Have not been for a while so decided to try again. The service and food were fine for the money although the Indian food arrived on the cool side. The battered fish was very good but the chips were not great. Starters were good.When we went to pay they took away our £40 and we waited, and waited for our £7 change. Eventually we had to go to the bar and they had put it in their tip jar. We suspect a bit of a con going on here by the staff member at the bar who said she did not know what she was thinking.Don't like this one bit.Dear ssenitThank you for your review. Firstly let me say from the outset that we as a business do not operate a "con" as you put it in relation to "tips"It would appear from discussing this with the staff member involved you left more money than the amount of the bill. I apologise that the staff member assumed that this was a gratuity and I have advised them, that they must be more diligent when dealing with bills in future. Not sure if this is just parts of Scotland but arrived at the hotel next door and looking forward to eating a carvery after a 300 mile trip.We arrived at 8pm and wanted to chill in the bar then go ahead with the meal and got the feeling they really didnt want to serve us as they were starting to take food from the carvery!there was no turkey left so had to have an empty pie (it was supposed to have mushrooms in it)We was 'told' where to sit and their was so many empty tables we would of liked to have sat at and not right by a table of 4 , felt we couldnt speak!Then I had to wait 30 mins for the pie and told ' go get your vegetable while you wait for your pie???? I didnt want vegatables as my 'starter'. The waitress was quite short with us on 2 occasionsThen we went to the bar for a drink at 9.30pm and by 10pm we realised the place was empty and the staff had their coats on! We felt so uncomfortable! We said 'oh we didnt realise you were closing and was told ' we HAVE closed already!!!!We went to the hotel , we felt so uncomfortableAlso I went to the toilet and there wasnt any toilet paper so I went to the bar to tell them and they said they had just put some in a while ago, I had to again state there wasnt any so they GAVE me a toilet roll and i had to walk through the bar with it, so bad!Hi Lynnederby01, we can assure you that we do not find this type of behavior acceptable, and we would like to address the situation you have described. Went for an evening meal but very disappointing.Not a lot of choice and also quality not as good for the price you can get a far better quality meal elsewhere we will not return.

First of all the restaurant is very modern and set out well, no complaints but the food was average. A starter of scallops was very well presented but slightly undercooked and a bit bland. Main course of fillet steak is expensive at £28 and you have to pay extra for a sauce which is ridiculous, I asked for medium and it's was rarer than that and not properly rested as blood ran onto plate when cut, the chips also underdone. With some improvements to the food this could be a good restaurant, it's also pricy for what it is.

We came here as a large group and had a most enjoyable, deliberately quick, lunch. The macaroni cheese and chips were particularly nice but everything we had was good.It's not haute cuisine but it is a good place for a casual lunch.
