Things to do in Ellon
Dropped in for a coffee and cake after visiting the House . Warm and welcoming ,light and clean with friendly and helpful staff .A nice array of home baking was available so our party decided on the fruit scones and the Teabread . The Teabread was an absolute revelation moist and full of flavour ,simply superb and fruit scones were good too. There was a small but attractive lunch menu which we will try next time we visit .
Ice Dreams is a small cafe in Ellon which has several amazing flavours of ice cream. It also does waffles, pancakes and cookie dough. As well as this, it has paninis, sandwiches and cakes amongst other things. Think Shakes & Cakes but far superior. When I say itâs small it is very small so it does get very busy. We went there for lunch today. A birthday treat for my daughter. She had the bubble dough. This was cookie dough with bubblegum ice cream, sauce and hundreds and thousands. I tasted a bit and thought I was going to have a heart attack! It was so sweet. But to kids and with those of us with a sweet tooth, oh so good.My mum went for the carrot cake and a coffee. It was a very moist cake but there was too much frosting on the top for her personal taste. Otherwise she enjoyed it. Hard to please my mum! My sister went for a chocolate indulgence waffle. I donât think she came up for air while eating it. It was demolished. âAmazingâ she said.I went for a chicken mayo panini. It came with salad and coleslaw. The salad was perfect. Iâm a crunchy lettuce person so I was happy with that. The panini was full but not too full that it went everywhere when I took a bite so I really liked that. The panini was not burnt either, sometimes places will grill the panini too much but this was perfectly done for me. For myself and my daughter with 2 drinks (water and a can of juice) it was £11.10. Very reasonably priced for what we had and the quality of food. Will definitely visit again and hope theyâre not too busy!

I thought it worthwhile to update my review of "Broomies". Am pleased to say that the standard continues, with an excellent and welcoming staff, good honest home cooked food and a bright outlook...even outdoor tables if the weather permits. During weekday lunchtime, it can get busy but there are always seats. the food is freshly cooked and the bain maries regularly topped up. We are early morning people as it opens at 0730 weekdays. A stones throw from the local rugby ground it has plenty parking. The filled rolls are just the business and well packed. It is nice to see a play area for little kids and plenty floor space for wheelchairs. Well done to all staff both front of house and in the kitchen. You probably cannot please all the people all the time, but from what I see, no one leaves on an empty stomach! Give it a bash you will not be disappointed. It is not silver service, just good home style food. I have noted that if asked, the staff are only too willing to bring hot coffee to the table. Well done guys,,,its that extra little step.

We are regulars not just because it's nearby but because it's excellent. Good service. Friendly atmosphere where you could come on your own and chat to someone at another table. Love the coffee, breakfast offerings, panini, home bakes ... there's nothing we haven't enjoyed.

In January 2018 our brand new coffee shop was born, The Barn in Foveran. We are a small family run business who strive for a warm and friendly welcome whilst delivering an outstanding menu for a coffee shop with freshly ground coffee, homemade cakes and s
Table booked for 16:45, drinks order not taken till 17:15, very very slow, carvery average, beef tuff and Yorkies burnt and ran out of oatmeal, more waiting and missed drinks orders, every request was forgotten and we had to chase. Seems to be busy, but obviously not able to cope. No plans to go back any time soon. We are very sorry you had this experience yesterday as this is not the level of service we want you to have at all. We have just started our Carvery Sundays a few weeks ago and were indeed extremely busy yesterday. We have been overwhelmed by the fantastic response and amazing feedback we have had so far. If you would like to contact me directly, we can discuss this further.
