Posh Fish & Chips
Often go in here at weekends. The food is really good. Bit frustrating when after the shops great opening I went on one day and the card machine was âbrokenâ. So trekked over to Tesco, (there is no continuous pedestrian path) then the next time the excuse was the WiFi affecting card transactions so cash only. The third time no signs were up so I thought, hooray, back in business. But no, cash only. Apple Pay signs everywhere but you canât use that either. Today-I clearly gave my order-twice, after confusion the first time-and was rudely told to, âbe clearer next timeâ. Irritating that itâs now cash only and narked about attitude towards customers. At the outset, we were always offered complimentary homemade coleslaw but I notice thatâs stopped too. If you want to maintain custom maybe you might want to restore all the great touches you had at the start. I have a car so can easily go back to Maurizosâs in Inverkeithing, used to be my regular and score top points in every department.

The show-stopping new Shore Grill & Fish House, sitting proudly on the headland above the historic town of North Queensferry, is the latest destination venue from the creators of the award-winning Twenty Princes Street & Juniper cocktail bar in the heart
Enjoyed our visit to this restaurant that has a great view of the Queensferry Crossing.Starters were excellent we had mussels, the beetroot dish, pate and the pork and egg options from the menu with everyone enjoing their selection. The mains were eagerly anticipated and all dishes were a success. This included steaks, fish, the lamb tangine and the caeser salad with chicken. We did not try the desserts since we were all pretty full after the initial courses but we can try them on another occasion. The wines we selected were also very nice.I liked the layout and decor of the restaurant which is modern but also has a bit of atmosphere to it.My only suggestion would be to add a small steak on to the kids menu. It may have to be priced higher than the other dishes on there but I think there are a fair few youngsters who would like a steak alongside the grown ups.Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to The Shore Grill & Fish House. We are so pleased that you had an enjoyable experience namely the food, the wine and the atmosphere. All feedback is very much appreciated and I shall share your comments regarding the Children's Menu with the relative managers for their consideration. Thank you for choosing to dine with us in The Shore and we do hope you will choose to visit us again soon!

We had a fantastic lunch there one Saturday choose this restaurant because of the seafood selection & the great views. Recommend you book table. Staff were very friendly & helpful & although the restaurant was busy service was excellent throughout lunch.Like that you can have single oysters so you can try them as we did with our starters, we had our Kilpatrick style which was something new & liked them a lot. Wife had her favourite lobster grilled & in the shell which she really enjoyed I had the smoked haddock served on a bed of really creamy mash which was excellent. No dessert but we did have the cheese and as recommended on the menu paired it with a Scottish malt whisky flight something else that we had never tried before but this was excellent 3 cheeses & 3 malts & the pairings were great. At just over £50 per head for what we had was great value, in many places you would pay double want we paid for the lobster.

5 of us went for my sons birthday dinner, food was ok but service was terrible, we were seated upstairs (as requested), the young waiter boy was hopeless, not proactive at all in clearing tables, checking everything was ok, we had to keep calling him over - as he just stood all night at the top of the stairs! It wasnt even busy. We all received our food together apart from 1, when we chased it up took ages for the last meal to come - the waiter boy hadnt even realised we were a meal missing! I think he needs some more training. Not sure I will be back

The food was good and well presented. Unfortunately the desert menu was a little underwhelming and not helped that the desert menu itself was printed on a roughly torn scrap of paper unceremoniously dropped on the table. Sadly our dinning experience was marred by the surly and unwelcome manner of the staff. Such a shame as the food was good and the views of The Forth great but the front of house staff let the place down.
