Within walking distance of The Old Course is Hamâs Hame, a Scottish pub where we warmed up on a rainy day with Butternut Squash soup that was divine. After that the husband ordered a goat cheese and beet root salad while I had the pomegranate chickpea salad. Both were delicious and service was excellent.

A contemporary, buzzy brasserie offering a casual, yet quality dining experience specialising in seafood and steak. Inspired by a traditional Grill House and promoting Scotlandâs finest seasonal ingredients with a twist of international flavours, Sands Gr
My wife and I visited the Sands Grill with Friends on Saturday the 14th. We were very impressed by the hotel and our accommodation and had high expectations for the restaurant. Unfortunately, the meal wasn't to the same standard as everything else we had experienced to that point. I had the cauliflower soup which I had to send back, I thought it was awful and I just couldn't eat it. I then had the rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce. The young waitress asked who was having peppercorn and I replied asking what type of steak did she have. She didn't know and had to ask one of her colleagues. The steak was so charred that it had a pronounced taste on the steak that left an unpleasant taste. Overall, I thought the service was slow and overly expensive for what was on offer. I wouldn't be in a hurry to go back.
