A warm welcome awaits you here. We ate in (it was packed when we arrived). The owner is very friendly. Delicious fish n chips, complete with excellent homemade tartare sauce. Compares well with Anstruther Fish Bar without being totally mobbed!

Stumbled on this wee gem as we were heading to the pub in St Monans. Super fresh, excellent quality fish & chips, freshly cooked to order, as it should be. Lovely people too. You don't normally get standards like this in your average chippy, never mind from a van. Superb.

The poor reviews are to be believed. It should be amazing....wonderful spot, cozy vibe etc. Instead food was really poor, and the management was a masterclass in 'passive aggressive'. My Cullen Skink starter was ok (bread stale)..but when it emerged again with mashed potato on top as my wife's Main Course and called a 'pie'.. unbelievable. I'm not going to waste time detailing any more..long reviews are dull. Last night of our holidays ruined by soulless, careless, tasteless fare. Just believe me, don't eat here.

The Anstruther Boathouse is a Beer/Wine Bar, Coffee Bar and Restaurant and Beer Garden on the waterfront of Anstruther Shore. Accommodation is also available including The Harbour View Suite, The Craw's Nest deluxe double ensuite room and The Robert Louis
We spent the night at the Boathouse 27/07/2019 we had the room called the Craws nest (no2) very good room comfortable bed and a brilliant view over the harbour with chairs and table to sit at and watch the people go by. It's on the top floor and the second flight of stairs is a stone spiral staircase (could be tricky with big bags). The bar downstairs had a good atmosphere and friendly staff. Breakfast the next morning was ample and freshly cooked. would we go back... YES!Thank you both for staying with us- you are greatly valued guests. Your feedback on Sunday was extremely helpful and we are looking forward to your next visit. Thanks again.

We made the mistake of visiting this establishment for lunch today and were simply gobsmacked by our experience. I ordered the prawn linguine which states on the menu it is just prawns, herbs and garlic. So imagine my surprise when it arrived loaded with the same quantity of red onion slices as it had linguine. Why was this an issue you might wonder? Well I suffer from IBS and onions in any form make me very unwell very quickly. I voiced my concern to the waitress and she assured me it would fine and apologised for them not being listed on the menu, but that I could pick something else. She then brought me the dinner menu, containing the same dishes but on average £4 dearer! When I pointed this out she brought the correct menu then disappeared. After what seemed like an eternity the very surly and peeved off manageress came to our table and I ordered a salmon sandwich to which she made a sarcastic comment 'no onions then'?. She then proceeded to ask my if I wanted any extras with it. I confirmed I just wanted a sandwiches as ordered to which she said ' do u not want garlic bread, chips or onion rings?' Onion rings?? Has she short term memory loss?!Anyway, to cut a long story short we ate our meal amidst an atmosphere you could cut with a knife mainly due to scalding looks from staff including the manageress herself. After asking for the bill my husband asked to speak to the manageress. I myself was not going to raise our issues with her as I imagined they would fall on deaf ears, but even I was surprised at her reaction. My husband began eplaining his disappointment to which she became very aggressive, not letting him explain and ranting at me instead of speaking to him. When I tried to speak she kept accusing me of not liking onions, rather than actually acknowledging my condition, and basically treated me like a fussy eater. I have never met a more ignorant, rude and vile nasty piece of work in my life. She kept ranting and I stated I had nothing left to say as it was pointless and I just wanted to pay the bill and leave, and that we would never return again. Upon taking my money and going back to counter she made a comment to her staff the burst of laughing, openly mocking me. I am simply speechless at this behaviour demand would advise anyone to avoid crossing the door of this coven.

We spent a wonderful evening enjoying the great atmosphere, friendly service and fantastic food at Craig Millar @ 16 West End. How there are no michelin stars here is astonishing - one of the best we've had, and weve enjoyed The Kitchin, the Peat Inn, Martin Wisharts and other unrecognised but excellent restaurants. Craig Millar's is very, very good. Go there!

Busy busy on a Saturday night, people in and out and many were locals. Four fish suppers and they were delicious. We had extra fish because they said the portions were small so we needed extra - such decent honesty. Totally recommend this local chippy.
