A gem of a find overlooking the water in Limkilns. Very friendly and welcoming pub with a great choice of both food and drinks, including local ales. We popped in three times whilst we stayed in the area - good quality lunch time menu and even when we just stopped off for a coffee one afternoon it was a really welcoming (I recommend you try the homemade scones). Thursday was open mic night for local musicians and was a really lively friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend it if you're in the area.Hi Sue,Thanks for taking the time to write your lovely review. Iâm glad you enjoyed our home made scones. They are delicious We look forward to welcoming you back again next time you are in the area. Many Thanks,Sarah and Kirk

We visited today for a family lunch and were very disappointed, our table was.booked for 12.30 yet we did not receive our lunch until 1.40, two of the meals were very visibly burnt/overcooked when they did arrive. We complained and were offered replacements for both, we asked for the child meal to be replaced but the other meal was accepted as the person was very hungry and could not wait any longer for his food. I have to commend your waiter (the lad with the glasses and the beard) as he handled our complaint very well and he deducted the cost of both meals from the bill, however we would rather have had edible meals for everyone in the first instance. We are regular customers and have not had this type of experience before, the dining area was not overly busy, we have been in at busier times on many occasions and have been perfectly happy with both the food and service. Something definitely went wrong in your kitchen today and should be investigated, not sure if I will visit again any time soon.Dear DUNFERMLINEVAL,Thank you for dining with us at The City Hotel. We are obviously disappointed to learn that you were unhappy during your visit and would like to apologise that things were not quite right for you. As you suggest, this is something we are currently investigating and addressing to help prevent similar problems in the future. We will also be sure to pass your kind words on to your waiter as we agree that he dealt with this issue in an appropriate way.Thank you for reaching out to us on tripadvisor as your feedback helps us to put things right and we appreciate you taking the time to do so. Kind Regards,Hotel Staff and Management
