which can only be described as an explosion of flavours. Meal was served piping hot and big serving well presented.Reasonable priced lunch and we do hope to visit again soon with friends and try out some cocktails. We had a look at drinks menu which again prices were very good for cocktails(huge list of same).All in all good decision today to visit Applebank in all its spooky glory with Halloween decks adorning the premises to add to the atmosphere of pub. busy place with constant flow of people which speaks for itself.honestly couldnât fault

7 of us who meet regularly for lunch, this restaurant was suggested as a good Location.It turned out to be great. Friendly welcome as we all arrived, drinks order taken and menus delivered and the specials explained.The place is nicely set out, simple with a quiet family atmosphere.After ordering our food, the starters followed quickly, the Smoked Haddock Risotto with a poached egg on top was fabulous.My main of a Cod Steak on a bed of Chorizo and Kale Mash was excellent.We all enjoyed our selections and finished off with coffees.Two courses, coffees and soft drinks reasonable at £20.00.This place is a hidden gem, a bit out of the was but well worth a visit.We will be back.

Went with friends on Saturday night to find that there was a party being held in the Restaurant and thought this could be very noisy.This was not the case as they were the best behaved party goers i have met.Food was well presented and all courses that the 4 of us had were delicious especially the sea bass and the ginger sauce with the chicken dish was fantastic( I nearly had the cheek to ask for more)All in all a great night was had and the service was very friendly and professional.Be back soon!!!Thank you very much for your lovely comment hopefully see you soon.Catherine

6 of us came here (5 adults and a baby) for lunch recently. We were only really looking for some 'pub grub' but the menu in the restaurant was a bit more formal.The waiter told us that because we had a baby and he wasn't allowed in the bar, he could give us the bar menu to order in the restaurant. This was really good for us and we ordered from this menu.I had the Strathaven burger which was really nice and everyone seemed to enjoy their food. I felt the waiter was helpful and friendly and we made use of the high chairs for our little munchkin. Hi scottc1985,Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Nice venue which we visit fairly regularly. The food however is really inconsistent, some meals are a fairly safe bet e.g. steak sandwich, fish and chips. On Saturday 3 meals out of 6 were really poor trio of pork inedible, chicken supreme nice but the size you would expect for a starter.Perhaps need to stick to the basics, and also ensure you give value for money as prices are fairly high for what is on offer.Really need to up their game, as there is too much competition in the area. I cannot see me going back any time soon for food, but will drop in for drinks
