Reviews on Cafe food in Coatbridge, Scotland, United Kingdom. Coatbridge (Scots: Cotbrig or Coatbrig, Scottish Gaelic: Drochaid a' Chòta) is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, about 8.5 miles (13.7 km) east of Glasgow city centre, set in the central Lowlands. The town, with neighbouring Airdrie, is part of the Greater Glasgow urban area. While the earliest known settlement of the area dates back to the Stone Age era, the founding of the town can be traced to the 12th century, when a Royal Charter was granted to the monks of Newbattle Abbey by King Malcolm IV. Coatbridge, along with its neighbour Airdrie, forms the area known as the Monklands.

At Cafe Alba we offer a varied menu of quality fresh food that is excellent value for money, served by our friendly welcoming team. To ensure the high standards of dishes of which we are proud, we use as many Scottish products as possible; especially fish
While visiting my Mum in Airdrie I discovered Cafe Alba. It was great to see somewhere decent to eat in the town centre. Thought the menu was very good and nice staff.

Friendly staff and quick and efficient service. Modern cosy surroundings and a busy wee place with what seems like a lot of regular customers. 2 sit in breakfasts for a tenner is good value. Ingredients are okay for the price you pay too. It's a shame it's not bigger as I think this place could do really well as a sit in cafe, just very few tables

We were part of a tour group who called in here off the motorway for lunch on our way up to Aviemore. There are the usual mill outlet shops but I confess we were more interested in food.We had a special deal soup (minestrone) and sandwich. The portion sizes were definitely large and you needed a good appetite to clear both items - the sandwiches were what my dad would have called "doorstops" - a good amount of filling between two very thick slices of bread. Good toilet facilities.I will remember this place as a good roadside stop if I pass here on my own account.
Always a good mix of grub from here ,filled rolls excellent really tasty bacon good choice of fillings ,rolls or baguette, soup ,pasta, nice selection of cake's,, staff Deena and Ashley friendly and chatty .

Wonderful location, sense of adventure and something different. Was quite busy, great buzz, and started well. We sat, ordered, attentive. Served our meals and drinks. Salad on three of our plates was two uncut leaves of lettuce a cherry tomatoe halfed. We never got any service after this AT ALL. No one asked if food okay, nothing. The young lad polished cutlery. The older lady with dark hair ignored me from my seat twice, INCLUDING eye contact, RUDE! We wanted tea and cakes. Both mum and I went to the counter neither the lad or lady asked to help. Mum got upset as she is old school and painfully polite and shy. I sat at table between 2.40 and 3.25 my three guests left and went to car. Nothing. Not even cleared table. So, no cake or drink sales for you eh! You probably benefit from location but let down by ambivalent team.Hi anspur Iam so sorry you were left unsatisfied by our side salad, homemade coleslaw and turnells crisps which accompany our sandwiches etc, We would have been more than happy to give you more if you had asked. We are a wee tea house with a small community of friends and family that work here, I would like to explain although trip advisor isnât the place for this and if you could call me to explain, you may be a little more understanding as I know my mangers intentions were never to be rude or make you feel ignored.I am sure that you would understand and hopefully you would pop in another time in the future. I am available to discuss this any time. Regards Susan Dalziel on 07856719478

Popped in on a whim on a Sunday afternoon for a breakfast, warm friendly atmosphere and great banter from the owner Kirsty. Food was well cooked and delicious, and the price very reasonable. Iâll definitely be back on a regular basis, well done Kirsty.
