The show-stopping new Shore Grill & Fish House, sitting proudly on the headland above the historic town of North Queensferry, is the latest destination venue from the creators of the award-winning Twenty Princes Street & Juniper cocktail bar in the heart
Enjoyed our visit to this restaurant that has a great view of the Queensferry Crossing.Starters were excellent we had mussels, the beetroot dish, pate and the pork and egg options from the menu with everyone enjoing their selection. The mains were eagerly anticipated and all dishes were a success. This included steaks, fish, the lamb tangine and the caeser salad with chicken. We did not try the desserts since we were all pretty full after the initial courses but we can try them on another occasion. The wines we selected were also very nice.I liked the layout and decor of the restaurant which is modern but also has a bit of atmosphere to it.My only suggestion would be to add a small steak on to the kids menu. It may have to be priced higher than the other dishes on there but I think there are a fair few youngsters who would like a steak alongside the grown ups.Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to The Shore Grill & Fish House. We are so pleased that you had an enjoyable experience namely the food, the wine and the atmosphere. All feedback is very much appreciated and I shall share your comments regarding the Children's Menu with the relative managers for their consideration. Thank you for choosing to dine with us in The Shore and we do hope you will choose to visit us again soon!

We had a fantastic lunch there one Saturday choose this restaurant because of the seafood selection & the great views. Recommend you book table. Staff were very friendly & helpful & although the restaurant was busy service was excellent throughout lunch.Like that you can have single oysters so you can try them as we did with our starters, we had our Kilpatrick style which was something new & liked them a lot. Wife had her favourite lobster grilled & in the shell which she really enjoyed I had the smoked haddock served on a bed of really creamy mash which was excellent. No dessert but we did have the cheese and as recommended on the menu paired it with a Scottish malt whisky flight something else that we had never tried before but this was excellent 3 cheeses & 3 malts & the pairings were great. At just over £50 per head for what we had was great value, in many places you would pay double want we paid for the lobster.

Traditional sweet shop
In the high street there are a lot of place where you can eat something, but Once upon a time is a lovely place where you can eat some cake, ice cream, candy, coffee...I tried a waffle with Strawberry ice cream. Delicious!!! I loved it!Lovely location and nice staff!!

5 of us went for my sons birthday dinner, food was ok but service was terrible, we were seated upstairs (as requested), the young waiter boy was hopeless, not proactive at all in clearing tables, checking everything was ok, we had to keep calling him over - as he just stood all night at the top of the stairs! It wasnt even busy. We all received our food together apart from 1, when we chased it up took ages for the last meal to come - the waiter boy hadnt even realised we were a meal missing! I think he needs some more training. Not sure I will be back

The food was good and well presented. Unfortunately the desert menu was a little underwhelming and not helped that the desert menu itself was printed on a roughly torn scrap of paper unceremoniously dropped on the table. Sadly our dinning experience was marred by the surly and unwelcome manner of the staff. Such a shame as the food was good and the views of The Forth great but the front of house staff let the place down.

This quaint little pub is just fantastic! The fish and chips were crispy, airy and succulent. The chips were real chips and were delicious. The servings are huge but they will prepare them in halves for two seperate meals, at no extra cost. Prices are super reasonable but tables are limited. The service is impeccable and the drinks and staff are great! A good little pub on the Main Street. Highly recommended.

The Grill Is not just a hotel restaurant. This is a real treat.Classic cocktails and martinis, international beers and a fine range of wines and malts. Fabulous fresh produce, carefully prepared, simply cooked and beautifully presented.
We had booked a two-night stay to visit family and celebrate my husbandâs birthday, and although we hadn't mentioned the birthday when we booked, we were surprised and delighted to be upgraded to an executive room on the fifth floor which gave us a few extraâs including Nespresso coffee machine, bathrobes and slippers and complimentary cocktails for two. We had booked a Friday dinner, bed and breakfast package for our first evening, extremely good value at £120 for two people (and even more so with the upgrade) and again we were surprised and delighted that evening to be taken to a private dining room within the restaurant. The service literally could not have been better. The staff accommodated our dietary needs, showed extensive knowledge of the menu, checked for any allergies and offered a good selection on the vegan menu for one of our group. We all chose differently from the a la carte menu and every meal was delicious, well presented and served with care and attention by the staff. A wonderful experience! The hotel, bar and restaurant are stylish and comfortable, have a lovely ambience, and the staff throughout the hotel are friendly, polite and give excellent service without being intrusive in any way.

We had a superb meal here and thoroughly recommend it. The menu is not big, which I always think is a good indication of excellent food! Our friends had venison and my husband had fish and I had two starters as I have a small appetite. Service was good and we enjoyed our food very much. Friends tell me the ex Labour PM, Gordon Brown, is a frequent visitor.iThanks for reviewing us. We hope to see you again soon. The Wee Team

Small cafe serving fresh tasty food and great coffee (and Tea)
Eight of us in a walking group called in here for lunch after walking from Dunfermline on the new Fife Pilgrim Way. I was expecting nothing more than a standard local "greasy spoon" type Scottish cafe, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The place is quite small, but they'd managed to reserve a big table that we could all sit around together, which was great. The menu was excellent, great choice of smaller brunch type dishes, soups, wraps, sandwiches, everything you could possibly want for a light (or heavier) lunch. I, and a good few of us, opted for the special, which was toasted foccaccia with proscuitto, salad and a few other things in it, plus mini-breadsticks and crisps with home made humous and a bowl of olives on the side. At only £6.99 it was great value and the quantity was so generous that I struggled to finish it, though I did manage...The service was great too - the girl who served us was bright, attentive, friendly, organised and generally on top of things. All great qualities that, sadly, are often missing. Our food came quickly and was politely served and everyone in the group thought the quality was excellent. So, top marks to Rankins, Would thoroughly recommend it.
