Coatbridge (Scots: Cotbrig or Coatbrig, Scottish Gaelic: Drochaid a' Chòta) is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, about 8.5 miles (13.7 km) east of Glasgow city centre, set in the central Lowlands. The town, with neighbouring Airdrie, is part of the Greater Glasgow urban area. While the earliest known settlement of the area dates back to the Stone Age era, the founding of the town can be traced to the 12th century, when a Royal Charter was granted to the monks of Newbattle Abbey by King Malcolm IV. Coatbridge, along with its neighbour Airdrie, forms the area known as the Monklands.

Visited for a late lunch early dinner. Only after a main course before a trip to the cinema. Service lacked from the start, felt as if we were imposing. Then moved to disinterest when we did not want starters, did not want naan etc. Ordered a soft drink, and it never arrived. Ordered two bottled beers and two humongous 660ml beers arrived, could have asked us which size eh!! Curries chasni was a large bowl of soup with few bits of chicken, tasted ok but not well presented, not brilliant either though. Masala about the same. Got bill and left, not sure I would go back. Restaurant was not exactly busy so could put more effort in. Visited Sun 4th Dec 2016. YB Showcase.

It's been a long while since we have had anything from here but we thought we'd give it a go tonight and ordered takeaway. Some things were ok tasting- like the lamb and the chicken tikka puree but the chicken tikka itself to us was tasteless, the rice was bland and sauce was very thin and watery, prefer a thicker sauce. Portions weren't what we'd have expected for the money but we gave it a try but wouldn't rush back. Staff were very nice though which is a plus.

Shimla Cottage is a family run â100% Real Indianâ Restaurant. We pride ourselves to offer great value for money by providing top quality food, efficient service, friendship and a warm welcome to our customers. We promise to serve exactly same food as you
owner is vile -cheeky to his customers and very ignorant nothing special wont be back nothing but hassle from the minute we sat down was atrocious The owner has the worst customer service i have ever dealt with and he proves it by some of his replies on his reviews clearly cant take the criticism or handle the truth wouldnât recommend to anyoneYour review is very vague apart from attacking the owner you provide very little in-site to your experience (I doubt you even came here ) itâs more likely you have read reviews of our restaurant and thought you would provide one off your own. Letâs say for argument sake you did visit How do you know you were served by the owner did he have a sign saying Hi am the owner and I will be serving you. Along with your drinks and food Iâll throw in some vile and cheeky service so you donât come back. There is nothing we can take from this review apart from that you have 6th sense to spot an owner of a business (even though we wear the same uniform ). And if in the future we need to know the lottery numbers we will be in touch for your help.
